Hello and welcome to my auction.

Up for auction is my beloved 1990 Mondial T with 114,500 miles. I purchased this car in southern California approx 6 years ago in September of 2007 from an older gentleman who used it regularly with 102,000 miles on it. Everyone told me to avoid a Ferrari with this many miles but I must say after having three Ferrari's over the years, I have found them to be the most quality built and reliable machines that I have ever owned. When I purchased the car, I used it to drive around Southern California sight seeing when I was in town, I kept the car in Southern California for approximately 5 years until driving it back to Chicago just recently within the past year.

For those of you who may not know this, the Mondial T which was manufactured from 1989 to 1993 is a much more advanced car to that of the older Mondial's,  it has the same engine, transmission and drivetrain from the 348 which makes it a much more robust and reliable machine.  There were only 1,150 of Mondial T's ever made yet it shares many of the same parts as the 348 making it a very user friendly car.

I would describe the car as a driver, yet it does not look like it has 114k miles on it (This is typical of a California car).

Below is a list of services that have been performed since I have owned the car.

1. 30k mile service approximately 2k miles ago.  $3,200
2. New timing belt from Ferrari. (Have pictures of the major service). $80
3. New  timing belt tensioner rollers from Ferrari. $400
4. New valve cover gaskets.
5. New spark plugs.
6. New spark plug wire set. $650
7. New ignition coils from Ferrari $440
8. New Ignition modules from Ferrari. $450
9. New crankshaft sensors. $250
10. New Michelin Pilot sport tires with approx 3k miles on them, awesome grip. $1,000
11. New blower motor. $250
12. New TUBI exhaust system with cat bypass pipes from TUBI, sounds amazing. (original muffler included with sale of car) $3,400.00
13. New convertible top boot cover. $500
14. New interstate battery. $100
15. New alternator $320

As you can see, I have a habit of replacing things before they break to promote reliability.

Below is a list of items that need attention although the cosmetic items I have lived with since I purchased the car.

1. Right rear shock absorber needs to be rebuilt, there is a place in Ohio that will rebuild it for about $250. They are very reputable,  I will give you their contact info.
2. The blower motor resistor needs to be replaced, the new blower motor only works on High speed. The heater and AC both work well.
3. There are a few areas of the paint which have been buffed though and chipped (please see pictures). I bought the car this way. (You don't notice it when you are driving :)
4. The center console trim is cracked near to the ashtray.
5. The drivers side seat bolster is ripped yet very fixable. I bought the car this way with the tailor made sheepskins and elected not to repair the seat because the sheep skins are very comfortable.
6. There is a shallow dent on the passenger side rear quarter panel in front of the tire. (I bought the car this way, it is barely noticeable).
7. The turn signal stalk has to be held when making a right turn (again, I bought the car this way and have enjoyed driving it very much).
8. The passenger side windows are a bit slow (typical of Ferrari's).

I truly have had some of the best times in my life with this car, I wish I could keep it and continue to have it a part of my life but my priorities have shifted somewhat and I unfortunately must part ways with it and some other toys as well.  I will certainly miss it a lot....

I would like too see it go to a good home preferably to someone with some mechanical knowledge and abilities. It is a very easy and practical car to work on.

I will accept bank wire transfers or cash as payment.

I have a clear title which I will sign over to the winning bidder.

I am able to pick up the winning bidder at the major airport here in Chicago, we can conduct the transaction here and you can drive the car home or ship it.

I will assist you in any way that I can. Like I said, I just want this car to go to a good home..

Please feel free to contact me with any questions that you have about the car. I can be reached at 847 849 7660 Andy.

This auction will end on Monday night August 19th at 8pm pacific time, 9 pm mountain time, 10 pm central time and 11pm eastern time, please save the date.

Thanks and happy bidding.

Ferrari completes two-year restoration of fire-damaged 225E

Wed, Mar 16 2016

See this classic Ferrari? It looks pretty good, right? Well it didn't a couple of years ago, having been all but destroyed in a fire. But the Ferrari Classiche department completed a comprehensive two-year restoration process that's left it looking as good as (if not better than) new. The vehicle in question is a 1952 Ferrari 225E, one of the earliest sports cars the Prancing Horse made, just five years after its founding. It was delivered new to Count Antonio Sterzi, who campaigned it first in the Mille Miglia. The car went on to win events like the Bolzano-Mendola hillclimb and the Coppa InterEuropa at Monza, but after changing hands a couple of times, it was ravaged by a fire. View 7 Photos Several attempts were made in the decades since to bring it back to proper working condition. But it wasn't until its current Argentinian owner commissioned the factory's own restoration department to completely overhaul the burnt-out shell that it regained its luster. Over the course of two years, the Classiche studio has comprehensively reconditioned the 225E inside, out, and under the hood, sourcing original documentation from the factory archives to match the interior as close as possible to how it would have originally been outfitted, and giving it a beautiful two-tone blue and white paintjob. A FERRARI RISES FROM THE ASHES A fire-damaged 225E makes a triumphant return Maranello, 15 March 2016 – After almost two years of work, restoration of the 225E chassis no. 0178 is finally complete and the car is back in its owner's hands. The project was a huge challenge for the Ferrari Classiche department as the car, which belongs to an Argentinean collector, arrived in Maranello in a terrible state of repair, having been partly-destroyed in a fire. Racing past. The 225E left the factory in May 1952 and was first owned by Count Antonio Sterzi. It quickly made its competitive debut in none other than the Mille Miglia in the hands of that gentleman and his co-driver Nino Rovelli. In June the same year, the 225E won the Coppa della Toscana with Bruno Sterzi who also raced it to victory in the Bolzano-Mendola hillclimb and the Coppa InterEuropa at Monza for which both front and rear bumpers were removed. The car changed hands a couple of times but was then involved in a fire in which it sustained severe damage. The engine, however, was almost entirely salvageable and an attempt was made during the 1980s to restore the bodywork.

Ferrari stock demand exceeding supply

Sun, Oct 18 2015

As with the Ferrari cars, so it is with shares in the company's initial public offering: When Ferrari has a limited quantity of something to sell, demand far outstrips supply. Investors told banks weeks ago that bids for the $1 billion in stock – up to 18.89 million shares – would exceed the number of shares available over the entire expected range of $48 to $52. Ten percent of the company is going on the block' Bloomberg reports that the books close on the IPO on Monday at 4:00 pm. The final price will be set on Tuesday, and trading will begin Wednesday under the ticker symbol RACE on the New York Stock Exchange. Piero Ferrari, the son of Enzo Ferrari, will hold onto the ten-percent stake he currently has in the company. Fiat Chrysler will disburse the final 80 percent to its investors sometime in 2016. In combination with spinning Ferrari off from its parent company next year, the share sale is expected to put $4 billion into Fiat Chrysler coffers, which will be used to help fuel the growth of Alfa Romeo, Jeep, and Maserati. Assuming all goes to plan, Bloomberg says Ferrari will be valued at roughly $12 billion, a number $1 billion greater than the valuation Fiat Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne put on Ferrari earlier this year and higher than the brand's own internal assessment. Race Recap: 2014 US Grand Prix goes the English way yet again

Mon, 03 Nov 2014

Thankfully, the weekend's Formula One dramas all concerned events that happened off the track, with both Caterham and Marussia going into administration, after which a rumored boycott by the small teams was avoided. That gave the 18 drivers left on the grid freedom to focus on making the most of the Texas sunshine for Sunday's US Grand Prix.
Having finished two Free Practices behind teammate Mercedes AMG Petronas teammate Lewis Hamilton, the second one just .003 behind, Nico Rosberg said he had speed in hand and proved it during qualifying, beating Hamilton to the top spot by four-tenths of a second. Williams drivers Valtteri Bottas and Felipe Massa came behind, followed by Daniel Ricciardo in the Infiniti Red Bull Racing, Fernando Alonso in the Ferrari, the McLaren duo of Jenson Button and Kevin Magnussen, Kimi Räikkönen in the second Ferrari, and little-team Sauber bursting out of the storm clouds into tenth, Adrian Sutil making the team's first-time Q3 appearance all year.
When it came time to race, the carbon-fiber fisticuffs began on the first lap.
