1971 Ford Bronco 4x4 68 69 70 302 V8 Orange Denver Fans Not C7 Fj Clean Mud Rig on 2040-cars
Little Rock, Arkansas, United States
You are bidding on a Nice 4X4 1971 Ford Bronco that's ready for any terrain. Ready for the road, beach or mud.... This truck comes equipped with the original 302ci engine and 3 speed manual transmission. The engine was rebuilt around 8k miles ago and is stout pretty stout with an Edelbrock 650 4 barrel carb added after the rebuild. The 4 wheel drive works great and this thing will literally go through anything you want to throw its way. The 3 speed transmission shifts smooth and has Hurst aftermarket shifters. This Bronco has a Rancho 3 inch suspension lift and Cooper Discoverer 33X12.5 X15LT tires with 80% tread remaining. The paint is Harley Orange with light brown fender flares (new when painted). The truck has a bikini top on it but the original top comes with the rig also. Aftermarket black seats I believe are from a late model Ford car. Entire inside of the cab has been Rhino lined. Both bumpers are heavy duty aftermarket and the front is made for the use of a winch if desired. Roll bar is painted to match the flares and hood. Pioneer stereo with speakers in the back. I don't currently have the back seat in the truck but its also included in the sale. This is a pretty clean rig to be over 40 years but its not a new car so I encourage any interested buyers to have a 3rd party come inspect the truck before bidding. Im available anytime after 5 pm CST to meet if you please. These trucks are getting harder to find without being totally rusted out or someone asking $30k+ for a frame off restoration. The previous owner replaced the floors before paint and ive tried to show any surface rust on the frame. If you have any questions please call me 501-831-2762. Only thing I can think this truck needs is a new speedometer. Hasn't worked since I bought it and doesn't bother me enough to fix it. I will be listing this truck locally so reserve the right to end the listing at any time. Please do NOT bid if you have zero or negative feedback without contacting me first. Will assist with delivery inside 30 miles. Winning bidder to pay $1000.00 immediately after auction ends. Thanks for looking and Happy Bidding!

Automotive Grade Linux will be the backbone of your connected car
Fri, Jan 6 2017Creating a backend for a secure, reliable, and expandable infotainment system is costly and time consuming. The Linux Foundation, a non-profit organization, has set out to promote and advance the Linux operating system in commercial products. Automotive Grade Linux, or AGL, is a group within the Foundation that seeks to apply a Linux backend to a number of automotive applications in a variety of vehicles from various suppliers and manufacturers. AGL's goal is to create a common, unifying framework that allows developers and manufacturers to easily implement applications across platforms. Currently, the focus is on infotainment systems, but AGL has plans for instrument clusters, heads-up displays, and eventually active safety software. At CES, a display from Panasonic showed a completely digital and customizable dashboard that allows information and apps to be moved from the gauge cluster to the infotainment screen and back, all through the use of gesture and touch controls. Although the organization has been around for five years, it's really only been in the past three that the group has been working hand in hand with automakers and suppliers. The first two OEMs to participate, Toyota and Jaguar Land Rover, have since been joined by Mazda, Suzuki, Ford, and, as of this week, Daimler. The latter is important as until now most of AGL's partner's have been based in Japan or the US. Other partners include suppliers Denso, Renesas, Continental, Qualcomm, and Intel. AGL want's to supply roughly 80 percent of the backend, allowing partners to then finish and refine the Linux system for each individual application. Think of how the Android operating system is refined and customized for individual smartphones from Samsung, LG, and Motorola. While the final product looks different, developers can have an application that will work across all AGL systems. Because it is open source, anyone can use and develop for AGL. You can even go onto the group's website and download a copy right now. There is also a software development kit available that helps facilitate app creation on the platform. Vehicle development cycles take roughly five years, so there currently are no cars that run an AGL backbone available for consumers. AGL Executive Director Dan Cauchy says products should be hitting the market later this year, with even more coming in 2018. Right now, the industry is relatively fragmented when it comes to infotainment and related systems.
Transit Courier completes Ford's new commercial van line, will we get it?
Sat, 13 Apr 2013This week Ford rolled out the 2014 Transit Courier, the fourth addition to its Transit range. Ford says its the first time for the nameplate in the compact van segment.
"Ford has now completely transformed its commercial vehicle line-up, with four all-new, class-leading Transits for European customers," said Barb Samardzich, vice president of product development for Ford Europe. "With the all-new Transit range, we expect sales to grow to 400,000 units per year by 2016, well over 50 percent more than we sell today."
When the Courier goes on sale in the Spring of 2014, it will offer more than 1,400 pounds of payload capacity, multiple mounting points for racks or other framework and a rear cargo area that can carry items 5.3 feet-long. An optional folding passenger seat boosts the cargo length to 8.5 feet.
Ford Mustang GT Bi-Fuel CNG
Tue, 23 Jul 2013Highly intrigued, we recently visited a Southern California Gas Company office to check out several hybrid vehicles promising something new. Unlike more commonplace gasoline-electric hybrids, we were there to evaluate innovative gasoline-compressed natural gas (CNG) hybrids - yes, they run on unleaded gasoline and compressed natural gas. According to the experts on hand, this arrangement delivers extended range and reduced emissions while chipping in with lower operating costs than pure-gasoline vehicles. There are advantages over its gasoline-electric counterparts, as well.
The program is part of a three-way collaboration between The Carlab, a Southern California-based automotive consulting firm, Landi Renzo USA, a company specializing in alternative fuel solutions, and America's Natural Gas Alliance, a group that promotes CNG. Long story short, the team has engineered a way to allow a modified internal combustion vehicle to seamlessly switch between two fuels (gasoline and CNG) with no driver intervention. In theory, and if it works as well as promised, it's a win-win for the vehicle owner and the environment.
Parked at the Gas Company office were six different gasoline-CNG hybrid vehicles. To demonstrate the technology's versatility (just about any gasoline vehicle may be modified) Carlab brought a varied assortment of bodystyles, each from a different automaker. After taking a quick glance at the half-dozen in the parking lot, we made a beeline for the performance-oriented Ford Mustang GT - a 2012 model - with the six-speed manual gearbox.
