1985 Ferrari Mondial Convertible Black With Tan. Best Color! Strong Running Car on 2040-cars
Gaylordsville, Connecticut, United States
|
1985 Ferrari Mondial Cabriolet Black with a tan interior. 47,000 miles. Fuel injected V-8 3 liter motor with four valves per cylinder, this is the same engine that is in the very famous and well loved Ferrari 308 series, it is fitted to a 5 speed transmission, the car drives nicely and sounds wonderful. I have owned this car about 7 years,in that time I put a few hundred miles on it, while I did not use it a lot, I made sure to regularly exercise the car so it would not sit around. I had a major service performed when I got the car and then last year I had a friend replace the timing belts since the major was still fresh and the belts were due time wise. The car runs great, the windows all work, it is a wonderful driving example of the Ferrari Mondial Convertible. The paint shows very nicely and looks great. The seat leather is dried and there are some cracks in the seats, I just put seat covers on them and it was fine with me. The mileage on the car fax report shows a discrepancy it didn't bother me because the car ran so well and with the exception of the seat leather it is a nice car. Black is the best color for this model Mondial, the black paint matches the black bumpers so they do not appear to stick out as they do with other colors. Car is located in northwestern Connecticut about 75 miles north of New York City. Ferrari Lusso ownership will add some time to your morning commute
Fri, 19 Apr 2013If you've ever driven a vintage vehicle on a regular basis, you know the process from getting from point A to point B is a bit more convoluted than simply hopping in and going. There are rituals to observe, checklists to run through and processes to address before ever touching the ignition. Neglect any one of a number of small tasks and you're likely to find yourself on the side of the road. James Chen, the owner of Axis Wheels, knows all about that. You see, he owns a gorgeous Ferrari Lusso, and coaxing the V12 under the hood to life requires a certain amount of procedure.
Once it's rolling, of course, all that premeditation seems entirely worth the effort. Chen does his best to keep the machine out of traffic, but refuses to keep the coupe sealed away in a museum, so he gets up early and takes to the canyon roads around LA before anyone else is awake. Atta boy.

Ferrari planning six-cylinder Dino revival?
Wed, Apr 8 2015Ferrari swore up and down when it was developing the California that it wouldn't be an "entry-level" model. Whether that ultimately proved to be the case or not is up for debate, but it seems that the Prancing Horse marque is now preparing to launch a properly more accessible model in the near future. According to Motor Trend, Maranello is working on a new six-cylinder sports car to serve as the point of entry for new customers – especially in China. Tax implications there could mean the V6 would displace less than 3.0 liters, but likely pack a pair of turbochargers to ensure that output and performance live up to the Ferrari standard. Tipped to arrive in 2019, the six-cylinder model could materialize as a revival of sorts of the Dino line. Named after Enzo Ferrari's first-born son, the Dino sub-brand used mostly six-cylinder engines to take on the Porsche 911 on and off the track. The Dino 206 GT emerged in 1968, evolved into the larger-displacement 246 the following year and ultimately gave way to the very different, eight-cylinder, four-seat 308 GT4 in 1973, later to be rebadged as a proper Ferrari once the Dino brand was put to rest in '76. It's worth noting that Ferrari developed the 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 for the Maserati Ghibli and Quattroporte, which would presumably serve as the basis for the new entry-level Ferrari. Though FCA typically endeavors to keep its brands from competing directly with one another, Maserati is due to release a production version of the Alfieri sports car concept within the next couple of years, powered by that same engine, and could share its underpinnings with the Ferrari model in question. The six-cylinder Prancing Horse could carry a price tag of around $180,000 to take on the likes of the Porsche 911 Turbo, Mercedes-AMG GT, Audi R8 and the Sports Series which McLaren just kicked off with its new entry-level 570S. Ferrari replacing fuel tanks on limited number of LaFerraris
Wed, Mar 18 2015Ferrari is working to repair an issue with its flagship LaFerrari hypercar, but the automaker claims the problem is not as drastic as some widely-circulated rumors would have you believe. In response to our inquiry into the matter, a Ferrari spokesperson told Autoblog that "no recall has been issued regarding the LaFerrari." Instead, the company tells us that "some clients have been invited to take their cars to an authorized service center to substitute the fuel tank with a new one with new paint." The issue seems to revolve around "a possible incorrect adhesion of a layer of paint on the fuel tank," which could result in a fire. Contrary to rumors that suggested the issue would affect every example of the seven-figure supercar built to date and would take several weeks to repair, we're told that "the time to change the fuel tank is relatively short and the intervention concerns only a limited number of LaFerraris." That "relatively short" time period, we're told, "takes approximately one day," and "all of the cars have already been serviced in the US." As to whether this constitutes a recall or simply a suggested service as Ferrari claims, however, is a matter that's open to interpretation. Related Video:
