1968 Ford Bronco 289 Manual Transmission 4wd Convertible Solid Not Alot Of Rust! on 2040-cars

This is my 1968 Bronco. It has been under an old shed for years, but the roof was falling. I'm not going to let the elements ruin this Bronco. Here it is for your consideration. If you have been looking for a solid body you should give it a look. It has a 289 engine, manual shift on the column, 4wd, a virtually rust free body. I mean that there are almost no rusted through areas. It does have some surface rust in areas. The rockers, firewall, and floors are in great shape. There is some rust through on the front of the drivers fender. Basically, the majority of this Bronco is very sound.  It is perfect for a build. This Bronco is solid. It is not currently running. The last time it was on the road was in 1990. This is a V8 4wd Bronco. Title is free and clear. I have all of the glass minus the drivers door glass. It was broken. That's why you see the surface rust on the drivers front floor pan, but it isn't bad at all. Underneath this Bronco there is old mud and surface rust. The windshield is cracked. I laid the gas tanks, chrome molding, headlight chrome, rear drive shaft, etc. in the driveway. Please see the photos and ask about any concerns. Please ask if you have any concerns at all. It has a 289 engine with a 3 speed on the column shift transmission. The engine is in need of a fuel pump, valve covers, wires, and I honestly can't say if it still runs. It does turn. Be prepared for a rebuild as the worst case scenario. You shouldn't have to, but it has been sitting along time. It was last on the road in 1990. The steering coupler rag joint needs replacing, drivers door glass is broken, needs locking hub on the front drivers wheel, and the rear driveshaft is not complete. Please ask any and all questions that you have prior to bidding. You don't have to guess or wonder about anything. I will give honest and prompt answers to all of your questions to help you make a good decision about whether or not you should bid on this 1968 Ford Bronco. I could only upload 24 photos. Please let me know if you need more. Please only bid if you are capable of finishing the transaction. I'm located in Duluth, GA 30096. You will need to bring your trailer when you come to pickup the Bronco. I will help you load up everything and secure it. If you do decide to ship the car with a transporter that will not be a problem. I will assist your transporter with loading, securing, and promptly send you photos of the loaded vehicle as the transporter leaves me. Please bid to win. I'll do my part to take care of you. Thanks for your consideration.

3dCarbon now offering body kit for Ford Fusion

Tue, 01 Oct 2013

A factory-backed body kit by 3dCarbon is now available to Ford Fusion owners who want their car to stand out from the crowd while not being too flashy. The body kit adds a more aggressive front spoiler, side skirts, rear body trim and spoiler that are, in fact, integrated quite nicely into the Fusion's already-comely styling, just as 3dCarbon claims. All Fusions with the kit also receive dual exhaust ports with the stainless-steel exhaust surrounds usually reserved for the Titanium package Fusion EcoBoost models.
A nice detail of 3dCarbon's injection-molded urethane body kit is that it has undergone crash testing to certify that it can withstand crashes up to five miles per hour. Because of this, the kit is warrantied by 3dCarbon for five years or 50,000 miles, much like Ford's warranty on its own parts. In fact, the kit is available through participating Ford dealers and can be financed through Ford Motor Credit. Buyers can purchase the kit - pre-painted or unpainted - and install it themselves, or it can be purchased with a new Ford Fusion and installed at the dealer, pre-painted to factory specifications. Of course, it can also be ordered directly from the source. Take a look at the press release below for more detailed information on the body kit, and let us know what you think of it in Comments.

Ford to rebrand SVT as 999?

Mon, 22 Sep 2014

Ford operates a number of performance divisions around the world. There's SVT in the US, Team RS in Europe and Ford Performance Vehicles (FPV) in Australia. But the Blue Oval has been steadily integrating its performance operations into one unit, and here we might have our first indication of what it will be called.
A reader at Jalopnik sent in a survey in which respondents were asked to gauge the name for a new performance brand from a "major automotive manufacturer," and while the identity of that automaker was not disclosed, according to the survey, the automaker is considering the name 999 for its new go-fast unit.
As our compatriots point out, the 999 was Ford's first racecar, a rudimentary chassis with a 19-liter inline-four campaigned by Henry Ford around the turn of the 20th century. (Ford also used the number to designate a Fusion fuel-cell racer a few years back.) That could prove the tie-in Dearborn is looking for in rebranding its performance operations worldwide, replacing the letters SVT, RS and FPV globally under one name.

NHTSA closes Ford F-Series Super Duty steering probe without recall

Wed, 05 Feb 2014

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's investigation into 2008 Ford F-250 and F-350 Super Duty pickups, which was originally opened last year, has now ended without a recall. NHTSA was looking into steering failures on some 336,000 trucks.
The issue rested with the steering gear - NHTSA received five complaints of failures - which was redesigned in 2005. According to the report on the matter, investigators "found evidence of broken sector shaft gear teeth and piston damage consistent with incidents of single event overload."
NHTSA investigators, however, "found no evidence of fatigue or material property defects in any of the fractures. Analysis of complaint rates by vehicle build month showed no patterns indicating potential manufacturing quality issues and no difference before and after Ford introduced design changes to the input shaft and sector shaft seals in July 2007 to address potential leak concerns," according to the report, obtained by The Detroit News.
