1966 Early Ford Bronco U13 Roadster Very Original, Needs To Be Restored on 2040-cars
Nashville, Tennessee, United States
I've had this Roadster over 4 years, but, because I have too many other projects, I'm offering it on Ebay. I think almost all of the paint (whats left) is original. The original 170 six cylinder, but the trans and t'case is still there. It's definately a project, but it's an original U13 with a lot of goodies. There's a lot of 66 specific and U13 parts, including the long t'case shifter and '66 only knob, good windshield frame with Whitco soft top riser, original tailgate, eyebrow grill, original inserts and backing plates, riser, rain gutter extensions, seat belts, fender mirror mount, 66 only front and rear bumpers, bulkhead, also the dash and pad are decent. The frame has surface rust, but not scale or rot through. It originally had a bench which got wet and rusted the floors. The posts are good and the kick panels are decent. The front floors and rear bed need replacing. The top is from another Bronco. It is junk and basically keeping the weather out. It has a '75 GA tag. I have everything needed to obtain a title for your state (proof of insurance, registration and bill of sale) Georgia vehicles from 1966 didn't have titles, again I have everything needed to obtain a title in your state. Contact me if you have questions or want more pictures. It is sold as is with no warranty. I have a transport company can deliver for around .75/mile. Do not bid if you have zero or negative feedback, unless you ask first or your bid will be retracted. The $500.00 deposit is non refundable. |

Ford readying three-row Edge for China
Fri, Nov 21 2014The next-generation Ford Edge will be available with quite a growth spurt for its debut in China next year, with newly announced plans also to build and sell a three-row version exclusively in the People's Republic. However, markets outside of there likely won't see the larger model. Ford marketing boss (and future head of Ford of Europe) Jim Farley announced the three-row version of the crossover at the Los Angeles Auto Show, according to Automotive News. To create the extra room, Ford made the Chinese-built variant about 16 inches longer than its two-row counterpart. Farley didn't specify at which of the Blue Oval's plants in the country this model would be assembled. The Explorer and forthcoming Everest already offer three rows from the Ford lineup in China, but the company thinks the market can easily support all of them. According to Farley to Automotive News, the utility segment is up 485 percent in the country since 2008. Customers in the US can still look forward to the two-row Edge hitting dealers early next year. It'll be the first model in the Blue Oval's lineup here to come standard with EcoBoost power.
Ford celebrating 80 years of Aussie utes as it prepares to shutter Oz manufacturing
Wed, 26 Feb 2014Ford is ending Australian production after 90 years in 2016, and with it may go perhaps the most iconic vehicles in its auto market - the ute. Car-based pickup trucks like the Ford Ranchero and Chevrolet El Camino were always more of a curiosity than a true market force here, but in Australia, they have long proven hugely popular.
As the legend goes, Ford invented the niche after a farmer's wife had asked Ford Australia's managing director for a more utilitarian car. Her request was simple: "My husband and I can't afford a car and a truck but we need a car to go to church on Sunday and a truck to take the pigs to market on Monday. Can you help?"
Ford's design team came up with a two-passenger, enclosed, steel coupe body with glass windows and a steel-paneled, wooden-frame load area in the rear. The sides of the bed were blended into the body to make it look more unified, and to keep costs down, the front end and interior were based on the Ford Model 40 five-window coupe. Power came from a V8 with shifting chores handled by a three-speed manual. Within a year, the new vehicle was ready, and production began in 1934. Lead designer Lewis Bandt christened it the coupe-utility.
Former Cadillac boss Butler takes Ford tech job
Tue, 07 Jan 2014When Don Butler made the surprising decision to leave his post as Cadillac's VP of global strategic development, it was a surprise. Citing a desire to "recalibrate, reassess my priorities" in that August announcement, it wasn't entirely clear where Butler - a virtual General Motors lifer after spending nearly 30 years with the company - would end up. Turns out he took a trip to Dearborn.
Butler has taken a position in the newly created position of Executive Director of Connected Vehicles and Services at Ford, where he'll be responsible for the Blue Oval's global connectivity strategy. "Not only does Don understand the connected car landscape, but probably just as important, he understands customer expectations," said Raj Nair, who, as Group Vice President of Global Product Development, is Butler's new boss. "Having a leader with technology experience both inside and outside the industry is a rare combination - we're excited to have Don join our team."
As Ford has received its fair share of flak for the sometimes recalcitrant MyFord Touch infotainment system and its Sync voice-controls, it appears that Butler has his work cut out for him.
