1990 Riva 32 speedboat is a 780 hp seagoing Ferrari

This is a 1990 Riva Ferrari 32, and it's going up for auction later this month in Monaco. The vessel resulted from a collaboration between the automaker and Italian shipyard Riva – which has also provided the basis for classic wooden speedboats for the founder of Lamborghini and the designer of McLarens. The Ferrari-influenced craft measures 32 feet in length with a pair of V8 engines under the aft deck capable of propelling it up to 60 miles per hour. Rather than make a marine version of one of its road-going engines, as Lamborghini has, the Riva Ferrari was powered by Vulcano 400 marine engines each displacing 8.0 liters and good for 390 horsepower. Only 40 examples were ever made, of which this is the 28th. RM Sotheby's anticipates it will fetch upwards of $200,000 when the gavel drops at Le Sporting in Monte Carlo, which is about what you'd pay for a California T these days. And to top it off, this Fauxrarri can't currently be registered in its home state of California because it has failed its most recent smog test. Put simply, you're looking at a total piece of junk. But a piece of junk with internet notoriety, having been featured on an episode of Jay Leno's Garage after attending the 2019 Quail Motorsports Gathering — by mistake at first, and then earning a special place next to the porta potties — being the focus of a video series on YouTube and winning the aforementioned ribbon for Worst in Show at Lemons. I'm senior editor Greg Migliore and this is your Autoblog Minute Weekly Recap. FCA reached a tentative labor agreement with UAW leadership. The major focus of the new deal reportedly includes: the eventual elimination of the two-tier pay scale [00:00:30] and pooling worker health care. Now that a leadership agreement is in place, the deal will be sent to FCA's rank-and-file. FCA has about 36,000 hourly employees. We got a first look at the interior and exterior of the 10th-generation Civic. Honda expects the new sedan to dominate the C-segment when it hits dealerships later this fall. Civic coupe, five-door hatchback, Si and Type R will all come later. The 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show is in the books and there was a lot of news to get excited about.
