White Christmas: Miami Vice Ferrari Testarossa on eBay for $1.75M

Were the eighties responsible for more iconic television cars than any other decade? Without even thinking about it we can reel off B.A. Baracus' GMC van, the Knight Industries Two Thousand and General Lee, Hardcastle and McCormick's Coyote, Magnum P.I.'s Ferrari 308. That's before we dip into personal favorites like The Fall Guy's GMC and the Dodge Ram Power Wagon from Simon and Simon, or hop over to cartoons like Transformers, the GoBots and MASK. And then there was this, among the top rung of eighties memorabilia, a 1986 Ferrari Testarossa claimed to be one of two used in Miami Vice. You'll remember that the show began with James "Sonny" Crockett driving a black Daytona Coupe, but it was a replica built on C3 Corvette running gear. The story is that Ferrari sued the replica maker and made the show's producers an offer: blow up the replica on the show in return for two Testarossas to use. And that, it's said, is how Crockett's convertible got hit by a missile during an undercover assignment with an arms dealer. The original cars were Carbon Black, but the show's cameras couldn't keep up with them at night, so director Michael Mann had them painted white. For sale on eBay with a Buy It Now price of $1.75M, the seller says he has the all of the service history paperwork and documentation from Ferrari North America. According to the seller, he bought it about three years ago; before that, it was last sold in 1991 and sat in a Miami garage for years, so it has 16,000 miles on the odometer. The Hagerty Price Guide Report shows Testarossa values have nearly doubled in four years, but a pristine find should still only fetch about $93,500, just to make sure you're clear on the seller's Hollywood premium. Mansory Stallone makes a man out of Ferrari F12

The Mansory Stallone you see above isn't the first such transmogrification of a Prancing Horse. This one is based on the Ferrari F12 Berlinetta, but the first honor, as far as we can tell, went to the Stallone based on the 599 GTB Fiorano. The F12 version was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show this year, but we missed out, and we were sure you wouldn't want to miss it.
As with its predecessor, this one gets a total makeover, from the new front clip and hood to the side skirts, new rear end, rear diffuser and rear wing. There is additional muscle for the 6.0-liter V12, too - a tweaked ECU and sports exhaust with a stainless steel muffler getting matters up from 740 horsepower to 775, and torque from 509 pound-feet to 535. Moving things forward is a set of bespoke, staggered, lightweight aluminum wheels, 21 inches up front, 22 in the back.
The showstopper is inside, where a red and black leather treatment and redesigned steering wheel will make the cabin a very intense place to be. Check out the press release below for the minutiae, and the high-res gallery above for more angles.

Ferrari 458 Speciale Aperta frolics topless in the rain with Evo

With nearly 600 horsepower from a sonorous 4.5-liter V8 nestled in an already fantastic platform, Ferrari might have outdone itself with the 458 Speciale. At this year's Paris Motor Show, it took the idea to the next logical step by letting buyers drop the coupe's top with the limited-edition 458 Speciale Aperta. Evo recently got the chance to drive one of the 499 of them; unfortunately, it was pouring rain the whole time. Still, when you get an opportunity to drive such a special Prancing Horse, you don't pass it up, no matter what the weather is doing.
All of the standing water on the road does allow for a chance to see how the Aperta's traction control works in the slippery conditions, and the car handles it with aplomb. In fact, the host has a hard time taking the big grin off of his face for the entire clip. Check out the video to watch this special, new Ferrari and its wonderful V8 go singing in the rain.
