1965 Fiat 500 F W/650cc on 2040-cars
Yellow Springs, Ohio, United States
Up for auction is a head turning 1965 Fiat 500 F for you to enjoy this summer! This is a running car and is ready to be driven. This has an upgraded engine, 650cc. This gives it plenty of power to cruise the back roads at 55 mph with ease and enjoyment. Has front seat belts, aftermarket steering wheel, and a sharp looking interior. History. I bought this 4 years ago from a man in Texas who bought it in Italy while stationed there . I am unsure if he had the engine upgrade, interior, and paint done at his request or if it was like that when he purchased it. The only thing I have done is cleaned the carb/replaced float and put a new starter on it over the last 4 years. I am selling the car because I am moving out of the country and am cannot take the car with me. I bought this car on eBay after searching literally for years to find the "right one", so here is your chance to purchase a nice example of a classic 500. This is a solid car. Mechanically the car is great, fires right up, and handles well. Paint is older and has some chips, scratches and some spidering. However from pictures you can see overall looks great (won best Fiat at the 2011 and 2012 "Italian Gathering" car show in Ohio). Interior condition is pictured. There is some wear on carpet in particular near top of gas pedal. Keys for doors and ignition, no key for engine lid lock. Some scratches on glass. I got caught in the rain once on way to a car show and realized it could use some new door seals; but since this is a nice weather car for me, I never bothered replacing. Turn signal relay works intermittently and you may want to swap it out. Note, odometer states 74966 km, title lists mileage as "exempt"; I am unsure of mileage since rebuild. Car is located about 30 min outside Dayton, Ohio. Car is available for inspection by you or your mechanic. This car is sold as is with no warranty expressed or implied. I have a clear title in hand. $1000 nonrefundable deposit due via paypal within 24 hrs of auction close. Full payment due within 3 days. The price of shipping of the car and all the shipment planning/details are the full responsibility of the buyer. If you have any questions, you can contact me by phone, evenings no later than 10 pm eastern please, 937.319.6129.

Fiat brings raft of special-edition hatchbacks to Geneva
Wed, Feb 25 2015The annual Geneva Motor Show presents a prime opportunity for any automaker – European ones especially – to show off new metal. You'd figure that would include the sprawling Fiat Chrysler Automobiles group, but instead, one of Europe's largest automakers will be presenting a series of special-edition hatchbacks for the European market. Yeah, we're as disappointed as you are. First up is the Fiat division itself, which will be showcasing the Vintage '57 edition of the 500 and the Panda K-Way. The former puts an even more retro spin on the already-retro hatchback, with a two-tone pastel blue-and-white exterior, 16-inch white-and-chrome wheels and a tobacco-leather interior. The latter was designed in collaboration with the famous rainwear label, K-Way, and features mix-and-match exterior color combinations, titanium-finish trim and a specially crafted interior. Alfa Romeo will be celebrating the European debut of the 4C Spider we already saw in Detroit. In terms of new debuts, Alfa also has the elegant Collezione edition of the Giuletta and the MiTo Racer edition with gray and brown trim that looks, at first blush at least, much more subtle than the name would convey. Though no longer a major player in the Fiat portfolio, Lancia is showcasing the 30th Anniversary and Elle editions of the Ypsilon – the car that in its own words, "Italian women love more than any other." Jeep is showing the Renegade with new powertrain options, and Abarth has updated its range of 500-based hot hatches, but for something new and exciting, it looks like we'll be passing right by the Fiat section at the Geneva Palexpo this year. Fiat Chrysler target 850k sales in China by 2018
Sun, 11 May 2014Behind the vanguard of numerous Jeep models, two Chryslers, a smattering of Fiats and Alfa Romeos and local production through a joint venture with Guangzhou Automotive Group (GAG), Fiat Chrysler wants to increase sales in China more than six-fold by 2018. The group sold 130,000 cars in China in 2013, the aim for 2018 being 850,000 cars.
Ultimately it's expected that the Jeep Grand Cherokee, Cherokee, Wrangler, Renegade, the coming Grand Wagoneer and a sub-Renegade-sized crossover will either be built in or exported to the People's Republic. The Chrysler Town & Country and 300 will join the export list in 2016 and 2018 respectively, according to a report in Automotive News.
With a number of those vehicles not in production or perhaps even envisaged yet, and others not due on the local market until 2018, it will be interesting to see how Fiat Chrysler plans to achieve the target in the specified timeframe. The joint venture with GAG builds two products now, the Dodge Dart-based Fiat Viaggio launched two years ago - supposedly designed just for China - and the just-launched Fiat Ottimo, a hatchback version of the Viaggio. Fiat projected 300,000 Viagio sales in its first two years, that number has been adjusted downward to 94,000 and there doesn't appear to be an analyst alive that sees a good future for Fiat in China's overrun mainstream market. Still, last year's 130,000 group sales in China is a huge jump from 2012 sales of 66,000 units, but less than half the 300,000 units it projected.
Honda poised for growth, Detroit to hold steady, Car Wars study says
Fri, Jun 5 2015The automotive industry is expected to keep booming in the US over the next several years, but the train might start running out of steam in the long term, according to 2015's Car Wars report from Bank of America Merrill Lynch analyst John Murphy. The forecast focuses on changes between the 2016 and 2019 model years, and the latest trends appear similar in some cases to the past predictions. Sales are expected to keep growing and reach a peak of 20 million in 2018, according to the Detroit Free Press. The expansion is projected to come from a quick pace of vehicle launches, with an average of 48 introductions a year – 26 percent more than in 1996. Crossovers are expected to make up a third of these, maintaining their strong popularity. However, Murphy predicts a decline, as well. By 2025, total sales could fall to around 15 million units. As of May 2015, the seasonally adjusted annual rate for this year stands at 17.71 million. Like last year, Honda is predicted to be a big winner in the future thanks to products like the next-gen Civic. "Honda should be the biggest market share gainer," Murphy said when presenting the report, according to Free Press. Meanwhile, in a situation similar to Car Wars from 2012, a lack of many new vehicles is expected to cause a drop for Hyundai, Kia, and Nissan. Based on this forecast, Ford, General Motors, and FCA US will all generally maintain market share for the coming years. The report does make some future product predictions, though. The next Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra might come in 2019, which is earlier than expected. Also, Lincoln could get a Mustang-based coupe for 2017, a compact sedan for 2018 and an Explorer-based model in 2019, according to the Free Press.
