I am the fifth owner and here is the history as I recall:
1st Owner trade in at 300 miles
2nd Owner trade in at 1200 miles
3rd owner trade in at 3200 miles
4th owner trade in at 9250 miles
5th owner is ME!

All of these transactions were done at Boardwalk Ferrari in Dallas, TX.
I have complete history from Day 1.

I purchased the car in October of 2011 (after a year long search - as this was my favorite color combo - very rare) and put on approximately 3500 miles, of which I would say 2500 were from long drives with fellow exotic car enthusiast.

All campaigns up to date and history from when I purchased the car is attached.
Tires have plenty of life remaining.

Car is 100% stock, except for the V1 Hardwire and Flashlight in the Glovebox.

When I purchased the car, it had the original clear bra on the front and rear bumpers. I had the old clear bra professionally removed and had a full front end clear bra, side rockers, side mirrors and rear bumper from the tire to the curve of the rear bumper done by Rob @ Design Shield in Chicago, IL.
Before the clear bra was installed, Ivan @ LUSTR Auto Detail detailed the car and prepped it for the clear bra install.

The interior and exterior is are perfect condition, except for some slight wear on the drivers seat bolster - about 2 to 3".

I had the windows switches re-finsihed by Stickynomore. All other parts are fine.

The car has been meticulously maintained, is super clean and all service done by Continental Auto Sports in Hinsdale, IL.

I will gladly assist in coordinating a PPI for any prospective buyer (at the buyers expense).

This computer-generated Ferrari 250 GTO carved from marble rocks

Thu, 06 Feb 2014

The Ferrari 250 GTO ranks as perhaps the most valuable production car ever made. In just the past two years, units of the ultimate '60s sports car have sold for $32 million, $35 million and maybe as high as $52 million. With just 39 of them ever assembled, these Ferrari owners are among a rarefied class of an already top-tier class of car collectors. So once you collect the ultimate car, then what do you do? How about buy a scale model of it hewn from a single block of Arabescato marble by stone specialist Lapicida?
Interestingly, no sculptor developed a leathery callouses on his or her hands over the hundreds of man hours surely necessary to create this work of art, nor were dozens of hand tools worn to the nub in the pursuit of this homage to Italian performance. To create the 1:3.6 replica of a 1962/1963 GTO, Lapicida simply laser-scanned an actual GTO and fine-tuned the resulting data in 3D modeling software. Then, the file was sent to a computer-controlled, five-axis mill to shape the marble, which was selected because the veining gave the illusion of speed. Finally, it was hand-finished to make sure the details were as crisp as possible. The completed model measures 47.2-inches long, 18.1-inches wide and 13.4-inches tall and retails for a tidy £30,000 - over $49,000 USD.
Impressive though it may be, it seems hard to imagine spending that sort of money on a car that you can't sit in or drive down the road. Then again, if you can afford to own a real 250 GTO, it's barely pocket change. Lapicida also takes commissions, so if you want a marble model of your car, they're happy to do it. Then again, if you just need your foyer retiled or your personal chef's is demanding an upgraded kitchen, they'll do that, too. Scroll down to get the full details on the model.

Luxury carmakers make way more than just cars

Tue, Feb 24 2015

Whether it's as simple as Ferrari offering model cars or as opulent as Bugatti with an $84,000-belt buckle, practically every automaker does more than just sell cars to keep their brands visible. The profits from these ventures might not be enough to keep the lights on, but in such a competitive industry, any extra cash is welcome. For the automakers that get licensing just right, there is a ton of profit to be made. According to a recent story examining the practice by The New York Times, Ferrari makes around $2.6 billion from merchandising each year, and General Motors tops that at $3.5 billion. Beyond just a profit center, merchandising can also protect an automaker's name. Take Hummer for example. The GM division shut down years ago, but it has continued to produce licensed cologne on sale around the world. "Because we still have the active fragrance, we're protecting the brand if we ever decide to bring it back," Gene Reamer, a GM licensing senior manager, told the Times. The whole piece is a fascinating look into this often ignored, but quite lucrative facet of the auto business. Read it for yourself, here. Ferrari F12 races Air Malta A320 jet

Fri, 29 Mar 2013

Air Malta recently worked up a little stunt that pitted an Airbus A320 against a Ferrari F12 Berlinetta in a drag race to raise funds for charity. It's easy to forget just how quick something the size of a jetliner can be, but watching the video below shows us just where the big passenger aircraft stands when it comes to sprinting down a runway. We won't spoil the clip for you, you'll just have to check out the showdown below.
Air Malta says it raised over 178,820 euro with the stunt, which is around $230,000. That's despite the fact that intermittent rain showers kept crowds away. Formula One racer Lewis Hamilton even stopped by to say "Hi" to the crowds. He wasn't piloting the F12, however. Check out the video below for yourself.
