You will find here an outstanding example of the 308 GTSI.    1985 was the last year for the QV and many feel this is the best year of the series, surely one of the best.     I have certain criteria that I use in well over 60 cars that I have acquired.  I seek out cars that are in stock, original condition, few owners, most often CA car, extensively maintained with strong documentation and this car fit these criteria.

When one talks about records, this is a fully documented car with ALL receipts in a binder, starting from a copy of the window sticker, originally sold out of CALIFORNIA FERRARI in San Francisco, CA.    This car has been in CA throughout it's entire history and cared for by enthusiast/collectors such as myself.    It has been serviced timely for majors and annuals alike.

This Ferrari is somewhat rare due to the gorgeous color combination.    The Prugna metallic was a $830 option at the time.   I have only found in the registry less than a handful of 1985's in Prugna and none had a black interior.

I am not a novice to Ferrari as I have owned numerous and can thus clearly state this is a wonderful example, drives superb, performs flawlessly.    A timeless piece of art.

Service records start at Newport Motors back in January of 1986.

South Coast Ferrari Service completed the 15,000 mile service at 12,241 miles.

Major Service then performed in July, 1991 at 23,058 miles.

Major 30,000 miles service provided by Bobileff Motor Car Company at 30,020 miles on Feb, 1997 and Oct. 05 with 49,931 w/ various services and annual fluid changes attended to in between these visits.

Next cam belt changed Jan 2012 by Bobileff.     Also, new tensioner bearings, new brake pads, fluid service, etc.   Bobileff serviced the car for 16 years.

Last set of tires installed in February 2012 by The Auto Gallery.   New hood struts also installed.

In Sept 2012 The Auto Gallery adjusted the clutch, speedo was re-calibrated by Palo Alto Speedometer, replaced in line fuse system, replaced expansion tank.

Wheels redone.

Recently shown at the Pasadena Ferrari Concorso as part of the Southwest Region, many gorgeous examples present and this car won Silver.

Thank you for looking, enjoy bidding on this great car.

Tesla layoffs, new safety mandates, and a bumper crop of V12s! | Autoblog Podcast #830

Fri, May 3 2024

In this episode of the Autoblog Podcast, Editor-in-Chief Greg Migliore is joined by Associate Editor Byron Hurd for a gasoline-powered installment. They lead off by diving into the Tesla layoff news from this week before leaving electrification behind for a bit to talk about not one, but two production V12 unveilings. This isn't a drill, folks; Aston Martin and Ferrari are both committed. After that, they touch on the U.S. government announcement that it would mandate automatic emergency braking systems starting in 2029. They finish up the news segment with a chat about Fisker. Poor, poor Fisker. From there, it's on to the road tests. The Autoblog team has been testing out some EVs and both Byron and Greg had some thoughts to share, plus we get a final update from Byron on the long-term Subaru WRX and some notes from both drivers about the updated Range Rover Evoque.  Send us your questions for the Mailbag and Spend My Money at: Podcast@Autoblog.com. Ferrari 458 Speciale A is most powerful Prancing Horse convertible ever

Thu, 25 Sep 2014

Let all of the speculation finally end because the convertible version of the Ferrari 458 Speciale is here. However, the Prancing Horse isn't calling it a spider; instead it's dubbed the 458 Speciale A, which stands for Aperta or "open" in English. It's also limited to a scant 499 cars, a few more than the 458 first rumored.
Regardless of its name or production numbers, what really matters is Ferrari's claim that this is its the most powerful droptop production model ever. That is thanks to the same 4.5-liter V8 from the hardtop Speciale, with 597 horsepower and 398 pound-feet of torque.
The aluminum-retracting top doesn't change performance much, while letting the wind blow through the owner's hair at ludicrous speeds. Ferrari claims the setup adds about 110 pounds (50 kilograms) to the overall weight and can open or close within 14 seconds. Acceleration to 62 miles per hour is reported at 3.0 seconds, about a tenth slower than the coupe, and the Aperta can hustle to 124 mph in 9.5 seconds.

eBay Find of the Day: Your choice of new, unregistered mid-2000s supercars

Wed, 26 Dec 2012

If you didn't quite find what you were hoping to see under the tree this year, maybe it's about time you buy yourself something nice. Something like an unregistered 2005 Porsche Carrera GT. The car has never been titled and has just 83 miles on the odometer. With one owner since new, the Carrera GT is likely to be as nice an example as you're likely to find outside of a museum. Porsche only built 340 of these machines back in 2005, and with a 610 horsepower V10 kicking at your spine, you can lap Santa's sleigh next year. Currently, the Carrera GT has a buy it now price of $457,325 with around six days left on the auction.
Not flashy enough for your tastes? Stroll on down to West Hollywood and you'll find a similarly untitled 2004 Ferrari Enzo up for grabs with a sticker of $1.8 million. Technically a Euro-spec car, the Enzo isn't legal to operate on US roads, but could be modified to satisfy Uncle Sam with a little effort. The seller calls this car the "last brand-new Enzo in existence" and with 175 miles on the clock, that may be a true statement. You can head over to eBay Motors for a closer look if you're feeling spendy.
