This is a extremely fun 1972 Ford Bronco Sport. I bought it just over 2 years ago to put back together. As you can see by the pictures it was all apart. The 305 cubic inch engine, the 3 speed manual transmission, and the transfer case have all been professionally rebuilt and in perfect working order. The exhaust runs through Hedman header down to glasspacks, it has a very nice rumble to it. The Bronco had previously been converted from a column shift to a floor shift using a Hurst shifter kit. It is in a great position for driving. The frame was blasted and protected with an undercoating. The brakes have been rebuilt with new parts and hoses installed. The body has been worked and is covered with a Plasti Dip spray that protects the body as it sits. It is very straight with minimal work remaining. The Plasti Dip can easily be removed to allow a fresh paint job. The underside of the body has been undercoated while off the frame. There are new polyurethane body mounts installed. There is all new rubber installed on the Bronco including: doors, windows, lift gate, hood, and all around the top. The top, grille, dash, and fender flares have been painted Wimbeldon White. The glove box is all there with fuse panel in tact. There is a molded cover over the dash pad which has some cracking. The cover looks very good. All new hoses for the fuel, heater, and vacuum are installed. I have the original chrome bumpers that are bent up a bit, they will go with Bronco along with the rocker moldings and carpet hold downs. I have bought some custom floor mats that fit the Bronco perfectly from Tom's Bronco Parts. There is also a cargo mat in the rear that is an authentic FoMoCo mat for the Broncos. The door panels are original, just cleaned up a bit. Everything works in the doors, windows, and liftgate. The wipers work perfectly along with the wiper spray nozzles on the hood. The seats have been professionally recovered using all the original seat frames and rails. There are many original parts on the Bronco that are in great shape, thus leading me to believe that the mileage (30,120) is correct. I have attempted to keep most of the parts on this Bronco original. There are a few pieces of sheet metal that need to be replaced. I have the drivers rocker panel that needs to be installed. There is also some work to do on the back corners. There are two spots inside the back of the cab that need to be fixed. Both pieces can be purchased cheap and installed, I just do not know how to do so. It does not affect the ride or safety. The back fuel tank just recently rusted through, so it needs to be replaced. Overall, this Bronco is one of the few I have seen that has this many original parts. It is very fun to drive, as I have driven it to a couple of meet-ups these last couple of weeks. The only reason for selling is it is time for something new.

Recharge Wrap-Up: Tesla, CarCharging and the EPA

Sat, Aug 23 2014

Credit Suisse analysts are bullish on Tesla. The group gives the electric car company's stock an "outperform" rating with a target price of $325. For its continued success, Credit Suisse cites the vehicles' superior technology, in turn offering more torque, roominess and reliability. Says analyst Dan Galves said of Tesla's competition with ICEs, "If Tesla can get to cost-parity with Internal Combustion vehicles and still offer $1,400 to $2,500 per year fuel savings to the consumer, it won't be a fair fight." Read more at Yahoo Finance or at Business Insider. In other Tesla news, Tesla Model S owners will be able to unlock and start their car using an iPhone. The Tesla app is adding this functionality soon, perhaps with the update to iOS 8. It's not yet clear how this function will work, but it's one more innovative convenience feature that Model S owners can enjoy. That means drivers will have less to carry in their pockets or purses when they go for a drive. Read more at 9 to 5 Mac. CarCharging Group has remotely lowered the amperage on some of its residential users' Blink charging stations to 24 amps. This will slow down the charging time for affected customers with 6.6-kilowatt charging by about 15 percent. The company cited safety reasons for the move, with concerns about overheating. The amperage reduction is temporary, until CarCharging is able to provide replacement parts for the chargers. Some are concerned about the delayed action, as well as the fact that the reduction was handled without owner permission. Read more at Plugin Cars. Ford is halting test drives and sales of certain C-Max hybrid and Focus models due to a safety concern. Cars made during a single week this month at a Michigan factory may not have enough ball bearings in the steering gear assembly, which could lead to loss of control. None of the affected cars have been sold, Ford says, and about 50 units are currently at dealerships. Just over 600 will need to be recalled. Dealerships have been notified of the problem. Read more at Reuters and the The Detroit News. A new EPA report shows that urban air in the US is becoming less toxic since the Clean Air Act Amendments of 1990. The report shows a 66-percent reduction in benzene, almost 60 percent reduction in mercury from man-made sources, 84 percent less lead and more.

Which electric cars can charge at a Tesla Supercharger?

Sun, Jul 9 2023

The difference between Tesla charging and non-Tesla charging. Electrify America; Tesla Tesla's advantage has long been its charging technology and Supercharger network. Now, more and more automakers are switching to Tesla's charging tech. But there are a few things non-Tesla drivers need to know about charging at a Tesla station. A lot has hit the news cycle in recent months with regard to electric car drivers and where they can and can't plug in. The key factor in all of that? Whether automakers switched to Tesla's charging standard. More car companies are shifting to Tesla's charging tech in the hopes of boosting their customers' confidence in going electric.  Here's what it boils down to: If you currently drive a Tesla, you can keep charging at Tesla charging locations, which use the company's North American Charging Standard (NACS), which has long served it well. The chargers are thinner, more lightweight and easier to wrangle than other brands.  If you currently drive a non-Tesla EV, you have to charge at a non-Tesla charging station like that of Electrify America or EVgo — which use the Combined Charging System (CCS) — unless you stumble upon a Tesla charger already equipped with the Magic Dock adapter. For years, CCS tech dominated EVs from everyone but Tesla.  Starting next year, if you drive a non-Tesla EV (from the automakers that have announced they'll make the switch), you'll be able to charge at all Supercharger locations with an adapter. And by 2025, EVs from some automakers won't even need an adaptor.  Here's how to charge up, depending on which EV you have:  Ford 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E. Tim Levin/Insider Ford was the earliest traditional automaker to team up with Tesla for its charging tech. Current Ford EV owners — those driving a Ford electric vehicle already fitted with a CCS port — will be able to use a Tesla-developed adapter to access Tesla Superchargers starting in the spring. That means that, if you own a Mustang Mach-E or Ford F-150 Lightning, you will need the adapter in order to use a Tesla station come 2024. But Ford will equip its future EVs with the NACS port starting in 2025 — eliminating the need for any adapter. Owners of new Ford EVs will be able to pull into a Supercharger station and juice up, no problem. General Motors Cadillac Lyriq. Cadillac GM will also allow its EV drivers to plug into Tesla stations.

Next Ford Mustang to drop 400 pounds

Thu, 15 Aug 2013

The Ford Mustang is already the lightest of the current crop of muscle cars, at around 3,600 pounds for a GT coupe with the six-speed manual transmission. That's almost 260 pounds less than a Chevrolet Camaro SS and about 450 pounds less than a Dodge Challenger R/T, which means the Mustang has a pretty big advantage when it comes to handling, braking, accelerating and economy. More good news: The next Mustang will be even lighter.
According to a report from Edmunds, the sixth-generation Mustang, which is set to debut at the 2014 North American International Auto Show, will shed an additional 400 pounds of body fat. That 11-percent weight reduction will be thanks to lightweight materials, with a particular focus on using stronger, but less material in construction. Aluminum will feature heavily, but Edmunds' inside source warns that there is "nothing terribly exotic" coming to the original pony car.
The other big news is that the new Mustang will be smaller overall. It's going to be 15-inches shorter than the 188.5-inch Mustang on sale today, while it'll also be 6.5 inches narrower. Shorter overhangs, both in the front and rear, are also good signs for those that want an agile Mustang.
