This is a 1981 not an 1980 Ferrari 512 BBi vin #
ZFFJA09B000038713. It's likely one of the lowest mileage and the best early injected Boxers in the world. I would
not be saying this if I did not spend a good amount of years owning and inspecting these beautiful, last of the
hand built Ferraris. Scaglieti was hired by the Ferrari factory to hand build these great mid-engined super cars of
the 70's and 80's. The panels were put onto wooden bucks and hammered to shape by very talented craftsman. No
Ferrari has gotten built this way since the Boxer went out of production in 1984.
The car being offered here is truly a time warp car! It has just 1600 miles. It's the 5th injected Boxer build.
This is an 1981 production year car. A classic color combination of Rosso Chiaro with black boxer trim. Beautiful
tan interior with the Daytona style seats and black inserts. The car was a Borgata Casino featured show car. There
is a one inch thick well organized folder on its history and origin. You will find an incredible wealth of
information like the original bill of sale, letters and telegrams from the first owner and Ferrari SPA. Certificate
of origin, copies of checks to Ferrari through Luigi Chinetti, payment certificates, importation and freight
documents, receipts from Classic Coach, Importation Tag with Pallet number and destination report and so on. The
DOT releases are part of that paper work. Classic Coach out of NJ did the DOT conversion. The car also comes with
every thing it came from the factory, including an original hard to find sales brochure. The original quartz clock
tag. These materials are in concourse condition. Please refer to the pictures of these materials. The car has had
some minor paint work over the years, but still retains most of it's original paint. The car had an engine out
service about 8 years ago so it's due for a major service. The car runs and drives absolutely incredible! Cold A/C.
It retains it's original interior, dash leather and stereo equipment all in mint condition. This car has never been
restored! It is truly a mint condition car, as it should be with having just 1600 miles. This is a museum quality
Boxer. If you ever wanted a Boxer that has not been molested or brought back to life after years of driving, this
may be the car to own. I looked at so many cars, some were excellent examples alright, but none came close to this
car's quality. Remember a car is only original once. The mid-engined flat 12 cylinder engined Ferraris are one of
my favorite Ferrari designs and is a memorable experience every time you drive one! The car must be seen in person,
as pictures do not do it justice. The mid-engined Ferraris are red hot these days. I believe Boxers have a bright
future ahead and should continue to climb in value. Feel free to email me with any questions or concerns.

Infographic: Comparing the Veneno, LaFerrari and P1 supercars

Sat, 16 Mar 2013

This year's Geneva Motor Show served as the launch platform for three of the world's latest and greatest supercars. The Italians brought us the Lamborghini Veneno and the Ferrari LaFerrari, while the British unveiled the production version of the McLaren P1.
To put the three in better perspective - as if any of us will ever fully comprehend trio of million dollar coupes - the Aussies at Motoring.com built an infographic (click above to enlarge) that outlines what makes each of these cars so spectacular. Using unique colors to represent each of the vehicles, the team put together a variety of charts that focus on vital statistics, pricing, total production run and other parameters all designed to ease the process of digesting an overabundance of exotic goodness. We have uploaded the graphic full size in this link.

Why the Ferrari Testarossa deserves some respect

Wed, 13 Feb 2013

Join us for a moment in putting on our way-back hats, zeroing in on the late 1980s. Imagine that you're in your bedroom. Look over at the wall across from your bed. What car do you see on the poster? If you're anything like us, it's a Lamborghini Countach - in fact, it's a trio of Lamborghini Countach models in an array of colors. Oh, and there's also a 1:18-scale diecast Countach in black sitting on our dresser with its scissor doors locked in a skyward embrace.
Of course, the Raging Bull wasn't Italy's only great supercar from the 1980s, especially if you cast your lot at the temple of the Prancing Horse. The Ferrari Testarossa, as pointed out in the latest video from Petrolicious, is an oft unsung hero penned from the stuff boyhood dreams are made of. Far from a *ahem* red-headed stepchild, the Testarossa deserves a place in the minds and hearts of '80s supercar fans the world over.
Scroll down below to watch vintage car collector Joe Ventura talk about the Ferrari Testarossa with beautifully bright red Italian design serving as a fitting backdrop.

Ferrari 250 Testa Rossas assemble by the shore at Pebble Beach

Mon, 18 Aug 2014

Seeing one Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa could be a once-in-a-lifetime experience for many people because so few exist, and those that do generally trade hands for tens of millions of dollars. At this year's Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, there are 20 of these amazing rarities lined up next to each other.
Situated right on the shore of the Pacific Ocean, you can actually hear the waves lapping against the rocks during the quiet moments. Just a few feet away these thoroughbred Prancing Horses are on display and being polished to perfection. The Testa Rossas represent some of the most important historic racers in the world, and the mix here include a prototype, a Le Mans winner and models that counted drivers like Phil Hill and Dan Gurney behind the wheel.
Not all Testa Rossas were created equal, though. Ferrari built both factory racing and customer versions, and they came with curvaceous bodies from Scaglietti and a bit more angular look with dual snouts from Fantuzzi. Many of them also had further modifications from there to make each one about as unique as a snowflake. Check out our fabulous gallery of all 20 of these beautiful red heads on display together.
