1959 Fiat Bianchina 500 Auto Bianchi
Transformable Parts Offered here is a Bianchina 500 microcar for parts
or project. Auto-Bianchi built the Bianchina based around a
Fiat 500 chassis. The Bianchina used the same Fiat 500 running gear with
the 497cc air cooled twin 2-cylinder engine. 4-speed gearbox. This Bianchina is mostly complete and would be
great for parts or a fun custom project. The car has rusty floors
and rust in some of the body. There has been tree damage done to
the passenger side roof and passenger door section. So it's a good
parts car, but, It could be made into a convertible? Electric?
Volkswagon power? or custom project. Please take a good look at the photos and you can
see all the trim, switches, front seat frames, rear seat cushions and assorted
goodies that are there. I also have parts I will include that are not shown
in the photos, such as, Transaxle, Top bows, Seat upholstery (for
patterns), Horn button, Original matching number engine (dis-assembled, may not
be complete or have all usable parts but I know the nice original crankcase
assembly with matching numbers to the body tag is in nice usable condition.
The lower end crankcase is all assembled and looks good. The cylinders,
pistons, head ??? not so sure of condition, but new replacements for these
parts are available. I should have all the cooling tin, splash pans,
generator and that sort of stuff.) Please remember this car is not 100%
complete, but pretty close. There is some small missing parts, including
mechanical, fasteners and trim stuff. Windshield and passenger door glass were broken
from the tree damage and I do not have replacements for these but the
windshield aluminum trim is there and can be seen in the photo sitting on the
back seat. All 5 tires are old, rotted and flat, includes spare
tire. Bianchina comes with clear California
title (pink slip) in my name, with matching numbers to chassis and engine,
car does not have current registration. A little history on this ’59 Bianchina:
My dad purchased this Bianchina in the early 1960’s for my mom when they were
dating. I rode around in the back of this car when I was
little. My dad installed the shift knob, radio, and tinted visors,
and current tires when he owned it 50 years ago. My folks sold the
Bianchina to a local fellow here in town. He used the car for a few
years then parked it out behind his home in the weeds for the next 17 years
where it acquired most of it’s rust after the top failed. I
purchased the Bianchina from him in the early 1980’s, gave it a spray can paint
job, and used the car here and there over the next few years. It
suffered the tree damage about 10 years ago while being stored up at my parents
house. I am selling this 1959 Bianchina as-is for parts. It
will include signed title and bill of sale. Full payment due within
2-days of end of auction. Payment can be made via Paypal. Buyer to arrange and pay for all
shipping, transporting and handling of this vehicle. Vehicle needs
to be removed within 7-days of end of auction unless other arraingments have
been made with me, and everything must be removed at same time. Thanks so much for bidding on this neat little microcar. |

Fiat Chrysler recalls 1.33 million vehicles over fire, air bag risks
Fri, Jul 14 2017WASHINGTON - Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV said on Friday it is recalling 1.33 million vehicles worldwide in two separate campaigns for potential fire risks and inadvertent airbag deployments. The Italian-American automaker said it is recalling about 770,000 sport utility vehicles because of a wiring issue that may lead to inadvertent deployment of the driver-side air bag and is linked to reports of five related minor injuries, but no crashes. The company said wiring could chafe against pieces of steering-wheel trim, potentially causing a short-circuit and ultimately leading to an inadvertent air bag deployment. The issue could also cause unintended windshield wiper operation or inoperable switches. The recall covers 538,000 2011-2015 Dodge Journey vehicles in North America and 233,000 2011-2015 Fiat Freemont crossovers sold elsewhere. Dealers will inspect and replace the wiring, as needed and equip it with additional protective covering. The automaker is also recalling 565,000 vehicles to replace their alternators because of fire risks. The company said hot ambient temperatures could lead to premature diode wear, may result in a burning odor or smoke, could impact the anti-lock braking system or lead to engine stalls. The company said it is aware of two potentially related accidents but no injuries. The recall covers 2011-2014 model year Chrysler 300, Dodge Charger and Dodge Challenger cars and Dodge Durango SUVs and 2012-2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee SUVs. In October, Fiat Chrysler recalled about 86,000 Ram 2500 and 3500 pickup trucks, 3500, 4500 and 5500 chassis cabs from the 2007-2013 model years and 2011-2014 Dodge Charger Pursuit sedans for the same alternator issue. Fiat Chrysler said at the time one minor injury was related to the recall. Dealers will replace the alternators. Officine Abarth Classiche dedicated to Scorpion heritage
Fri, Nov 20 2015It was only nine years ago that Fiat launched the Abarth brand as its dedicated performance division. But it didn't pull the name and logo out of thin air. Though it was essentially dormant for years, the Scorpion marque has a long history of tuning Italian pocket rockets for both road and race. And now it's launched a dedicated heritage division to manage its considerable history. Opening this week, the new Officine Abarth Classiche program will be responsible, among other things, for the restoration of vintage Abarth vehicles and the certification of their mechanical authenticity. Similar to the Ferrari Classiche department, private owners of classic Abarths will be able to send their pride and joy to the factory for service, maintenance, and restoration at the hands of factory technicians and with the benefit of the company's own archives. Work will be undertaken in a dedicated, thousand-square-foot workshop at the Mirafiori Abarth factory in Turin, and will of course include Abarth-tuned Fiats. But the program is also open to all the various Lancias, Alfa Romeos, Autobianchis, and Cisitalias fettled over the years by the Italian performance studio - to say nothing of the Zagato and Ghia prototypes. Beyond restoration, Officine Abarth Classiche will also organize special events for owners of vintage Abarth machinery, and undertake a comprehensive Abarth registry. It has also commissioned a book on the history of the marque, recreated company founder Carlo Abarth's office at the Mirafiori workshop, and even signed on Carlo's widow Anneliese Abarth to serve as a brand ambassador. It's an ambitious undertaking, and you can read about it in full – along with some history of the name – in the full press release below. Federal grand jury issues subpoenas to U.S. FCA dealers
Wed, Jul 27 2016Despite an attempt to clarify and backtrack, it seems the investigation into Fiat Chrysler Automobile's false sales reporting is picking up steam. According to Automotive News, FCA dealers and regional offices have received subpoenas ordering them to supply documents and testimony to a grand jury in Detroit. Of course, the dealers are objecting to the request. They claim the subpoenas are too broad and would require them to hand over too much personal information, like personal phone numbers of dealer employees going back years. The group wants to make it clear that FCA has clarified its sales reporting and that the issue is with the manufacturer, not dealers. The dealers say that FCA employee records and testimony should be enough. It's rumored that a dealer group is the one that sparked the investigation in the first place. FCA confirmed on July 18 that it indeed was under investigation by a number of federal agencies. Although they've clarified their position regarding sales reporting, the fraud investigation continues full steam. Related Video:
