You are bidding on a very clean, original, and well maintained 1987 Ferrari Testarossa with a clean CarFax. The iconic 12 cylinder 4.9L Testarossa has become very collectable in the last couple of years and prices, as with all classic Ferrari's, are going up so now is the time to buy before they become out of reach.
The paint on this car is 100% original with no sign whatsoever of even a minor touch-up. The overall condition of this 26 year old paint is excellent. There are no dents, scratches, or door dings anyplace on the car. There are what I would consider less than the normal amount of small chips that you would typically expect on a car of this age and miles and they are mostly on the front black spoiler, there is a small chip on the front of the right fender, a small chip on the leading edge of the front boot, and 2 small chips on the right side rear wheel well edge. All in all extremely minor.
The interior is tan leather, original, and in overall very good condition. There is only minimal wear on the drivers seat that you would expect and as with all light colored interiors the grain of the leather is becoming more visible. The passenger seat is near perfect. These seats can be professionally dyed their original color and they would look like new seats. The carpets, dash, and door panels, are original and in very good condition as well. There is some minor wear on the drivers side sill and with the drivers side door weatherstrip from getting in and out of the car. The stereo has been upgraded to an Alpine AM/FM/CD with an Alpine amplifier and 12 disc changer in the boot. Everything on this car works including the ice cold AC, power shoulder belt retractors, power windows, lights, gauges, wipers, etc. Options include 18 inch Speedline wheels, Momo steering wheel, Tubi stainless steel exhaust, passenger side mirror, and shields.
Mechanically this car is in excellent condition. It runs and drives perfect and just recently passed an emissions test with ease. The steering is tight, the brakes are solid with lots of meat on the pads, and it runs and drives excellent. The tires are almost new Bridgestone Potenza's all the way around. The car is due for a belt service by time and not miles. I have not sent it out for the service as many people would prefer to have their own mechanic preform the service and the car has been priced accordingly. However, at the buyer's discretion and expense I would be happy to assist in having a local Ferrari shop of the buyer's choice or one known by me and with the buyer's consent preform the service.
This car is being offered exactly how we received it so that the buyer can decide on weather to keep it as original as possible or what and where to recondition. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me via e-mail or at (714) 535-8555 before bidding. The winning bidder is required to place a $500.00 deposit via PayPal within 24 hours of the end of auction with the balance due via wire transfer within 5 business days from the end of auction. Any other arrangements for payment must be agreed to in writing and before hand. It is the buyer's responsibility to arrange shipping but we would be happy to assist in this. Vehicles sold for use and/or registration in California will have all applicable fees and taxes due in addition to the amount of the willing bid. This car is for sale locally and we reserve the right to end this auction early in the event it sells. Thanks and good luck!

Ferrari 488 Spider turbocharges the topless life [w/video]
Tue, Jul 28 2015As expected, Ferrari has followed the Geneva debut of the new 488 GTB with the introduction of the 488 Spider convertible. Like the hardtop model, the new Spider builds on the old 458 cabriolet. The retractable hardtop has been retained for the new model, slated to debut at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show. But thanks to the new aluminum spaceframe, the 488 Spider's torsional rigidity has been increased by 23 percent over its predecessor, promising even sharper handling. The powered roof can be stowed in just 14 seconds. Beyond that, the 488 Spider boasts the same goodies as the hardtop model. A 3.9-liter, twin-turbocharged, flat-plane crank V8 sits amidships, sending 661 horsepower and 560 pound-feet of torque to the rear wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. Even in this roofless model, 62 miles per hour arrives in just 3.2 seconds, compared to an even three seconds in 488 GTB. The top speed is a toupee-eradicating 203 miles per hour. Prices, not surprisingly, have not been published. You can look forward to much, much more on the 488 Spider when it makes its grand debut in September, at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show. Until then, check out the launch video for the new droptop, as well as the official press release from Ferrari. The Ferrari 488 Spider: performance and effortless driving for maximum drop-top fun Official unveiling scheduled for Frankfurt Motor Show Maranello, 28 July 2015 – Ferrari announces the launch of the 488 Spider, its most powerful ever mid-rear-engined V8 car to feature the patented retractable hard top along with the highest level of technological innovation and with cutting-edge design. Ferrari was the first manufacturer to introduce the RHT (Retractable Hard Top) on a car of this particular architecture. This solution ensures lower weight (-25 kg) and better cockpit comfort compared to the classic fabric soft-top. Just like all previous spider versions of Ferrari's models, this is a car that is aimed squarely at clients seeking open-air motoring pleasure in a high-performance sports car with an unmistakable Ferrari engine sound. Every area of the car has been designed to set new technological benchmarks for the sector: from the aluminum spaceframe chassis and bodyshell to the new turbo-charged V8, aerodynamics that reconcile the need for greater downforce with reduced drag along with the specific cabin air flow demands of an open- top car, and vehicle dynamics that render it fast, agile and instantly responsive.
Ferrari 250 GTO could fetch as much as $75 million at auction
Wed, 13 Aug 2014Last month we reported on a Ferrari 250 GTO heading for the auction block at Pebble Beach. We knew at the time it would break records and bring in tens of millions of dollars. But now that the gavel is about to drop, it looks like even our projections could fall short.
According to a report on Bloomberg, citing the classic car authorities at Hagerty Insurance, the GTO in question (pictured above) could fetch upwards of $60 million and as much as $75 million when the auction takes place two days from now in Monterey, CA.
Hagerty's reported estimate would not only blow the previous records out of the water, but would eclipse the pre-sale estimate attributed to Bonhams, the auction house handling its sale, which placed its value between $30 million and $40 million.
F1 teams to test titanium skid plates to reignite spark in series
Sun, 22 Jun 2014The 2014 Formula One season opened with one overwhelming complaint - the cars didn't sound right. It sapped the excitement, despite the fact that this season has seen a number of truly thrilling races (Bahrain, Spain and Montreal all come to mind). Attempts have been made to restore some of the audible thrill of the cars, although efforts have remained unsuccessful.
If F1 can't fix the sound of the cars, then other methods need to be considered to restore its self-perceived lack of excitement. One of those involves fitting titanium skid plates to the cars in a bid to reintroduce the sparks that were so prevalent in the sport's past.
Mercedes-AMG and Ferrari conducted initial experiments with the new skid plates during early practice sessions for the 2014 Austrian Grand Prix. Kimi Raikkonen and Nico Rosberg had the plates fitted to different locations of their cars, in a bid to see which created the most dramatic sparks. Considering the photos the tests, though, neither Mercedes' nor Ferrari's setup really seemed successful, which is why you're seeing Johnny Herbert and his 1989 Benneton B188 up top.
