I picked up this Bronco about 10 months ago from the original owners family. Mr. Leo Rice bought it new in November 1968 at Starr Ford in Roseville Calif.  Roseville is a few miles east of Sacramento in Northern California. It spent its whole life there as Mr. Rice was a Air Force Pilot stationed at McClellan AFB in Sacramento. He flew C130s during the Vietnam War. When Mr. Rice passed away, his daughter and son in law inherited it where it was kept in running condition until I bought it. It currently has just over 106,000 original miles. It was well maintained by way of oil changes which I have a thick folder. I received all original paperwork including purchase agreement and service manuals. Mr. Rice also grabbed the original Dealer brochure that was in the showroom when he picked up the Bronco.

Since purchasing, I have rebuilt the entire brake system with new shoes and wheel cylinders. I have installed new front coil springs and all new shocks all around. I have also replaced the steering stabilizer. I have completely replaced the entire exhaust with stock original. I have repaired any and all leaks that this vehicle had. Replaced leaking rear mail seal and pan gasket. Replaced leaking rear pinion seal. I have put in new spark plugs, rotor, condenser, points and cap. I had the original carburetor rebuilt and replaced the fuel filter. I installed new air and oil filters with new oil change. I replaced the windshield washer tank. I have installed a new battery. This is a 3 speed on the column and no chatter in clutch.

On the interior I replaced all the seat covers with correct original reproduction. I replaced the padded dash and glove box. I took the speedometer apart as it got noisy from sitting and cleaned, lubricated and installed all new light bulbs. I scrubbed the entire inside with simple green while the interior was out including the original rubber floor covering which now looks new. I repainted the interior of the doors as the were scratched and had 4" speaker holes that were cut in. I patched those with round discs as seen in pictures. I installed a new reproduction headliner. I also have installed all new weather stripping throughout the vehicle. The front windshield was replaced due to a crack.

On the outside I buffed the second repaint and polished it. The paint is very nice. I replaced all the emblems, lenses and marker lenses. I installed new door handles. I sandblasted the wheels and repainted to match the vehicle. I installed reproduction stainless steel hubcaps. I replaced the rear bumper which was a "Barden" type and that is why you see 2 holes on each side of the body where it attached to the rear fender. I also inspected very thoroughly any possibility of any rust issues and found none. I am aware of this vintage Ford Bronco and where they rust. Nothing was found.

---Final Condition---

Everything works on this Bronco including the windshield washer and emergency brake light. Radio Heater and Defroster all perform well. The only thing that does not work is the auxiliary gas tank sending unit. I am too lazy to pull the tank down.

The Bronco starts, runs and drives perfectly and leaks nothing. It does not smoke, use oil or run anywhere north of mid range on the gauge. When driving and since completing all above there is not 1 rattle anywhere inside which it had many when I bought it.

It is very quiet inside while driving.

I am selling to move on to the next flip. Please call me with any questions. NOTE: Unless you are an active bidder/buyer on EBAY and with at least 5 feedbacks in last 6 months, please contact me first or your bid will be rejected.

NO DISSAPOINTMENTS if you buy this car.

Forgot to mention that Mr. Rice had a electric winch installed after he bought the Bronco. You can see the winch in the front bumper. It works excellent.

Meet Floyd Pullin, 102-year-old honorary president of Ford trucks [w/video]

Wed, 28 Aug 2013

When we talk about trucks we often talk about how loyal truck owners are; it's men like Floyd Pullin who provide the proof. The 102-year-old man from Confluence, Pennsylvania has only owned Ford products since the 1920s, and he's done so well by Ford Trucks that the division named him honorary president for a day, not long after he took delivery of his latest ride, a 2013 F-150 STX.
That's the 16th Ford he's owned. If he bought his first when he was 16, he'd have flipped into a new car or truck about every five years. For 86 years. Not a bad run of business for either side.
Ford Trucks made a video to wish Pullin a happy birthday, which was celebrated at his local Ford dealership and was visited by a Pennsylvania state senator. You can watch it below.

Shelby Mustang stars with Ethan Hawke, Selena Gomez in Getaway movie

Thu, 06 Jun 2013

Car movies. We keep watching them, they keep making them. Despite Fast & Furious 6 still blowing up the box office (No. 1 in theaters for the second straight week) and production on Transformers 4 being well underway (check out the Bugatti Veyron and Corvette Stingray as new cast members), there's still room on the marquee for more car movies. Next one up is an Ethan Hawke joint called Getaway, which prominently co-stars a Ford Shelby GT500. The first trailer for Getaway, which opens in theaters on August 30, was released yesterday and can be watched below.
The movie's plot centers around Hawke's character, former race car driver Brent Magna, who must somehow use this car, what appears to be a generation-old Shelby GT500 Super Snake he "commandeered," to save his wife. The movie's third co-star is Selena Gomez, whose character we're told is the owner of said Shelby. A 20-year-old having a car like this seems a bit far-fetched - especially in Europe - and on paper, this plot looks like it cribs liberally from Charlie Sheen's 1994 The Chase. But all we've got to go on is a brief plot description and the trailer below, so we'll withhold judgment until the studio firmly has our ticket money in its grasp.
The Shelby GT500 is, of course, no stranger to acting. Before this jump to celluloid, the most fearsome of all Mustang models starred in the return of Knight Rider to television on NBC back in 2008. That gig didn't pan out for the car, the show lasting only one season and 17 episodes. In fact, with its casting in Getaway, the Shelby GT500 is one of the few actors who escaped that debacle with a future in show biz.

Former Cadillac boss Butler takes Ford tech job

Tue, 07 Jan 2014

When Don Butler made the surprising decision to leave his post as Cadillac's VP of global strategic development, it was a surprise. Citing a desire to "recalibrate, reassess my priorities" in that August announcement, it wasn't entirely clear where Butler - a virtual General Motors lifer after spending nearly 30 years with the company - would end up. Turns out he took a trip to Dearborn.
Butler has taken a position in the newly created position of Executive Director of Connected Vehicles and Services at Ford, where he'll be responsible for the Blue Oval's global connectivity strategy. "Not only does Don understand the connected car landscape, but probably just as important, he understands customer expectations," said Raj Nair, who, as Group Vice President of Global Product Development, is Butler's new boss. "Having a leader with technology experience both inside and outside the industry is a rare combination - we're excited to have Don join our team."
As Ford has received its fair share of flak for the sometimes recalcitrant MyFord Touch infotainment system and its Sync voice-controls, it appears that Butler has his work cut out for him.
