James Glickenhaus teases sleek SCG 003 supercar

He may not have known it at the time, but James Glickenhaus started a small revolution when he commissioned Pininfarina to turn his Ferrari Enzo into a tribute to the legendary 330 P3/4. The P4/5 is what resulted, and Ferrari gave its blessing for it to wear the Prancing Horse emblem - something it hadn't done for a coachbuilt custom in decades. A slew of rebodied Ferraris followed, prompting the factory to launch its own coachbuilding division. But Jim wasn't out of the picture.
The former Hollywood filmmaker and investment banker followed up with the P4/5 Competition based on the 430 Scuderia, and started Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus to race it. Now SCG is returning with a new project, and has released this teaser video (which you can view in the embedded Facebook post below) to keep us on our toes.
From the few glimpses the video provides of a rendering, it's hard to tell much, but from what we can see, it looks pretty slick. Just what sort of technical details will form the underpinnings remains to be seen, but we're looking forward to seeing how it turns out.

Infographic: Comparing the Veneno, LaFerrari and P1 supercars

This year's Geneva Motor Show served as the launch platform for three of the world's latest and greatest supercars. The Italians brought us the Lamborghini Veneno and the Ferrari LaFerrari, while the British unveiled the production version of the McLaren P1.
To put the three in better perspective - as if any of us will ever fully comprehend trio of million dollar coupes - the Aussies at Motoring.com built an infographic (click above to enlarge) that outlines what makes each of these cars so spectacular. Using unique colors to represent each of the vehicles, the team put together a variety of charts that focus on vital statistics, pricing, total production run and other parameters all designed to ease the process of digesting an overabundance of exotic goodness. Xcar goes analog with the Ferrari F40

We will forever be in love with the Ferrari F40. From its blunt-force appearance to its 2.9-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine living and breathing perilously close to the driver's head, the F40, the last model designed and built with input from Enzo Ferrari himself, has been and likely always will be the Ferrari of Ferraris for automotive enthusiasts who grew up in the 1980s.
All of this raises an interesting question: is the Ferrari F40 the best supercar of all time? A case can certainly be made, and after watching - and, just as importantly, listening to - all 17 minutes of blood-red Italian glory from Xcar, you're going to have to try long and hard to convince us that anything could be sweeter than this particular Prancing Horse.
