1966 Original Ford Bronco 170cc Engine 57xxx Miles on 2040-cars
Flower Mound, Texas, United States
1966 U15 Bronco with 56xxx original miles. This is NOT a $10k fixer upper bronco. It drives great. Everything works but the wipers, but I don't drive my Broncos in the rain.
This vehicle has the original 170cc inline 6. It still runs strong, does not leak oil nor does it smoke. The tranny, 3 on the tree, shifts smooth and does not slip. It will run 70 mph down the highway all day long. All the gauges work! If you want an extremely clean bronco, stop reading and bid. I have taken pics of the age issues, but to enjoy this vehicle you only need to buy and drive it. The issues can be addressed for very little $ and time invested. I priced out all parts needed to make this baby perfect and it was under $1000. Including 3 new oem seat skins. You won't find a better deal! We can do the work for you, if you want after you buy it. I put the seats from my 74 in her so i could drive it around without damaging the original silver 1966 seats. Will ship the vehicle with the originals. If you want my other ones as well, we can work something out. I can answer any questions that you may have regarding the vehicle, but the pictures speak for themselves. If you would like to see what we normally do to vehicles, please check us out on FB @ Iconic Motor Company---- Like our page. This Bronco is Amazing!!! This vehicle is listed for sale locally and I reserve the right to sell it immediately to a qualified buyer and end this auction. Thanks and Happy Bidding On Jul-23-14 at 18:56:05 PDT, seller added the following information: The picture of the wheel well shows the original undercoating that is still present all though flaking. It was put on by the New Jersey dealer as an optional undercoating. This coating is present throughout the undercarriage and when pulled off in pieces you expose the original burnt orange primer or marlin blue paint. This is the main thing I believe kept the rust off this vehicle. That and it was stored in San Angelo tx since 1974. It was purchased in Jersey and the owner then moved to TX to pursue his racing career. |

Ford's Galhotra succeeds Farley as head of Lincoln
Wed, 23 Jul 2014Ford Motor Company is announcing a major personnel shakeup that could have a dramatic effect on the future of the Lincoln division. Kumar Galhotra (pictured above), currently vice president of engineering at Ford for all of its vehicles worldwide, is taking over as the president of the luxury brand on September 1, replacing Jim Farley. The automaker is also hiring a new head of advanced engineering.
Galhotra has a huge job ahead of him as the new boss of Lincoln worldwide, overseeing product development, marketing, sales and service. His task is to turn the luxury division into a world-class brand as quickly as possible, and he reports directly to Ford President and CEO Mark Fields.
"These changes underscore our commitment to build on the success of our One Ford plan by accelerating our pace of progress. They also make clear we are serious about Lincoln as a world-class luxury brand and that product excellence and innovation are what will deliver growth and define our entire company going forward," said Fields in the company's announcement.
2015 Ford F-150 appearance guide takes the truck from mild to wild with options
Thu, 31 Jul 2014We already know that the 2015 Ford F-150 has a base price coming in at just $395 more than the 2014 model, despite all of the new standard tech and aluminum-intensive construction in the upcoming version. Now the Blue Oval is finally giving us an idea of what that extra money actually buys customers, with the release of the appearance guide for its latest pickup.
The guide basically explains everything you could want to know about what changes occur among the multitude of trims on the 2015 F-150. There are five levels for the new truck. Although, that is something of a misnomer because most of them are also available with either Sport or Chrome packages, plus the FX4 Off-Road option with Hill Descent Control, an electronic-locking rear axle, off-road shocks and skid plates. With 13 available colors, including 4 new ones, and 14 wheel designs in various sizes, pickup buyers should have no problem specing one to fit their style.
The lineup starts out with the base XL with a black grille and fascia and 17-inch wheels. However, across most of the range the Sport and Chrome packages are also available to add either body-color or chrome accents, respectively. Next up is the XLT with a standard chrome grille but also available with a black, billet-style one with a body-color surround. Things really start getting plush with the Lariat model with leather trim, a three-bar front end and 18-inch wheels. The King Ranch sticks with that look but adds power running boards, 20-inch wheels and two-tone paint. Finally, the top-dog Platinum is all about bling with yet another frontal design, chrome door handles and mirror caps, a big logo running across the tailgate and more.
Jay Leno takes a Surfin' Safari in a 1937 Ford Woodie Restomod
Tue, 21 Oct 2014Woodie wagons were a major part of surfing culture in the 1960s, offering coastal style and a ton of room, and they even earned a mention in the Beach Boys' classic song Surfin' Safari. This week, Jay Leno's Garage takes a look at two modern, restomodded examples of these style icons.
Unlike a lot of restomods, builder Scott Bonowski keeps these wagons looking almost completely stock on the outside, and all of the upgrades are hidden underneath the timber. You can't tell by looking at it, but the '37 Woodie (pictured above) has independent front and rear suspension, disc brakes and a Ford 5.0-liter V8 under the hood.
Beyond the mechanical aspect, the craftsmanship into the wood is astounding. Bonowski claims there are between 30 and 50 coats of varnish on this wagon. It makes these woodies as much of a piece of fine furniture as a vehicle to drive.
