This is a NO RESERVE AUCTION
I purchased this great 308 last summer with the plan to keep it only one year to satisfy my Magnum PI dream. The year is up and despite the protests of my kids, I am selling the car as originally planned. We have been really happy with our purchase and have enjoyed the ride. This particular car was purchased by me because it is a "driver car" and was being sold close to home. When I bought it in Summer 2013 it had just had major service done to belts and hoses, etc. which was a key reason I bought it. I have receipts to verify the completed work. There are only 3000 miles on the car since the service was completed. Since I have owned it I have also replaced the horn compressor ($500), the steering rack ($2000), and have a "new" antenna motor ($400) that is uninstalled currently because the antenna switch is no longer working. I'm told with a new switch the antenna will be up and running. I have not sought a new switch because I am selling the car. EXTERIOR Paint is excellent. The car was stripped down to the metal and repainted - possibly 15 years ago but the paint remains in very excellent shape. It's one of the strongest features on the car. Metal - two very small, discreet and shallow pings on the top of the right fender. Almost look like light hail but paintless dent repair would handle easily. Very hard to see however w/o being at the right angle and lighting. Bumpers - likely original and in fantastic shape - no blemishes. Glass - two small chips on windshield but no cracking/spidering and no need to take any action on the windshield. Removable top in excellent shape - only item to note is minor water marks to the interior/material and cleanable. Exterior is shiny and perfect. Tires - older Michelins but tread is good and there's some good life left in them. Wheels - original likely and in good but not perfect shape. Some rubs on them. INTERIOR Carpet very good. Original floor mats. Doors trim is good. Dashboard is excellent. Rearview mirror not attached - every time I got in car I hit my head on it so I have it off now. Center console is worn with some very small rips in the leather that wraps it. All knobs work with the exception of the antenna switch as mentioned above. Passenger seat - leather shows age and is giving way to some of the tan hide color. Not rips or tears or heavy wear to seams etc. Driver seat - this is in not as good shape. The entry side to the seat is showing some issues on the seam on the back portion and the lower portion bead is in poor shape - see picture. This seat needs repaired or replaced depending on your plans for the car. I've had seat covers on them since I owned the car. Just was my preference so they wouldn't take any additional wear to them. We have original handbook, tool set in bag, and Ferrari keychain. MECHANICALS Wipers, radio, AC, windows all work. Driver window slower than passenger window Headlights pop up and work well Horn works with new compressor Turn signals and brake lights good. Motor starts reliably and runs well - idles beautifully. Exhaust still good but old. Brakes are good. Oil change 300 miles ago Clutch is good. RECENT INSPECTION at reputable local Ferrari repairer (Layland Motors, Canton Ohio) shows need to replace front shock bushings and notes that brake lines are intact but are original and who knows how much longer they will last. This inspection also noted slight leak to valve. I have not noted any leaks from oil or any fluids anywhere. The inspector noted that this is a very solid "driver" car and that if he were being picky and owned it he would likely put $3-4k into it to get it where he would want it. There is a rattling that occurs when car starts particularly - the inspector notes that it's likely a heat shield vibrating agains exhaust. I note that as the car warms up the rattling becomes much less often. No impact on drive-ability of car. There are no other known issues with this car. It has been a blast to drive and it gets a lot of attention - including people who want to take a pic with it etc. This car drives solid and looks really, really good. Starts every time and idles like a champ. I want you to be very confident about this car so please ask questions and I will do my best to answer. This car is being sold AS-IS naturally. I require a $500 Paypal refundable deposit for winning bidder and balance due by cashier's check within 7 days unless Seller and Buyer make other arrangements. If you want to inspect first I would welcome that. I will not be the shipper but I will gladly work with you as you arrange shipping. I have perfect feedback and I want to keep it that way so please ask your questions and I will do my best to give the most accurate answer. Thanks!! On Aug-21-14 at 13:04:16 PDT, seller added the following information: UPDATE TO LISTING MAJOR SERVICE WAS COMPLETED ON JUNE 13, 2013. TOTAL JOB WAS OVER $6500 BASED ON 73 HOURS OF LABOR INC R&R MOTOR. WORK DONE IN DETROIT. On Aug-25-14 at 18:31:46 PDT, seller added the following information: I had a question today about the underside of the car. I haven't spent any real time underneath but it looks like it's 35 years old but no structural issues etc. The muffler is not new so it has surface rust on it. It still works fine now. |

Ferrari makes its return to Need For Speed: Rivals in a big way
Thu, 14 Nov 2013With all the excitement over Forza Motorsport 5 and Gran Turismo 6, it's easy to forget that there's another racing game from an even older franchise coming out. The latest Need For Speed installment, Rivals, is set to hit stores November 15 (this Friday) for the Playstation 4, November 19 for PS3 and XBox 360, and November 22 for the XBox One. As part of the run up to the launch, we have a great look at all the new Ferrari content for the new title, which marks only the second time the Italian marque has been in an NFS game.
The last time we saw a prancing horse in Need For Speed was 2009's Shift, when we got ten models as part of a paid, downloadable pack. In anticipation of Ferrari's return to the series, we've got a gallery of images of some of the featured models, like the F12 Berlinetta (which we've shown you before), the FF, the Enzo, the 599 GTO and both the 458 Italia and Spider. All of which are bound to make for phenomenal tools for escaping the virtual cops.
We'll have a more extensive look at Need For Speed: Rivals in the near future, but until then, have a look at the game's Ferrari content up top.
In case you forgot, the Dubai Police supercar fleet is the coolest
Tue, Feb 10 2015Ever wonder why the Dubai Police have a fleet of vehicles worth millions and millions and millions of dollars? Why it has a Bugatti Veyron and a Bentley Continental and a Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG with sirens and light bars? Well, here's the reason. This video shows the fleet on display on the Emirate's roads and highways, while also reaching out to the people the police are meant to protect. It's an impressive display of machinery, to be sure. Alongside the Bentley, Bugatti and Mercedes, we spy a Ferrari FF, a Brabus G-Wagen, a BMW M6, a Nissan GT-R, an Audi R8 and a McLaren MP4-12C (although the latest Dubai Police car, the Lexus RC F, is absent). The video even has a very cinematic look and feel to it, which works well with the night scenes and the blues-and-twos of the exotics cruisers. Ferrari wants to provide Red Bull with its own engines
Tue, Nov 10 2015Ferrari is proposing a different sort of arrangement that could provide Red Bull with the engines it needs to continue competing in Formula One. Rather than sell the team the same engines its own competition department uses, the Maranello outfit suggests creating a separate engineering program for Red Bull to get its own engine package. The issue of where Red Bull will get its engines has been looming over the paddock for several months. Though its current partnership with Renault yielded four straight world championships, the relationship has gone sour over the last couple of years as performance has dropped off. That has left Red Bull looking for a new engine supplier, but with Ferrari, Mercedes, and Honda all powering their own entries, none have been particularly keen to motivate Red Bull. A proposal to bring Volkswagen into the sport in partnership with the team fell apart in the wake of the diesel emissions scandal. And while the FIA may be moving ahead to bring an independent engine supplier into the series, that doesn't look likely to take shape in time for next season. Ferrari – like Mercedes and McLaren-Honda – says it won't simply hand one of its chief rivals the same engine package as it uses itself. But speaking to Motorsport.com at Ferrari's Finali Mondiali event at Mugello this weekend, Sergio Marchionne proposed a different course of action. That would involve making the building blocks of Ferrari's power unit, along with the wealth of its engineering talent, available to Red Bull for the team to plot its own engine development program in parallel to Maranello's own. The Ferrari chairman (and Fiat Chrysler chief) says he has already raised the idea with Red Bull chief Dietrich Mateschitz and his racing adviser Helmut Marko. If it does work out, we could potentially see Ferrari setting up similar programs with its other customer teams. Those currently include Sauber and Marussia, and Haas and Toro Rosso could soon join the mix as well. Adding Red Bull would mean that over half of the grid would be powered by Ferrari engines as soon as next season.
