1992 FERRARI 512 TR ONLY 18,400 ACTUAL MILES!!! EXTREMELY RARE GIALLO MODENA AND PELLE NERO (BLACK LEATHER) COLOR COMBINATION!!! WHEN IS THE LAST TIME THAT YOU SAW A YELLOW 512 TR FERRARI? MOST TESTAROSSAS WERE RED! THIS 512 TR FERRARI IS 1 OF 1 YELLOW /BLACK TESTAROSSA'S LISTED ON THE TESTAROSSA, 512 TR, 512 M REGISTRY. THIS CAR IS IN EXQUISITE CONDITION WITH ALL OPTIONS WORKING INCLUDING ICE COLD A/C . THE INTERIOR IS IN NEARLY UNMARKED CONDITION AND VERY CONSISTENT WITH A WELL MAINTAINED 21 YEAR OLD FERRARI. THE BRAKES ARE PERFECT, CAR DRIVES STRAIGHT AS AN ARROW AND GEARBOX IS FLAWLESS!!! THE CAR DOES NOT LEAK ANY FLUIDS. THIS IS A RARE OPPORTUNITY TO BUY A PIECE OF FERRARI HISTORY AND WOULD MAKE A NICE ADDITION TO ANY COLLECTION!!! OWNERS MANUAL, DOCUMENTATION OF RECENT BELT SERVICE, TESTAROSSA DIE CAST MODELS AND SEVERAL VINTAGE AUTOMOBILE MAGAZINES FEATURING THE INTRODUCTION OF THE FERRARI 512 TR WILL ALSO BE INCLUDED. DO NOT BE MISTAKEN, THIS IS NOT YOUR ORDINARY TESTAROSSA!!! POPULAR AS IT WAS THE TESTAROSSA NEEDED UPGRADING AND FERRARI WANTED TO INCREASE HORSEPOWER, LOWER WEIGHT , LOWER CENTER OF GRAVITY, ADD STIFFER FRAME, NEW STEERING GEOMETRY , MORE RESISTANT BRAKES AND BETTER PROGRESSIONS SO THE 512 TR WAS BORN! THIS IS REALLY A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT CAR NOT JUST A RE-DONE TESTAROSSA. THE ENGINEERS WHO DEVELOPED THE 512 TR HAD THE F40 AS A REFERENCE POINT, AND LESSONS LEARNED WEREN'T LOST ON THEM. LURKING UNDER THAT BODYWORK IS ABOUT THREE-QUARTERS OF AN F40 WITH ALL THE CONVENIENCES OF ANY MODERN LUXURY GT. UPGRADES INCLUDED IMPROVED HANDLING, NEW FRONT AND REAR BUMPERS AND A PAIR OF LARGE DRIVING LIGHTS AND AND A SMALLER GRILL, NEW LARGER SLIMMER 5 SPOKED ALLOY WHEELS AND TIRES, NEW HUGE CROSS - DRILLED DISC BRAKES ALL AWAY AROUND AND ALUMINUM CALIPERS WITH LARGER PISTONS AND A REDESIGNED INTERIOR THAT INCLUDED A NEW SEAT DESIGN THAT PROVIDED A MIX OF ITALIAN STYLING AND DRIVING FUNCTION AND AN AROMA LIKE THAT OF A NEW LEATHER BRIEFCASE. THE REAL CHANGES ARE UNDERNEATH INCLUDING A FLAT-12, A WORK OF ART IN ITSELF, THAT ADDED 50 MORE HORSEPOWER AND WIDER TORQUE CURVE ADDING TO THE FLEXIBILITY AND NOTICEABLE HIGHER REDLINE. CYLINDERS ARE NOW MADE OF ALUMINUM WITH NIKASIL COATING AND INTAKE VALVES ARE LARGER AND THE PISTONS ARE NEW RESULTING IN UPPING THE COMPRESSION FROM 8.7:1 TO 10.0:1. WITH HIGHER COMPRESSION CAME NEW HEAD GASKETS AND COOLANT CIRCULATION PATTERN. A NEW MANIFOLD AND AIR BOXES AID BREATHING INTO THE CYLINDERS WHILE NEW EXHAUST MANIFOLDS DO THE OPPOSITE ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE ENGINE. POWER GOES OUT THROUGH A SINGLE-PLATE CLUTCH AND INTO A 5 SPEED MANUAL GEARBOX, THE IMPORTANT PART HERE IS THAT THE DRIVETRAIN IS MOUNTED ABOUT AN INCH LOWER THAN BEFORE HELPING DROP THE CENTER OF GRAVITY. THE CHASSIS BOASTS INCREASED RIGIDITY THANKS TO ADDED PANELS TO STIFFEN THE CHASSIS AND SUBFRAMES. THIS RARE 512 TR IS ABSOLUTELY DROP DEAD GORGEOUS!!! IT LOOKS AND SMELLS LIKE NEW, IT HAS BEEN METICULOUSLY WELL MAINTAINED AND JUST UNDERWENT AN EXTENSIVE ENGINE - OUT SERVICE THAT INCLUDED THE CHANGE OF TIMING BELTS AND BEARINGS, VALVE ADJUSTMENT, REPLACEMENT OF CAM SEALS AND REPLACEMENT OF ALL FLUIDS AT 17,800 MILES ON SEPTEMBER 26, 2013!!! . AS YOU KNOW THIS SERVICE IS NECESSARY AND EXTREMELY IMPORTANT SO YOU CAN HAVE THE LEVEL OF CONFIDENCE WHEN PURCHASING THIS 512 TR!!! THE ENGINE WAS ALSO METICULOUSLY DETAILED DURING THE SERVICE WHILE THE ENGINE WAS OUT OF THE CAR. THE 512 TR IS CONSIDERED AN ICONIC FERRARI. THERE ARE VERY FEW FERRARI MODELS THAT WERE BUILT THAT BOASTED A REAR V12 ENGINE!!!! THIS IS ONE OF THE LAST OF THOSE RARE MODELS. THE CAR DRIVES BEAUTIFULLY AND IS IN EXCEPTIONAL CONDITION INSIDE AND OUT. UPGRADES INCLUDE TUBI EXHAUST, YELLOW BREMBO BRAKE CALIPERS AND A STATE OF THE ART SOUND SYSTEM BY SONY THAT INCLUDES A REMOVABLE FACE LOCATED IN THE HIDDEN DASH COMPARTMENT. AS STATED BEFORE, THE BRAKES WORK PERFECTLY AND THE CLUTCH IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION. ALL SUSPENSION COMPONENTS ARE IN PERFECT CONDITION. THERE ARE NO KNOWN MECHANICAL ISSUES. THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTS SMOOTHLY, THE POWER WINDOWS AND ALL CONSOLE SWITCHES WORK AS THEY SHOULD AND THE HEAT BLOWS WARM AND THE A/C BLOWS COLD!!! THE DOORS, TRUNK AND ENGINE HATCH OPEN AS NEW WITH NO FLAWS. I WOULD NOT HESITATE TO DRIVE THIS CAR CROSS COUNTRY!!! THIS 512 TR IS AN EXCEPTIONAL VALUE AND PRICES ARE EXPECTED TO CONTINUE RISING ON THESE ICONIC VEHICLES SINCE THE REAR ENGINE V12 FERRARI IS A RARE BREED. PLEASE SEE MY FEEDBACK AND BID WITH CONFIDENCE!!! FEEL FREE TO CALL ME AAT 703-625-1285 IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS. |

The exotic '80s: Ferrari, Lamborghini, Lotus and the Porsche 959
Thu, Apr 9 2015There's no secret that we are big fans of the MotorWeek Retro Review series around here. In an automotive world that often focuses on the latest tech and what's coming in the future, it's refreshing to take a look into the past to get a new perspective. That said, the show is really outdoing itself this time by posting a full episode from the '80s to YouTube, complete with the original, jazzy opening. The video is an absolute standout, too, with drives of some of the best supercars that Europe could offer at the time. Among the now classic sportscars that MotorWeek got to drive are the Ferrari 328, Lotus Esprit Turbo, Lamborghini Jalpa and Autokraft AC Mark IV. There's even a preview that sings the praises of the tech in the Porsche 959. The episode is basically a showcase of most of the exotics from young enthusiasts' walls and school folders during the '80s and is not to be missed. The sunniest Ferrari collection you've ever seen, shot for Forza mag
Sat, 30 Aug 2014There's a stable of about 40 beautiful prancing horses hiding in a Tennessee garage. These thoroughbreds aren't out to win the next Triple Crown, though. Instead, this is one of the best collections of Ferraris in the world where you would probably least expect it.
Photographer and auto journalist Clint Davis went there to write a story about collector Phil Bachman for the Ferrari-focused Forza magazine, and he took some dazzling photographs to go along with his words. At the same time, he brought along a friend to film their day meeting Bachman and his sublime collection.
Amassing this many sensational vehicles would be amazing anyway, but Bachman takes his Ferrari obsession even further. He prefers to get his cars in yellow and tries to get the last production example of a given model. In fact, he already has a reservation for the final LaFerrari. You can probably figure out in what color. Keep your eyes open here for glimpses of a plethora of vintage beauties, but the star of the show might be a yellow FXX.
Want to buy a worst-in-show-winning Faux Ferrari Fiero?
Mon, Aug 31 2020UPDATE: This heap sold for $5,001. But don't fret, there are more terrible cars out there for the taking if that's your thing. Today we bring you something truly terrible. It's not just a fake Ferrari built on the guts of an old Pontiac Fiero, it's actually the world's worst fake Ferrari built on the guts of an old Pontiac Fiero. And it's got the award from the Concours d'Lemons to prove it. It's so heinous, in fact, that it has somehow managed to become desirable, at least judging by the bidding history of this bright red affront to Maranello. Powered by a 140-horsepower 2.8-liter V6 engine (covered by an unconvincing and broken fake V12 cover) hooked to an automatic gearbox, this gloriously poor Prancing Horse won't be winning many stoplight drag races. There are bundles of stray wires hanging down from the dashboard, it has high mileage, most of its lights don't work, and it's ugly. Like, really ugly. And to top it off, this Fauxrarri can't currently be registered in its home state of California because it has failed its most recent smog test. Put simply, you're looking at a total piece of junk. But a piece of junk with internet notoriety, having been featured on an episode of Jay Leno's Garage after attending the 2019 Quail Motorsports Gathering — by mistake at first, and then earning a special place next to the porta potties — being the focus of a video series on YouTube and winning the aforementioned ribbon for Worst in Show at Lemons. Somehow, bidding has topped $4,000 at the time of this writing. This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings.
