Custom 2001 Mustang SVT Cobra. This is an adult owned, never raced, clean title car.  There is almost $85k invested at this point…   I have receipts for most everything and a few spare parts to go with it.

The car has a 5.1 Liter all aluminum stroker motor in a Teksid block with forged internals that are safe to 8000 rpm. It is currently tuned to 7500 rpm, and with the ATI P1-SC supercharger @ 10psi of boost makes 532 rwhp with a very safe air/fuel ratio. The engine has ported Fox Lake stage-3 aluminum heads, big cams, ported aluminum intake manifold, steel Canton 7-quart roadracing baffled oil pan, Kooks stainless steel longtube headers and Bassani stainless steel X-pipe and cat-back exhaust. The car has an Accusump 3 quart hydraulic oil accumulator with an isolation valve for cold starts and hard driving, for total oil capacity of approximately 11 quarts, as well as an electric water pump. The drivetrain is a McLeod dual disc clutch in a Lakewood scattershield, G-Force 1200hp rated 6-speed T-56  transmission, custom steel driveshaft w. safety loop, Drive Shaft Shop 900hp rated half-shafts, a Torsen differential with Ford Racing 3.73 gears and a Billetflow differential brace.  The car has a full Maximum Motorsports suspension including welded tubular K-member/front sub frame w. remote oil filter kit, coil-overs with adjustable ride height both front and rear, Bilstein shocks/struts with the front struts recently rebuilt by Bilstein, tubular lower control arms, caster/camber plates, bumpsteer adjusters front and rear, polyurethane and aluminum suspension bushings, and chassis braces including welded in subframe connectors, K-member brace and strut tower brace. The car rides on Ford Racing 18" x 9.5" 2000 Cobra R wheels held on with ARP wheel bolts, Michelin PS2 Pilot Sport 275-40ZR18 tires, and has Wilwood 14" 2-piece 6 piston front brakes with Griggs Racing brake cooling ducts. At present, the car has approximately 13K miles on the new All Ford built motor, and approximately 23K miles on the new transmission and clutch. The following new parts were installed in approximately the last 10k miles: steering rack, Flaming River steering shaft, Procharger idler pulley, inner CV joints, alignment. The following new parts were installed in approximately the last 13K miles: Torsen differential, Wilwood 15" 2 piece 6-piston front brakes, Cobra fuel tank/fuel pump, A/C compressor, oil cooler.  There is not a lot left that's still stock on this car. The engine is making 532 rwhp with a very safe air/fuel ratio--which is about 620 hp at the crank. The supercharger currently on it is the one designed for the original factory 4.6L non-supercharged high compression motor, so it doesn't flow nearly as much air as this built engine could use. The supercharger can be rebuilt by ATI and upgraded to D1-SC internals for approximately $1K. With a 15psi pulley and a new dyno tune, this combination should make north of 800 hp, 650 hp at the wheels at least, but I just have not felt the need. The rest of the driveline has been built to take pretty much anything you could throw at it. This car is a blast on the back roads, yet I see as high as 26 mpg on the interstate. I have taken good care of her and the interior is in great condition, with new carpeting and a Ford Racing FR500 steering wheel, as well as an alarm system. The exterior does have a few scratches and chips, but overall the car really looks good. The odometer shows about 109k, but with the gear swap, it actually has right around 96k.  With just about the entire drivetrain, suspension and steering replaced in the last 23k miles, it isn't an issue anyway.  Most of the listed work was done by Jeff at All Ford Performance in Vancouver, WA. Consistently maintained and mechanically very good, all told, there is close to $85K into this project.  Although she's been a great car to have and to drive, changing priorities calls for a sale. I'd like to see her go to a good home, and this is your chance to get a lot of car for the money.

This 93-car Iowa auction is like a Big 3 classic muscle museum

Tue, Aug 27 2019

Bill "Coyote" Johnson has been buying cars since high school and has amassed a collection totaling 113 vehicles, according to NBC 6 News. But time has changed his motivations and priorities, and he's decided to auction 93 of those cars, many of which are classic muscle from Ford, Chevrolet, Dodge, Plymouth and Pontiac. The megasale will take place Sept. 14, 2019, in Red Oak, Iowa, at the Montgomery County Fairgrounds. A 1969 Plymouth Road Runner infected Coyote with a love for Detroit muscle when he was just a teenager, and his desire quickly turned into an obsession. He's spent the past 40 years finding, buying and working on a variety of makes and models. Unlike some collectors, Coyote didn't discriminate against certain brands and has rides from each of the Big 3 automakers. Included in the auction are Camaros, Satellites, Super Bees, Chargers, Challengers, Barracudas, Coronets, GTOs, Mustangs, Cutlasses and others. Possibly the most intriguing aspect of the auction is that all of these cars will be sold as-is with no reserve. Many of them will need work, depending on quality standards, but this seems like a golden opportunity to find a classic car without leaving a bank account in shambles.Β  The auctions are open for bidding online now, and the full auction will take place on September 14. Check out the full listings and bid at VanDerBrink Auctions.

Ford Australia debuts Ranger-based Everest SUV concept

Tue, 13 Aug 2013

Ford has been in hot water in Australia ever since it announced plans to end local production of the Falcon and Territory SUV. Besides canceling a model that is to Oz what the Mustang is to America, the end of production means more than a few folks will be out of work.
Keen to prove that it has a plan for the market, Ford has unveiled the Aussie-penned Everest Concept, a rough-and-tumble, seven-seat SUV. While not a direct replacement for the aging Territory (that role will eventually be filled by either the Edge or Flex, according to Car Advice) it's an indication from Ford's brass that the Blue Oval is still committed to Australia.
To prove that fact, Alan Mullaly, Mark Fields, Jim Farley and regional execs descended on Sydney for the debut of the new concept. Ford's Australian president and CEO, Bob Graziano, said of the Everest, "Our customers, our employees and Australia can be assured that we're connected to the nation and committed to our customers through terrific products with class-leading technologies."
