Restored Ferrari Testarossa on 2040-cars

If you have been looking for a Testarossa and want to know what your getting, here's your chance. This was a fairly nice car when I got it from a customer that owed me a lot of money. Having the tendency to never leave well enough alone, I wanted to make it as close to new as possible. The VIN is ZFFTA17T0G0065561 The nice thing about this car compared to most TR's is the interior is Cream and Black instead of Tan and Brown. The Cream and Rosso Corsa look very nice together and the black dash sets it off nicely. The Interior was removed and the seats completely disassembled and each part refinished. It still smells like a new car. It is obvious the original owners did not smoke while snorting cocaine off the vanity mirror - LOL The Exterior is extremely clean. The hood and fenders had some road rash and have been refinished. The wheels are perfect. There is no curb rash on either the front spoiler or rear valence. The passenger side fog light lens has a crack on one corner. Other than that, there is little to nit-pick. The electric window gear boxes were disassembled, cleaned of the old dry grease and reassembled with new grease to avoid typical stripping of the gears which are no longer available. The Engine is strong and free from any peculiarities and the brakes are perfect. The car runs hard up to whatever speed your driver's license can take and stops hard and straight. It has had only road testing miles since having a FULL major service that included all new ingition components including distributor caps, rotors, and plug wires at great expense. Obviously all belts were replace at the time as well as the belt tensioners. The water pump was fully rebuilt at the time. All hoses were done, also. All work was done at Evans Automotive in Columbus, Ohio. The suspension performs like new in every way. There are no squeaks, rattles, or vibrations and the ride is highly controlled yet very supple for how flat the car stays in turns. The steering is tight and perfect. The transmission needed work so Evans completely rebuilt it. This was a total rebuild that not only included the standard seals, synchros and bearings, but also new gears. ALL parts used were ORIGINAL FERRARI with no aftermarket or counterfeit parts that are common to the trade. The differential carrier and housing was perfect with none of the common failures or cracks. The clutch is completely new, including the flywheel, pressure plate, friction disc and release bearing. That was expensive. The total cost of all of the above work was $37,600 and I have all the receipts and invoices to prove it. There is no sign the car has ever been in an accident. Chris Harris enjoys the song of a Ferrari 212
Fri, May 8 2015We often see Chris Harris sliding around in the modern elite of supercars, but he eschews every bit of the cutting edge in his latest clip for the opportunity to get behind the wheel of an absolute classic. Harris drives a 1952 Ferrari 212 Barchetta with a body by Touring, and the Italian hills come alive with the sound of this little car's beautiful music. The V12 engine that's nestled under the Barchetta's hood might be short on displacement, but this thing can absolutely roar. It thunders down the road under hard acceleration and then makes a symphony of pops and snaps as the driver downshifts into a corner. You can own this Ferrari, too. RM Auctions is selling it, but the reserve is somewhere between 5 million and 7 million euros ($5.6 million - $7.9 million). Ferrari and FCA are officially separated
Mon, Jan 4 2016It's been a long time in the making, but it's officially happened: Ferrari is no longer part of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles. Following the Italian automaker's initial public offering, it has officially split off from its former parent company. As part of the spin-off, FCA's stakeholders will each receive one common share in Ferrari for every ten they hold in Fiat Chrysler. Special voting shares will be distributed in the same proportions to certain shareholders as well. Those shares being distributed will account for 80 percent of the company's ownership. Another ten percent was floated as part of the company's IPO, while the remaining 10 percent is held by Enzo's son Piero Ferrari (pictured above at center), who serves as vice chairman of the company. The shares will continue to be traded under the ticker symbol RACE on the New York Stock Exchange, and will begin trading this week as well under the same symbol on the Mercato Telematico Azionario, part of the Borsa Italiana in Milan. Since the extended Agnelli family headed by chairman John Elkann (above, right) holds the largest stake in FCA, expect it to continue controlling the largest portion of Ferrari shares as well. Between them, nearly half of the shares in the supercar manufacturer – and we suspect a little more than half of the voting rights – will be controlled by the Agnelli and Ferrari families, who are expected to cooperate to ensure the remaining shareholders don't attempt a takeover of the company. Similar to its former parent company, which operates out of Turin and Detroit, the Ferrari NV holding company is nominally incorporated in the Netherlands, but the automaker will continue to base its operations in Maranello, Italy. That's where it's always been headquartered, on the outskirts of Modena. For the time being, Sergio Marchionne (above, left) remains both chairman of Ferrari and chief executive of FCA – a position to which he is not unaccustomed, having previously headed both Fiat and Chrysler before the two officially merged. Ferrari cuts Toronto lawyer a deal to replace his flooded California [w/video]
Thu, 05 Sep 2013A Ferrari might be the last vehicle you'd want to be driving when streets are submerged in water, but Toronto lawyer Howard Levitt was unfortunate enough to be behind the wheel of his $200,000+ Ferrari California when the tunnel he was driving through started to fill up. It was July, when parts of the Canadian city were flooded, but he was determined to make his flight to a court appearance the next day. So Levitt abandoned his metallic blue supercar in the middle of the street and took a cab to the airport, the National Post reports.
The car subsequently was totaled, and the insurance company covered the damage, so after completing his court assignment (and a column for the Financial Post that was due the same day), Levitt began to search for a replacement for his California - driving his 1994 Dodge Viper in the meantime. He decided on a 2014 California in the same metallic blue to replace his 2010 model. When he approached Ferrari to put in an order, the Italian marque was waiting for him, having heard of his mishap. The company offered him a "very generous" deal on a 2014 model; an undisclosed amount less than the after-options retail price of around $300,000.
The new Ferrari is expected to be delivered to Levitt in November, and we can only hope another flood doesn't catch him off guard. We're not so sure Ferrari would offer him another "very generous" deal.
