This my personal 348 titled in my name- owned for about 3 years. Great overall shape -  real head turner at the Ferrari Club of New England concours event this summer. This car has been maintained since new and I have a binder of reciepts for it since new. 30,000 mile belt service done in 08 a mere 5000 miles or so ago. Oil changed about 600 miles ago at dealership.  The car was having what I would guess was hot start problems. I was told it could be a sensor connection problem where you unhook a plug under the dash and put contact lube on it (I didn't do it) or you could replace the fuel pressure regulators which seemed to make sense so thats what I did about 50 miles ago and I havent had the problem since. New battery this summer and Kenwood CD player.

When I bought the car online a few years back I thought it was a perfect car and after shelling out around 40k I go it home and noticed a few flaws I wasn't told about. I would rather have all known issues spelled out for me so I'm going to list below what I know:

1) rear trunk shock/piston doesnt hold the engine lid open

2) Dr power window switch for the pass side door only works going down (a cheap fix)

3) heater blower has only worked on high since I have owned it- I never looked into it

4) there is a touch up on the rear bumber, a slight indentation at the bottom of the car in front of the rear tire, there is an old scratch down part of the side (can only see it at the right angle and maybe could be buffed- have not had anyone try), the front of the doors and QP's right in front of them have some slight damage with touch-up from the doors being opened to far (have not tried to blend but are hardly noticible- see pictures)

All of these things were there when I got the car and it still looks great but I figured I would be different then most ebay sellers and outline everything I know. Its a used car and things break so most of the issues it has a perfectly normal for a car of this age- its held up very nicely and has been reliable.  The car runs great sounds awesome and is a real headturner.  The fact it is a convertible makes it worth more and is great to drive at night with the top down.  There is a top boot, the tool kit and the manuals and a ferrari car cover included as well. Ready for your local Ferrari Club event.

Its a used car so I am selling the car as is where is- shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. Deposit of $300 due within 48 hours of auction close and full payment due within 7 days. I won't release the car or title until the full payment clears.

Sell to the contenential US only.

Please ask questions before bidding and secure funding and shipping estimates before bidding.

How not to unload the 1 of 1 Ferrari P4/5 Competizione from a trailer

Mon, 28 Oct 2013

Believe it or not, unloading a car from a transport vehicle is a delicate science. It's alarmingly easy to damage a car in the tight, elevated confines of a dedicated car hauler, but as these gentlemen at the Monterey car week found out, even getting a car off a flatbed comes with its own unique set of challenges.
When the car you're moving off said flatbed is the only Ferrari P4/5 Competizione in existence, meticulously built to the specifications of Ferrari collector James Glickenhaus, we imagine the stress level is even greater. Yes, this is an unloading gone wrong, although it could have always been worse. The movers have the right idea, working boards underneath the car, but simply didn't account for the car moving them. The result is a racecar, resting ever so gracefully, on its carbon-fiber nose. Getting the car out of such a precarious position safely requires nearly as much skill as getting it off in the first place.

Ferrari California replica from Ferris Bueller is so choice

Sat, 29 Jun 2013

We like car auctions well enough, but often the high-end affairs are a bit too much like outdoor museums - very beautiful and very cold, and you're not allowed to touch anything. A perfect case in point is the upcoming Mecum auction during the 2013 Pebble Beach weekend, which will feature the legendary replica Ferrari 250 GT California Spyder used in none other than Ferris Bueller's Day Off. Only three were made. The current owner spent ten years restoring this car. It is his love, it is his passion. (Well, it was before he decided to auction it, anyway.)
Actually built by Modena Design and Development in El Cajon, CA, the official name of the stunning replica is Modena Spyder California. Built up on a tube frame, with a meticulously maintained interior and powered by a 500-horsepower small block V8 the car is so choice. If you have the means, we highly recommend picking one up.
Mecum hasn't suggested a predicted auction price for the Hollywood relic as of yet, but with the perfect pedigree to pull Gen X heartstrings, and the proliferation of stupid-wealthy fourtysomethings in and around northern California, we wouldn't be surprised to see a decent value. Just don't wait on it, life moves pretty fast around Pebble Beach. If you'd like to read a full description of the car with fewer script-quotes, look, it's real simple, scroll down.

Weekly Recap: Ferrari, Ford and Porsche power up for Geneva

Sat, Feb 7 2015

Monday was Groundhog Day. Tuesday, apparently, was Sports Car Day. The Ferrari 488 GTB, the Ford Focus RS and the Porsche Cayman GT4 all debuted within hours of each other ahead of their rollouts at the Geneva Motor Show. Three sporty machines, three vastly different approaches – and a lot of implications for enthusiasts. That's a day worth repeating. It also illustrates the opportunities automakers see in the performance market, which is expected to grow in the coming years. Ford estimates the segment has expanded 14 percent in Europe and surged 70 percent in North America since 2009. The Detroit Auto Show was evidence of this, and performance cars of every stripe debuted, including the Acura NSX, Ford GT, Alfa Romeo 4C Spider and several others. This isn't a fad. Performance cars aren't going away. The question is why? Stricter CAFE standards are looming in the United States, as are tighter emissions regulations in Europe. And no one expects gas prices to remain low in America. None of this matters for sports cars, and automakers are increasingly using them to elevate their images. That's why Dodge rolled out two 707-horsepower Hellcats last year. It's why Ford has decided to resurrect the GT for road and track. It's why in the depths of bankruptcy, General Motors continued work on the Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, not to mention the Z06. "Great brands are made one car at a time," Ford of Europe president Jim Farley said at the reveal of the Focus RS. Still, companies make those cars for different reasons. View 5 Photos Mainstream brands like Ford and Dodge want to build cars that get people talking, excite their bases and drive more potential customers into the showroom. They probably don't buy a Focus RS or a Hellcat, but suddenly the regular Focus hatch looks a bit hotter, and that V6 Charger seems to be just a touch more muscular. The halo of performance is alive and well in the eyes of automakers and their customers. "It's one of the most effective catalysts for ingenuity and innovation," said Joe Bakaj, vice president of product development for Ford of Europe. That also leads to a trickle-down effect. Some of the technologies inevitably make their way to other products. It's hard to think the new all-wheel-drive system in the Focus RS that distributes torque front to rear and side to side won't be used in other vehicles. It's different for Ferrari and Porsche.
