1966 Ford Bronco Half-cab: Beautifully Restored on 2040-cars

US $34,800.00
Year:1966 Mileage:88000 Color: in near perfect condition with absolutely no dings
Location:

Carlsbad, California, United States

Carlsbad, California, United States

FIRST YEAR of the V8 Bronco.  Removable half-cab makes it even more rare.  Completely uncut, unaltered original '66 Bronco repainted with original Caribbean Turquoise color in EXCELLENT CONDITION.  Restored to its original condition, the only exception being a rebuilt bored-out 302 c.i. V8 block plus engine upgrades vs. the original 289 c.i. V8 completed about 500 miles ago.

Clean title, no wrecks, no rust, 4 WD.  Original three speed on the floor.  New suspension, new brakes, new shocks, new tires (including spare).  The engine has an Edelbrock intake manifold with a four-barrel carburetor, new exhaust headers, and new exhaust system and mufflers.  The valve covers are old-school Mickey Thompson.  New power steering, coil, and fuel pump as well.  Full restoration completed by the masters at Beach City Broncos with excellent paint.  Rear rumble seat with all three seats reupholstered, heavy duty roll bar repainted black, bikini top, and trickle charger.  This is a great value for the first year early Bronco in excellent condition.  Exterior in near perfect condition with absolutely no dings, dents, or scratches.  Half-cab top also repainted white without a scratch.  A true classic collector's vehicle that will continue to increase in value.

Full restoration began in 2009 and was just completed with the following work performed:

-Original turquoise exterior color (code 12876)
-Suspension, 6 Ranchero shocks, brakes, tires
-Rebuilt bored-out 302 Ford V8 engine, hoses, belts, etc.
-4 barrel carburator, headers, exhaust system
-Power steering
-Ignition coil
-Electric fuel pump
-Fuel sending unit/gas tank sensor on main tank
-Voltage regulator
-Fuel gauge
-Window gaskets, including vent window and all window seals
-Dash gauge cluster
-Rubber hood bumpers
-Signal switch
-Gaskets for around doors, above windshield, below top in rear, rear glass gasket
-Window regulators
-Ignition switch
-Exhaust pipe, muffler, tail pipe
-Clutch
-Both gas tanks
-Water pump
-Reupholstered fabric insert front and rear seat

This is a nearly flawless restoration with the following exceptions:
-Independent windshield wipers work sporadically
-AM radio works well but tuner dial doesn't move needle

These are both items I refuse to replace with new parts.  I have gone through much time and expense finding refurbished hardware for the entire restoration and I'm still on the hunt for these two items.

**Odometer is in working condition but not sure if 88,000 mileage is accurate, as the Bronco is nearly 50 yrs old.  Due to age and smog exemption, no odometer readings available through Carfax, Autocheck, etc.  I have no reason to believe this isn't the accurate mileage but simply can not guarantee it (just with any other classic that isn't original owner).**

Sale comes with approx. $30,000 in documented receipts (parts and PROFESSIONAL labor) organized in 3-ring binder.  This doesn't include the hours I have put into the restoration or the original sales price of the Bronco.  For questions please email.  I am more than happy to take additional pictures of any square inch requested.  Serious inquiries only please.

Project Ugly Horse: Part V

Mon, 11 Feb 2013

The Slippery Slope
I've had a healthy appreciation for cars that stop since one truly unfortunate incident with a runaway 1971 Lincoln Continental.
It's funny how quickly a party can turn from, "We're all having blast" to "What happened to the front of the house, and how many stitches do you think this is going to take?" Standing in a Mustang salvage shop in Kodak, Tennessee, I couldn't help but feel I had strayed into the latter territory with Ugly Horse. There was a supercharged 5.4-liter V8 plucked from a rear-ended Cobra sitting off to my left. The shelves were lined with second-hand Roush and SVT components galore, but I couldn't stop staring at a set of rotors with the approximate diameter of my chest.

Quitting Mexico factory helps bring down Ford earnings $200 million in 2016

Thu, Jan 26 2017

Ford released its 2016 earnings report this morning, and despite a fourth quarter net loss it proved to be the automaker's second most successful year ever, following record breaking numbers in 2015. Losses for the year come from a number of sources, including accounting changes and a $200 million hit for backing out of the small-car factory in San Luis Potosi, Mexico. Despite the loss, come March 9 about 56,000 UAW-represented employees will receive a $9,000 profit-sharing check. That, like most of Ford's other 2016 metrics, is slightly down from the year before, but it's still the second best profit-sharing payment ever. Total net income was $4.6 billion, down $2.8 billion from 2015. Total revenue for 2016 was $151.8 billion, up $2.2 billion. Ford's earnings report lists a global market share of 7.6 percent, down a tenth from 2015. Ford's European and Asia-Pacific markets posted their best and second best pre-tax profits respectively. The South American, Middle East, and African markets all took hits because of unstable economies and other external factors. Ford expects to have another down year in 2017 as it invests in new and emerging markets and focuses more on its mobility projects.Related Video: This content is hosted by a third party. Ford to build next F-150, outgoing model concurrently?

Wed, 24 Jul 2013

Ford is rumored to be considering concurrent production for old and new F-150 models in a bid to minimize supply chain disruptions and inventory. Automotive News is reporting that the Blue Oval will build both the current F-150 and its replacement, which we showed you testing just last month, side by side for about half a year before switching over entirely to next-generation production.
As IHS Automotive analyst Mike Jackson told AN, "In order to ramp up, you have to retool...and that means you have to take capacity offline." Building both models alongside could allow Ford to cope with the still strong demand for the current F-150, while populating dealer supplies and working out supply chain kinks for the new model before making a full-time switch.
A loss of capacity when demand is so strong, even for a short period, could spell bad news for Ford, which nets an estimated 90 percent of its global profit on pickups and large SUVs. As AN states, Ford produces the F-150 in both Kansas City, Missouri and Dearborn, Michigan, which allows it to maintain some degree of flexibility in production. The new F-150 is expected to arrive at the 2014 North American International Auto Show as a 2015 model, with a design inspired by the Atlas Concept first shown at the Detroit Auto Show last January.
