Restored Ferrari Testarossa on 2040-cars

US $72,000.00
Year:1987 Mileage:25100 Color: is extremely clean
Location:

If you have been looking for a Testarossa and want to know what your getting, here's your chance. This was a fairly nice car when I got it from a customer that owed me a lot of money. Having the tendency to never leave well enough alone, I wanted to make it as close to new as possible.

The VIN is ZFFTA17T0G0065561

The nice thing about this car compared to most TR's is the interior is Cream and Black instead of Tan and Brown. The Cream and Rosso Corsa look very nice together and the black dash sets it off nicely.

The Interior was removed and the seats completely disassembled and each part refinished. It still smells like a new car. It is obvious the original owners did not smoke while snorting cocaine off the vanity mirror - LOL

The Exterior is extremely clean. The hood and fenders had some road rash and have been refinished. The wheels are perfect. There is no curb rash on either the front spoiler or rear valence. The passenger side fog light lens has a crack on one corner. Other than that, there is little to nit-pick. The electric window gear boxes were disassembled, cleaned of the old dry grease and reassembled with new grease to avoid typical stripping of the gears which are no longer available.

The Engine is strong and free from any peculiarities and the brakes are perfect. The car runs hard up to whatever speed your driver's license can take and stops hard and straight. It has had only road testing miles since having a FULL major service that included all new ingition components including distributor caps, rotors, and plug wires at great expense. Obviously all belts were replace at the time as well as the belt tensioners. The water pump was fully rebuilt at the time. All hoses were done, also. All work was done at Evans Automotive in Columbus, Ohio.

The suspension performs like new in every way. There are no squeaks, rattles, or vibrations and the ride is highly controlled yet very supple for how flat the car stays in turns. The steering is tight and perfect.

The transmission needed work so Evans completely rebuilt it. This was a total rebuild that not only included the standard seals, synchros and bearings, but also new gears. ALL parts used were ORIGINAL FERRARI with no aftermarket or counterfeit parts that are common to the trade. The differential carrier and housing was perfect with none of the common failures or cracks.

The clutch is completely new, including the flywheel, pressure plate, friction disc and release bearing. That was expensive.

The total cost of all of the above work was $37,600 and I have all the receipts and invoices to prove it.

There is no sign the car has ever been in an accident.

So there you have it. If you have questions or want to see the car in my shop, send me an ebay message and i'll send you my phone number back.

Payment will need to be in the form of a wire transfer before car can be picked up. A $1,000.00 deposit via Paypal is required for the buy-it-now. I can assist in shipping, if needed. I have bought and sold a few nice cars and have good sources.

Ferrari boss Montezemolo expects big changes from FIA

Mon, 02 Dec 2013

You'd think that with former Ferrari principal Jean Todt running the FIA, the relationship between the motorsport governing body and the team he once called home would be a solid one. But his former boss expects more from the organization that overseas Formula One.
In a recent interview (excerpts from which you can read below), Ferrari chairman Luca di Montezemolo pointed to some perceived inconsistencies in rulings made by FIA officials this season and called for "strong changes." Among those controversies was a drive-through penalty handed to Felipe Massa at the season-closing Brazilian Grand Prix last weekend, his last for the Scuderia. Massa was reprimanded for cutting across the white line that marks the exit from the pit lane, the penalty for which dropped him from fourth place in the race to seventh, and cost Ferrari its second place in the final standings for the constructors' championship - and with it a good $10 million in prize money. Montezemolo characterized the penalty as "disproportionate and unjust".
The Ferrari chief also pointed to penalties handed to Mercedes as either too harsh or not harsh enough, calling for greater consistency in FIA rulings and implying that more permanent race stewards be appointed instead of alternating race to race.

FCA is setting a five-year strategy: Here's how the last one played out

Thu, May 31 2018

We're slightly more than four years removed from Sergio Marchionne last five-year plan for FCA, a tell-all where the Italian-American automaker divulged its plans for the 2014 through 2018 model years. It was a grand affair, where Sergio told FCA investors that all was right in Auburn Hills, Alfa Romeo and Maserati were making comebacks, and the fifth-gen Dodge Viper received a mid-cycle refresh. You can read every last one of those past predictions right here. We're on our way to Europe to see Sergio's sequel, coming out Friday straight from FCA's Italian headquarters. (Bloomberg reports a plan to expand Jeep and Ram globally, combine Alfa Romeo and Maserati into a single division for an eventual spinoff, and downsizing Fiat and Chrysler. Also, EVs.) But before we arrive in Italy and find out exactly what Marchionne has planned for 2019 through 2023 as his last act as CEO, let's take a minute to tally up the results of his last term based on the same scoresheet we used in 2014. Now, we're only five months into 2018, so much of this — including vehicles like the Ram HD and Jeep Grand Wagoneer — could still debut this year. For those, we'll mark things TBD. We're not going to draw any conclusions or make any objectionable remarks. We're simply going to let the stats speak for themselves.

New Zealander builds 1962 Ferrari GTO replica in chicken shed

Thu, Feb 5 2015

The Ferrari 250 GTO is one of the most gorgeous vehicles ever made, but with just 39 produced, they're also some of the most expensive cars in the world, often setting records when they occasionally come up for auction. The eye-watering price presents an insanely steep barrier of entry to ownership, which has led at least one buyer to pursue a different option: simply creating his own. While the beautiful example in the video above isn't an authentic, original Ferrari, the story behind this replica goes far beyond some cheap knockoff slapped together haphazardly. Surrounded by crowing roosters and waddling ducks, Rod Temporo doesn't immediately strike you as a guy who would be building exacting replica racers in his shed. However, first impressions aren't always accurate, and Temporo is a maestro when it comes to metalwork. He has been doing this for decades and has recreated all sorts of vintage vehicles, including a beautiful Jaguar XJ13. Temporo and his team are true artisans. They make their own wood bucks for the body and then bang out the metal body with hammers and an English wheel. According to the video, it took them about four years to complete this 1962 GTO replica starting from scratch. The end result is a piece of automotive art.
