2013 Fiat 500 Abarth on 2040-cars

2013 Fiat Abarth 500! I purchased this car new this past January and have enjoyed every second of owning it! It has slept in a nice dry garage since it was purchased to this day. The car comes factory with a 1.4L 4 cylinder that is turbocharged with a Garrett turbocharger. When in sport mode the motor produces 160HP and 170 FT Lbs of torque at 18 PSI! The car is a joy to drive, everyone who rides in it just smiles and laughs the whole time. Its a very misleading car. The car also gets 30mpg!  If you have driven the regular Fiat 500 it does not compare to the Abarth. The Abarth is a completely different car.  Acceleration in this is exciting, boost is instantaneous and there is power throughout the whole power band. The best feature though has to be the exhaust. The fiat engineers spend countless hours perfecting it. Everywhere I go people are surprised when I say the exhaust is stock.

This specific car is pretty much new, it only has about 6000 miles (view photo for most recent mileage). The car has a few minor rock chips that aren't noticeable unless if you really look for them in the proper light. As seen in the pictures they aren't noticeable. The car also has a tiny dent in the drivers fender that isn't noticeable in most angles. I have included a photo of said dent. I have changed the wheels to a set of 16x8 Varrstoen V3. They are wrapped in Kumo ECSTA XS Tires, which have around 1000 miles of use. Along with the wheels the car has upgraded suspension. BC Coilovers were installed before the car had 1000 miles. BC Coilovers have 30 way adjustable dampening, along with ride height adjustability. If you aren't familiar with BC I suggest you take some time to research their product as they make some of the best coilovers in the business. The car does include the stock wheels, tires, and suspension components so the new owner can decide which route to take. The car has full warranty and with the sale of the car is included the "Abarth experience" which is a track day that all new Abarths come with, the new owner will get to pick the date! The car is currently financed so the buyer and I will have to coordinate to make arrangements with the bank. Below I have included a link to my photobucket account. Take a look for additional pictures.

This Or That: Fiat 500 Abarth vs. Ford Fiesta ST [w/poll]

Thu, 21 Aug 2014

They're pretty darn similar. And yet our views are oh so different.
If you guys could read the transcripts of our editors' chat room, you'd know that we're a pretty argumentative bunch. It's always good-spirited stuff (well, usually), but when we're not obsessively covering this or that, we're usually fighting about one car being better than another. We're all enthusiasts here, and our automotive tastes run the gamut from the weird and unusual to the decidedly mainstream - we all feel strongly about specific cars in a given segment. While it usually makes for good conversation, if we're passionate enough, it can turn into a tomato-throwing showdown.

Dodge not being dropped by Chrysler, CEO reaffirms

Mon, 16 Sep 2013

Dodge isn't going anywhere. Despite some rumor and speculation over the future of the crosshair grille and the cars that wear it, Dodge brand boss, Tim Kuniskis, sat down with TheDetroitBureau.com, explaining that the marque isn't going anywhere. His sentiments echo those of SRT boss Ralph Gilles, who told a group of enthusiasts in July that "Dodge is here to stay!"
Dodge's death won't be "a part of a master plan to consolidate brands," Kuniskis told TheDetroitBureau.com. Instead, the brand, which is ultimately under the command of Fiat/Chrysler CEO, Sergio Marchionne, will likely ditch some of its badge-engineered models, like the Dodge Grand Caravan. A more focused Dodge, which was something Gilles has already hinted at, will likely see it exploring areas of the market that haven't been exploited by other Chrysler brands.
Kuniskis, not surprisingly, wasn't willing to delve into any detailed product plans, telling TDB that the size of the brand's lineup "remains to be seen." Regardless of how big the brand actually ends up being (it is presently Chrysler's volume brand - and not by a little), hopefully the statements from Kuniskiss can put the rumors of a Dodge closure to bed.

Is your new-car warranty good at the race track?

Mon, Feb 27 2017

We've all heard the horror stories. Your buddy knows a girl that was dating a guy whose best friend's brother once broke his brand-new, recently purchased performance car while making runs at a drag strip or laps at a track day, and the manufacturer wouldn't cover the repair under warranty. True story? Urban legend? Complete crap? Yes, no, maybe. One thing's for sure: Automotive warranties have always come with caveats. In 1908, an ad in the Trenton Evening Times clearly stated: "All Ford Cars Guaranteed for One Year." Although it changed over time, by 1925 the Ford New Car Guarantee only covered 90 days on material and 30 days on labor, and it clearly stated that that there was "No guarantee whatever on Fan Belts, Glass, Bulbs, Wiring, Transmission, Bands, Hose Connections, Commutator Shells, Rollers, Spark Plugs or Gaskets." Whether or not Ol' Henry would pay to fix your Model T if you broke it shaving a tenth off your lap time at the local board track seems to be lost to history. We're guessing no. But what about today? Do new-car warranties in 2017 cover cars when they are driven on race tracks? We researched the warranties of 14 auto brands to find out, and the answer is yes, no, maybe, depending on the brand, in some cases the model, and whether or not your car is modified from stock. Acura has been out of the high-performance car game for a number of years, but jumps back into the party in 2017 with its hybrid-powered $173,000 NSX supercar. And Acura's warranty, as well as Honda's, clearly states that it does not cover "the use of the vehicle in competition or racing events." View 33 Photos So we asked Sage Marie, Senior Manager of Public Relations for Honda and Acura. "If the car is stock, the warranty covers it on a track just as it does on the street. No question," he told us. "However, if the car is modified, say with slick tires or other components that would put higher stresses on the vehicle's parts and systems, then we would have to investigate the circumstances further." Marie went on to say the same would be true for any Acura model or Honda vehicle, including the new 2017 Honda Civic Si. This became a common theme. Chevrolet actually started this practice with the fifth-generation Camaro on the high-performance ZL1 and Z/28 models.
