1969 "well Optioned, Non Rusty, Automatic" Ford Early Bronco on 2040-cars
Boise, Idaho, United States
Up for bidding is my 1969 FORD Bronco. This Bronco is very nice. Based on everything I am told, she has a lot of the very desired options that early Bronco enthusiasts want in there rigs. Outside of being very clean and non rusty she looks nice to. I will describe this Bronco to the best of my ability and give you a good idea of its condition. To start off with she is a V8 Bronco with a strong running 302. My mechanic describes this motor as one that will last a lifetime if properly taken care of. He did some work on her lately (oil change etc) and did a compression check for me. His findings he indicated were very good with compression running 131 in all cylinders but one which was 128...He stated that such a minimal difference in cylinders is very good for the motor. The motor has a AFB 4bbl carter carburetor that seems to do ok with the motor. I know that when I go to start the truck after sitting for a month, that it fires right over without hesitation. Next, she comes with a rebuilt C4 Automatic Transmission. This tranny drives very smooth with some good shift or kick in it when you drive it. Drives as if it has a shift kit in it. The builder of the tranny did not indicate whether or not that it had one, but this guy has been doing ford transmissions for 30 years and knows his stuff. Next option is Power steering. The power steering works very well with no hesitation and noises. The hoses etc are in good shape with no leaks. Turns the vehicle very easily.
This Bronco came stock with Power Disc Brakes. They work very well for the vehicle with no issues to note. Booster and brakes works well for the truck. Next this Bronco has DANA 44 FRONT AXLE. Axle does well when engaged with no noises to speak of. U joints etc are good with no leaks. Adding to the list this Bronco has a 79 Bronco Tilt Steering Column. I had this column installed because my bronco friends told me that this was the column to put in because of the ease of installation for electrical etc. The column works well with all lighting etc working. Next this Bronco comes with a wild horses 4" Inch Suspension Lift. This lift makes the Bronco ride very nice without being to stiff. It is very solid. To ad to the lift this Bronco has Brand New 33-12.50/15 Tires on it. The tires have about 20 miles on them with misc. runs to the store and one 2 hr 4wd session on them...All the nobby's are still on the tires. Wheels are nice wide chrome wheels. THEY ARE IN GOOD SHAPE. This Bronco also comes equipped with Electric Wipers. My last bronco I had years ago had the old vacuum wipers. These are sure nice to have. They work good. To round out the description of options etc I will just list them. The whole interior of the truck is carpeted. The carpet is in good shape. There are patch areas where the floor tunnel was repaired at awhile back. My understanding is this is very common due to changes in shifters etc. Carpet looks very good in truck. This truck also has lots of new weather stripping which make the doors stick out abit. The doors are getting better as the weather stripping compresses more. This truck also has Dual exhaust which sounds good. Next it also has a factory roof/luggage rack on the top which to me makes the top look cool. It also comes with jeep wrangler seats which are cool in the truck and the back seat folds up for more space in the rear area. Added to the interior is a custom overhead console that houses overhead infinity speakers. and all the switches for interior lighting and exterior fog lights. The speakers sound very nice up in the area above your head. Stereo system is nice and has six speakers(all Bose or Infinity) in the rear, middle and front. The truck is wired for amps but I never installed any because the system sounds good as is. And I don't drive it enough to warrant the expense The vehicle also has 2 power outlets installed for IPODS or ???. The dash has some up to date gauges for oil pressure and engine temperature. There is one in the back and one in the front. Oil pressure usually runs well over 40 PSI and the temperature averages between 180 and 190 routinely. It has never overheated or had an issue. Rounding out the options, it has tube bumpers with fog lights on the front. Overall, this truck is very nice. It comes with lots of desire options, Body work and paint are very nice and I would describe her as a good 5 footer. The paint is in very nice shape with lots of good quality shine to it.. There is the random dimple here and there as this is not a show truck. It is a 4wd truck. All of the trim is original to the truck and is in good driver quality. One of my bronco Buddies believes that this is a "sport: model bronco. I don't know the difference so you experts out there can be the judge of that. The most important thing on this truck is that there is no rust on it. Rockers, floors, firewall all look to be in great condition. I will provide pics for anyone who needs to see more detailed undercarriage etc. No real negative things to say about the truck. All my friends tell me to fuel inject it etc to make the engine more up to date, but it is solid the way it is. The sad part of it is that the truck has sat for very long periods of time as we rarely use it. My wife likes more of a "modern" or up to date vehicle and is not really into the classics. So it just sits for the most part. The new owner will no doubt drive it more and work out any of the kinks that she might have. We just don't drive it enough to know the truck inside and out. Please look at pics very carefully as you will see that this is a very clean rig. I rarely see the occasional oil spot on the floor and sometimes a radiator drip or two. The undercarriage is exceptionally clean. No oil at all. If you need any pics of any part of the truck, please feel free to ask. I am not a big bronco expert or anything so I have described this truck honestly and to the best of my ability. I know that whoever gets this truck will love it and enjoy it for years. Vehicle is listed locally and nationally for sale. Buyers reserves the right to sell prior to ebay listing closing. I will be posting more pics. On Mar-12-14 at 01:18:59 PDT, seller added the following information:
A few errors that I noticed...For some reason this is the only text I can change or ad. The power outlets are located one in the front and back. Not the gauges. I have had many questions and comments come in on the vehicle already. I will answer all as time permits. Thank you for the interest in this Bronco. Sorry for any spelling or grammar errors. On Mar-12-14 at 01:31:27 PDT, seller added the following information: More revisions...Because I think of things after the fact. All buyers with low feedback, no feedback, or negative feedback. Please contact me before bidding. Please I ask that no "non paying" bidders bid on this nice bronco. It is a waste of time for everybody. As usual, please be prepared to make a 500.00 deposit within 24 hrs of the close of the auction. Please be prepared to pay in full the amount within 5 days of close. I am a reasonable person and will work with people. As stated earlier, Any pics that you need, please fell free to just ask. If there is a way to post video of the bronco, I will do so in the next few days. Once again, thanks for looking at this good example of a classic bronco. |

Ford patents a multi-touch version of its classic keypad
Fri, Sep 9 2016For decades, Ford has offered a keypad on the doors of their cars that would allow owners access with the right code. Amazingly, the keypad has survived almost unchanged except for a recent touch button version. A new patent from the Blue Oval shows the keypad may get a big upgrade soon. The first big change is that it looks like the keypad may move to the key fob. Although it might be possible to have it on the car itself as well, the patent only seems to focus on the key fob. In addition, the fob will now be a multi-touch pad similar to that of modern smartphones. This will allow for more diverse code entries, according to the patent's description. Instead of just a simple number code, owners could enter a code that involves swipes and keystrokes, and even simultaneous keystrokes. For instance, you could enter a code that requires swiping from 1 to 3, followed by holding 2 and 4 to unlock the car. The patent also seems to indicate that this keypad would then display unlock functions and other functions on the fob after the correct code is entered, thus making it more than just a way to unlock the car. As for the practical implications of this keypad system update, it could provide an added layer of security. If someone steals your keys, they would have to also know your access code to get into the car. Whether this would also help make the key and car harder to hack would remain to be seen, though. Another possible benefit could be the prevention of accidental lock and alarm button presses, although that likely isn't a common issue. There could be potential downsides as well. If used as an extra layer of security, the legitimate owner would have to punch in their code on the fob to get in, which would render proximity key benefits relatively useless. Moving the keypad to the fob would also mean owners couldn't get into their cars without having the key with them. We don't have any clues as to when this could become a feature, but it doesn't seem like it would be difficult to implement, so it could show up in the next few years. Ford recalling 205k Edge and Lincoln MKX units for possible corrosion
Thu, 30 Oct 2014After the horrible weather last winter, it's hard to look forward for the season to return this year. For those readers in much of the country, the snow is going to be flying soon, and with it comes salt on the roads. That means Ford's regional recall for the 2007-2008 Edge and Lincoln MKX arrives at the perfect time because they are at risk for corrosion.
The campaign covers 204,448 examples of the models in 21 states, plus the District of Columbia and some provinces of Canada. In total there are 186,024 vehicles in need of repair in the US and 18,424 in Canada.
According to Ford, it's possible for the area, "under the reinforcement brackets where the fuel tank is mounted" to corrode. If this happens, there might be a gas smell in the vehicle or even a fuel leak could develop. In fact, the automaker reports that one fire could be related to the problem but no injuries or accidents are reported.
Ford Transit Skyliner Concept does discreet luxury in NYC
Thu, 17 Apr 2014There's something to be said for luxed-out vans. They're cool, and as a means of getting chauffeured about, they're extremely comfortable and far more low key than your typical executive luxury sedan. For the 2014 New York Auto Show, Galpin Auto Sports has shown the potential of the new-for-the-US Ford Transit as an ultra-luxurious people hauler.
The Transit Skyliner Concept, which we previewed last week, sports four finely crafted captain's buckets that can be moved into different formations based on need. Want to watch a movie? The seats can be swung around to face a 52-inch screen. Riding along with some business associates? A table can be popped up. There's even a configuration for tailgating.
The materials are, unsurprisingly, pretty plush. The leather seats and wood floors (yes, wood floors in a van) look great, while the trunk and its customized luggage are a nice touch, as well.
