Selling my 1971 Bronco. Bought it a few years back and have been working on it slowly. I was initially told that the motor ran bad due to the fuel, and the transmission was fine, it was the shifting link that was out of adjustment. Well, not quite the case. There was no interior to boot. So I was looking for a project and that's what I got. SO....... Things that have been replaced, fixed, or added......... New Crate Motor, 302 325 hp, new three speed manual transmission. New Clutch. Cyntech Wiring harness. Nothing worked in the dash, now everything but the cigarette lighter does. New Windshield wiper motors though they are not synchronized. New wiper fluid pump. Interior is new..seats, carpet, insulation under carpet. Locking console with Kenwood radio with original apple plug in. Rampage top is new. Rear speakers and side panels over wheel wells. Seat belts are new. Both fuel tank sending units were replaced. All the shocks were replaced with Rancho. New rear brakes, new master cylinder. Front were ok. U-joints in drive shafts replaced. U-joints in front axle replaced. Transfer case was resealed. Drum brakes, and manual steering fyi also. So the body... Its not a rust bucket. I have a ton more photos I can email. Tailgate does have drilled holes from a different type of soft top I imagine. Dent on tailgate as well. Dented left front fender that also involved grill. Body shop opinion was grill was fixable. Rocker panels are ok. Inner fender in engine compartment, driver side, does have rust. Floor pans were replaced prior to me owning. Rear floor is fine. Hood does have a crack on edge, you can see it in the pics. Buyer responsible for pick up or shipping. Immediate payment of non-refundable $500 once auction won. Speedo is off considerably, and I cannot confirm odometer. Could be 122243.0 |

2015 will be the biggest year ever for cars at CES
Fri, Jan 2 2015Like the SEMA Show, major automakers are paying increasing attention to the CES, with 2015 expected to be one of the most auto focused yet. Ford, Volkswagen, Toyota, General Motors, Hyundai, Mazda, Audi, BMW and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles will all be in attendance when CES 2015 kicks off next week, taking up a record-breaking 165,000 square feet of space at the Las Vegas Convention Center. "We've come a long way from a single car on a carpet," Ford's Alan Hall told Bloomberg. Unlike SEMA, or a more traditional auto show, like the upcoming festivities in Detroit, CES doesn't necessarily focus on entire cars or the way they perform, but on the way our technology will interact with vehicles, and in how those vehicles will deliver information to drivers. "CES has become a major launch point for a lot of the big automakers," IHS tech analyst Mark Boyadjis told Bloomberg. "CES is a way for them to get on a global stage for technology." As for what kind of wares automakers will trot out in Las Vegas, we already know that BMW will show off an autonomous i3 electric car that can navigate its way through a multistory car park and can be hailed via a smartwatch app. According to Bloomberg, Hyundai will show off its own smartwatch app for the Genesis sedan, while Audi and Mercedes-Benz will show off autonomous vehicles next week. Automakers won't be the only companies looking to capitalize on CES. Tech firms, like chipmaker Nvidia, are becoming increasingly involved in the automotive game and will be in town showing their wares off to OEMs. "Two years ago, our booth would have been filled with PCs and people playing video games," Danny Shapiro, Nvidia's senior director for automotive business, told Bloomberg. "This year we made a strategic decision to shift the focus of the booth on automotive and de-prioritize some of the other things." Needless to say, you can expect to see a lot of news out of Las Vegas come next week. Stay tuned. Ford going bonkers at SEMA with 57 showcars
Sat, 19 Oct 2013Ford always shows up in force at the SEMA Show, but this year's tally of 57 custom-tuned cars, trucks and vans is more than we can ever recall the Blue Oval bringing. Ford will introduce 28 of its project vehicles in its "Dreamcase" ahead of next month's show. The first batch of eight you'll find here with the remaining vehicles trickling into public view over the next couple of weeks.
This first group of cars includes a Fiesta, four Fiesta ST hatchbacks and a trio of Mustang show cars styled and tuned to varying degrees all by different aftermarket companies. Tanner Foust, Nitto Tire, 3dCarbon and Ice Nine Group are some of the more familiar names affixed to these cars. Our favorite so far is the Hollywood Hot Rods Mustang convertible (shown above) with its removable aluminum top and methanol-injected, 750-horsepower 5.0-liter V8.
Scroll down for all the details on these Fiestas and Mustangs, and stay tuned for more info on Ford's SEMA line, which will include custom versions of the Focus ST, Fusion, Transit Connect, F-150 and Super Duty.
Car companies used to cook up sales with recipe books
Fri, 08 Aug 2014The evolution of automotive marketing has undergone a number of strange phases. Few, though, match the strangeness of the 1930s to 1950s, when automotive marketers turned to cookbooks as a means of promoting their vehicles. Yes, cookbooks. We can't make this stuff up, folks.
This bizarre trend led to General Motors distributing cookbooks under the guise of its then-subsidiary Frigidaire. Ford, meanwhile, offered a compilation of recipes from Ford Credit Employees (shown above). The cookbook-craze wasn't limited to domestic manufacturers, though. As The Detroit News discovered, both Rolls-Royce and Volkswagen got in on the trend, although not until the 1970s.
The News has the full story on this strange bit of marketing. Head over and take a look.
