Up for auction is:

1983 Ferrari 308 GTS Quattrovalvole USA model.

Condition: It is all original.  It is in immaculate condition and runs great.  It just passed smog without any issues.

History: It is a California car and has had 3 owners.  It was purchased at Newport Imports in Newport Beach CA on July 27, 1983.  The first owner, from Westlake Village in the Northern Los Angeles area, owned it until 1994.  The car spent the next 11 years in Orinda, CA in the San Francisco Bay Area, until it was purchased by its current owner in 2005.  The third owner kept the vehicle garaged in his home in San Francisco.

Odometer disclosure: The odometer malfunctioned for about 5 years and did not record miles driven (a common problem on these cars according to Patrick Ottis company- one of the top Ferrari experts I'm the US.).  The car was driven very little and so the recorded mileage is probably only off from the true mileage by about 5,000 miles.

Maintenance: For the last 10+ years the case has been maintained by Patrick Ottis Company in Berkeley. Patrick is considered one of the top Ferrari mechanics in the US.  The last major engine out service (cam belt etc.) was performed in 2007 at a cost of $8500 (see photo of last page of multi page receipt showing total repair cost).  The tires are in very good condition and the battery is a couple weeks old.

Stereo: It has a high end Sony CD player, Linear amps, and ADS speakers.

What's included: Included are all the original manuals and books, tools, parts manual, and car cover.

Info for viewing in person: The car is available for viewing in Los Altos, CA. Interested parties are welcome to have it inspected by a Ferrari mechanic prior to purchase.

Dolphins Lineman Richie Incognito Takes Baseball Bat To Own Ferrari

Fri, Feb 28 2014

Concerned neighbors called police to the home of Miami Dolphins offensive lineman Richie Incognito Wednesday after seeing a baseball bat laying next to his battered new black Ferrari FF. They feared the football player had been the victim of a vandal, when actually it was Incognito himself who trashed his own car. CBS Miami reported Incognito took the bat to his car in a fit of rage. There were red shirts hanging from the car with Incognito's name written on them, according to TMZ. Fox 10 reached out to Incognito for an explanation as to why he would batter his own luxury sports car. "Oh that was that was just me venting, that was self expression, that's a piece of art," Incognito told Fox 10. "The happiest day of my life was when I got that car and now the second happiest day will be when I donate it to charity." Incognito has struggled with anger management issues in the past. He wrecked his car just weeks after an NFL investigation found him and two other offensive linemen had engaged in harassing fellow teammates. In 2009 he was named the NFL's 'dirtiest player.' Incognito was suspended from play in November, but had the suspension lifted earlier this month. Related Gallery Consumer Reports 2014 Top Picks View 11 Photos Weird Car News Ferrari

1957 Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa sells for record $39.8 million

Tue, 04 Feb 2014

This might not come as a shock, but ultra-rare vintage cars are only going to get more expensive as time rolls on, particularly if there's a prancing horse on the car's nose. For example, in 2011, a Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa sold for $16.39 million. In February 2012, a 1964 250 GTO sold for nearly $32 million. Later that year, a 1962 250 GTO sold for $35 million. It was the most expensive car ever sold, making last year's 275 GTB/4 NART Spider and its $27.5-million auction price seem like a drop in the platinum-lined bucket. Now, there's been another high-dollar Ferrari sale.
An unrestored, 1957 250 Testa Rossa was reportedly sold for over $39 million, making it the most expensive car ever sold in the United Kingdom. Just for perspective, $39 million is about 28 LaFerraris or roughly 128 F12 Berlinettas. It's not the most expensive car ever sold, but it still represents a huge sum of money for a classic car. Part of the reason for chassis number 0704 - the car pictured above is 0714, which sold for a mere $12.2 million in 2009 - being sold for so much is down to its excellent provenance.
It made its race debut at the 1957 24 Hours of Le Mans, although it failed to finish. Phil Hill and Peter Collins racked up wins with this exact car in Buenos Aires and Sebring, according to the folks at Hemmings. Combining race wins by a former Formula One World Champion with an unrestored example of an extremely rare car (one of just 34 250 Testa Rossas ever built) makes its monumental sale price almost seem reasonable.

Race Recap: 2013 Malaysian Grand Prix is a fool in the rain

Mon, 25 Mar 2013

Humidity, hunger and heartbreak were the takeaways from the Malaysian Formula One Grand Prix. A proper track with a wider variety of straights and corners than the street circuit in Australia, the second race of the season was expected to be a better test of the performance of the 11 teams on the grid. It was also supposed to be a more accurate test of the Pirelli tires, the bits of rubber at the four corners of the car still at the top of the performance agenda for all the top teams except for McLaren, which even larger issues with its new car to deal with.
Then it rained. Then it rained some more. Then it rained so hard just before the race that numerous drivers slid off the track on the parade lap. Then came the race, and then came the figurative tears and ones of the crocodile variety as well.
