1998 Ferrari F355 Berlinetta F1

Introduced in 1994, the Ferrari GTB was the first in it's series and was an evolution of the Ferrari 348. The F355 was produced between 1994-1999, during which time additional series were manufactured. The GTB (Berlinetta model) was teh original Ferrari F355, followed by the targa topped GTS, the Spider, and later, by a very limited run of Serie Fiorano models. The Ferrari F355 became such a popular mnodel that it's own race was introduced, called the F355 challenge.

Arguably one of the prettiest Ferrari's built in the last 20 years, the F355 series sported Lithe Pininfarnia lines and a dual overhead-cam, 3,496cc V-8 with a surprising five valves per cylinder. This high-revving masterpiece made 375hp and 268lfs.ft of torque, and in this example, was mated to Ferrari's Formula One-derived six speed manual gearbox, with paddle-shifted electro-hydraulic actuation. Built in teh second to last year of production, this solid roof car cost $156,715.00   brand new and was one of EXACTLY 1,042 F1 Berlinetta's built.

The Modena Yellow paint is eyecatching to say the least. The interior is solid black leather and very comfortable. A mere 14,638 miles are showing on the dodmeter. Power Windows, Power Steering and Power Locks. ABS Brakes, Traction Control, Cruise Control. Factory sound system includes AM/FM Cassette and CD Changer. Security System.  This car was originally purchased from Wide World of Cars in Spring Valley NY.

This car has been tucked away in storage for the past several years after the passing of it's owner. The car was last serviced in  2008 at 13,399 miles.

This Ferrari is definately something to look at.. And oh so much fun to drive!!

Take a video tour of the Ferrari F12 TdF's V12 engine

Fri, Oct 16 2015

Ferrari's transformation of the F12 Berlinetta from a handsome GT into a road-devouring monster – the F12 TdF – seems impressive. To make sure the engine has a wail to match the threatening exterior, the Italians massaged the 6.3-liter V12 up to 769 horsepower and 520 pound-feet of torque. It now redlines at a screaming 8,900 rpm, and propels the coupe to 62 miles per hour in just 2.9 seconds. This new video takes viewers inside the upgraded mill to illustrate how these improvements were made. Among the host of changes, the intake receives variable-geometry intake trumpets. Even in his computer-animated video, they're amazing to watch in action. Ferrari has some other tricks too, though. Let the company show you the benefits of all the tweaks in this clip.

NHTSA fines Ferrari $3.5 million for missing reports

Fri, 31 Oct 2014

Ferrari will pay a $3.5 million penalty for family to comply with oversight requirements set forth by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
The federal agency that oversees road safety in the United States announced Friday morning that Ferrari had not submitted early warning reports for the past three years. These reports help the agency identify potential or existing safety threats.
In the wake of the rolling recalls for defective General Motors ignition switches, there has been considerable scrutiny of NHTSA's handling - or mishandling - of these early warning reports. Friday's fine is an indication the agency is taking its enforcement mandates more seriously, albeit against a manufacturer that has no large-scale presence on American roads.

Ferrari California T has a turbo V8 lurking under new nose [w/video]

Tue, 04 Mar 2014

The Ferrari California might technically be the Prancing Horse's entry-level model, but there is nothing basic about the latest upgrade for the California T. Showing its face to the public for the first time at the Geneva Motor Show, it is now propelled by a 3.9-liter, turbocharged V8 with 560 horsepower and 557 pound-feet of torque, which equates to an extra 70 hp and a 49 percent increase in torque over the previous engine.
The forced induction mill is enough to accelerate it to 62 miles per hour in 3.6 seconds. Also not that many Ferrari buyers are going to care, but the switch also means a 15 percent improvement in fuel economy. Oh, and based on the video preview below, it sounds pretty good, too.
While the new engine is certainly the headline grabber, there are other upgrades as well: a top that closes in 14 seconds, new steering box, improved magnetic dampers and an upgraded traction control system. Pininfarina also reshaped the nose to make it more look like Ferraris of the 1960s. This is seems to be the best looking and performing California yet.
