I am selling my Abarth because I hate to see it sitting around. This vehicle was primarily owned by my older brother, he is an avid car enthusiast. I am a certified automotive technician and thus I preformed all the labor and modifications per all manufacturers' specifications. The wheels and tires were mounted elsewhere, as my shop does not have tire mounting and balancing equipment.
This Fiat Abarth is highly modified with astonishing power, handling and reliability alike. The equal length half-shafts provide equal power transfer to the road; this eliminates the common torque steer problem found in most high performance FWD vehicles. This car is very fast, it is road worthy, but it wouldn't take much work by the new owner to bring it up to competition track standards. The original manufacturer's warranty still stands. The following is a list of modifications performed:
EXTERIOR:
-All chrome trim painted body color (door handles, rear hatch handle)
-Lester carbon fiber front badge
-Rear badge shaved/filled
-Rear windshield wiper delete
-Autoplus Japan carbon fiber roof spoiler
-35% tint
-Scorpion badges removed from fenders
-OEM 500t tinted headlights, taillights & turn signals (OEM European Models)
-500madness.com 4500k HID kit
 INTERIOR:
-Seamless rear seat delete
-Neu-f short shift adapter
SUSPENSION/BRAKES:
-Kw v1 coilovers (includes tool kit)
-Rrm tubular chassis braces
-Nue-f front sway bar (adjustable)
-Nue-f rear torsion bar
-RRM brake pads (Additional set of pads included)
PERFORMANCE: -Magnetti Merreli Piggyback ECU with remote (Includes both stock 87 & 91/93 octane tune)
-ATM cold air intake (no puddle-sucking)
-ATM intercooler
-RRM exhaust
WHEELS: 16x8.5 CCW LM12 in gunmetal w/brushed lips Freshly polished
(OE wheels and tired included)
I have averaged 27-28 MPG average using the high performance tune and 93 octane fuel.

Fiat version of Mazda MX-5 Miata to be called 124 Spider

Fri, Mar 6 2015

Fiat has a definite use for its recent US trademark on the 124 Spider name, and it's something that should make many performance fans quite happy. FCA CEO Sergio Marchionne confirmed to Auto Express that the Italian brand's future roadster would bear the classic name. Auto Express reportedly asked Marchionne directly about the convertible at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show. The CEO said: "Do we want to do it now?" After another executive verified the name, Marchionne responded: "There you go – a world class premiere right in this room!" Autoblog reached out to Fiat Brand communications boss in the US Ariel Gavilan for more information, and he verified the story. Gavilan said that brand head Olivier Francois confirmed the 124 Spider name to international media during a briefing in Geneva. FCA isn't going quite so far as officially confirming that the 124 Spider shares a platform with the latest Mazda MX-5 Miata, but that's almost a certainty. The two automakers jointly developed the chassis, and the original plan was for it to underpin an Alfa Romeo. However, Marchionne didn't want an Alfa assembled outside of Italy. Fiat even hinted at this possible change as far back as the corporation's five-year plan last summer. Insiders tell Auto Express that the 124 Spider reportedly carries retro-inspired style, and hopefully, that means the roadster evokes the look of the original 124 Sport Spider (pictured above) by Pininfarina. Fiat allegedly is also aiming for a weight less than 2,205 pounds, and the engine range is likely comprised of versions of the brand's 1.4-liter turbo. The mill already pumps out 160 horsepower and 183 pound-feet of torque in the Fiat 500 Abarth in the US. According to Auto Express, Fiat and Mazda have an agreement to launch the Miata in 2015 and the 124 Spider in 2016. A hotter Abarth version could come along eventually, too. Related Video:

Marchionne uses racial epithet to describe what must power future Alfa Romeo models

Wed, 16 Jan 2013

Sergio Marchionne and his Fiat empire have a lot riding on the US return of the Alfa Romeo brand. The endeavor has been in progress for what feels like a lifetime - certainly for as long as Fiat has had the Chrysler brand under its Italian wing.
It's not surprising that Fiat CEO Marchionne needs a perfect first Alfa to mark a return to America. And here's where things get dicey. Nobody would argue with Marchionne's insistence that Alfa Romeo's be powered by Italian engines - as Marchionne himself is quoted to have said at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show, "There are some things that are well done in Italy."
If not what he said, then, it's how he said it that has eyebrows raised. "I cannot come up with a schlock product, I just won't. I won't put an American engine into that car. With all due respect to my American friends, it needs to be a wop engine." Wait, what's that?

Fiat's Marchionne ponders Chrysler going public again

Mon, 04 Mar 2013

Fiat boss Sergio Marchionne says there's a real possibility that its majority-owned Chrysler Group may eventually return to the ranks of publicly traded companies. According to Bloomberg, the Fiat and Chrysler CEO gives that a "50 percent chance" of happening, but he doesn't appear to favor that scenario: "My preference is to be one single company... we belong together."
Marchionne has seemingly been operating under the assumption that Fiat will eventually own all of Chrysler, working to buy up the shares it doesn't own and looking to buy out the retiree trust fund that it shares Chrysler ownership with. Certainly, Chrysler going independent again would be increasingly difficult, as the companies continue to blend products, technologies, facilities and staffing, a trend started immediately after the Italian automaker became custodian of the brand following Chrysler's bankruptcy in 2009.
Marchionne's remarks to the media came at Chrysler's Kokomo, Indiana plant, where he was on hand to announce a major investment at four facilities in the state to build eight- and nine-speed automatic transmissions.
