This stunning Italian Classic has been driven only 37,500 miles in 33 years.  It comes with period correct mint 3-piece BBS 16" aluminum rims wrapped in Pirelli tires (plenty of tread).

I purchased this fine vehicle from California where it spent seemingly all of its life before I brought it to South Florida.  It comes with the original Ferrari factory congratulatory purchase letter for its first owner.  It comes with the original owners manual and factory tools as well as an extensive service history totaling approximately $30K by its previous California owner (20 years) and myself (6 years).  In addition, the previous owner spent $10K on a top notch paint job during his ownership.

In good running condition.  Timing belts serviced at 33.5K miles.  Rear brake rebuild and service last year.  Recently had ignition system serviced.  It has the upgraded fuse blocks and the electrics are in fine working order.  An issue affecting these cars at this age that is rarely mentioned is the cats getting clogged.  I had mine removed mine but kept them on hand for the next owner if they choose to rebuild them.  The smog pump is installed in the car but disconnected. If you live in a state that has emissions testing, you will have to deal with servicing the disconnected equipment.  No guarantees.

The interior is all original showing normal wear (driver's bolster), good stitching without tears.  Having been a California car and kept indoors (garaged), the body on this pre-galvanized 308 (75-82) is way better than most.  Most of the pre-galvanized 308s suffer from rust issues.  It is rust-free with the exception of rust bubbles developing on the bottom of the doors (priced accordingly).  It's a very common problem on these yet most people don't bother mentioning it on their ads.  It has rare mint bumpers and crystal clear (unfaded) lights.

The A/C is installed in the car but the belt was disconnected.  The A/C was in working order when I acquired it but useless in the summer heat.  If you want good A/C, you need to buy yourself a pricier 328 ($45,000 - $65,000), as all 308s come with sub-rate A/C systems.

Ferrari California replica from Ferris Bueller is so choice

Sat, 29 Jun 2013

We like car auctions well enough, but often the high-end affairs are a bit too much like outdoor museums - very beautiful and very cold, and you're not allowed to touch anything. A perfect case in point is the upcoming Mecum auction during the 2013 Pebble Beach weekend, which will feature the legendary replica Ferrari 250 GT California Spyder used in none other than Ferris Bueller's Day Off. Only three were made. The current owner spent ten years restoring this car. It is his love, it is his passion. (Well, it was before he decided to auction it, anyway.)
Actually built by Modena Design and Development in El Cajon, CA, the official name of the stunning replica is Modena Spyder California. Built up on a tube frame, with a meticulously maintained interior and powered by a 500-horsepower small block V8 the car is so choice. If you have the means, we highly recommend picking one up.
Mecum hasn't suggested a predicted auction price for the Hollywood relic as of yet, but with the perfect pedigree to pull Gen X heartstrings, and the proliferation of stupid-wealthy fourtysomethings in and around northern California, we wouldn't be surprised to see a decent value. Just don't wait on it, life moves pretty fast around Pebble Beach. If you'd like to read a full description of the car with fewer script-quotes, look, it's real simple, scroll down.

Latest Forza Motorsport 5 car pack leaves us scratching our head (in a good way) [w/video]

Wed, Jul 2 2014

As we scrolled down the roster of the latest car pack for Forza Motorsport 5, the Hot Wheels Car Pack, our expression became bemused over the strange mix of vehicles that we now have at our disposal. This is quite unlike any of the other sets of DLC Turn 10 Studios has offered. Sure, there are the typical headliner cars – the Lamborghini Veneno and 2015 Audi S3 – that will appeal to the mainstream racing fan or auto enthusiast. But this latest car pack is so jammed full of nuggets of automotive weirdness that it's hard not to get excited. The Hot Wheels pack has no shortage of racers, with a particular focus on historical offerings. A 1939 Auto Union Type D covers the pre-war era of Formula One, while a 1967 Lotus 49 and a 1952 Ferrari 375 represent post-war racing. For a modern twist, a Mazda USF2000 car slots in below the Indy Lights car from the Nurburgring booster pack. From here, things get vintage and weird. There are a pair of delightfully offbeat coupes, in the form of a 1974 Toyota Celica GT and a 1973 Ford XB Falcon GT (here's hoping we get a vintage Holden Monaro in the future). Those two are joined by a 1956 Ford F-100, which your author already plans on converting into a dragster with vinyl flames down the side (because that's what all vintage pickups should be). The new ride we're most excited about, though, is the 1983 GMC Vandura G-1500. Yes, that's the van from The A-Team, and we're sure it will prove to be an excellent canvas for the artists of FM5 to cover with airbrushed, fire-breathing unicorns and mystical, gray-haired wizards (or just poorly painted letters that read "Free Candy"). This latest car pack is the final monthly car pack for FM5, although Turn 10 is quick to point out that while the monthly updates are over, there will still be new batches of cars made available to gamers. As for the Hot Wheels pack, it's available now on Xbox Live for $9.99. Scroll down for the press release from Turn 10 Studios, as well as a video of the newest additions to Forza Motorsport 5's vehicle roster. Forza Motorsport 5 Hot Wheels Car Pack Now Available Turn 10 Studios is bringing the Hot Wheels® Car Pack to "Forza Motorsport 5," available for download today. The pack features a collection of vehicles built from the ground up for the new generation that car fans can collect and customize while putting their virtual driving skills to the test.

2013 Ferrari FF [w/video]

The World's Fastest Four-Passenger is Frickin' Fabulous
"I miss my mommy."
Those frightened words floated from the mouth of a five-year-old boy strapped snugly into a booster seat in the backseat of the Ferrari FF I was piloting. Moments earlier, his father had allowed me to take him, and his two brothers, for their first ride in a supercar, and I had apparently failed miserably.
