LaFerrari, McLaren P1, Porsche 918 and Agera R take to Assen

It's the show-down (sort of) we've all been waiting for. The battle of the hybrid hypercars from the performance powerhouses of Europe: Ferrari LaFerrari, McLaren P1 and Porsche 918 Spyder. No one publication has managed to get their hands on all three just yet, but this video has - and with a Koenigsegg Agera R thrown in for good measure.
The video was shot by our (unrelated) Dutch compatriots at Autoblog.nl at the TT Circuit Assen in the Netherlands. The track has played host to Champ Cars and all manner of racing bikes, but this could be the ultimate grid of actual production machinery that's ever lined up behind its start/finish line. Shame the weather was rainy and this unsurpassed array of supercars weren't really racing - more showing off for the crowds. But what a show it was. Scope out the footage in the video below.

$3M Ferrari FXX K already sold out [w/videos]

When Ferrari took the wraps off its new FXX K track machine in Abu Dhabi last week, it conspicuously left out some key details. Sure, the Prancing Horse marque told us how much power it produced, and what it had done to the aero package to make it hug the track even closer than the road-going LaFerrari on which it's based – but it didn't tell us just how fast it will go, or how much it will cost. The latest reports, however, seek to fill in those blanks. According to Ferrari marketing chief Nicola Boari in speaking to Top Gear, the FXX K will lap the company's Fiorano test track in 1 minute 14 seconds. That would make it five seconds faster than the LaFerrari, a solid second ahead of the 599XX Evoluzione and two seconds faster than the original FXX. However it seems to fall short of the eight- to nine-second gap those previous XX derivatives opened up over the road-going models on which they in turn were based. So it seems, for the time being at least, that the 1:11.9 lap time recorded by the 333 SP – an open-cockpit sports prototype from the late 1990s – will remain for now the fastest car this side of an F1 racer ever to lap the circuit. The outright record stands at under 56 seconds and belongs to Michael Schumacher in the ten-cylinder F2004 he drove to his seventh and final world championship. As for the FXX K's production, Top Gear reports that Ferrari will build fewer than 40 of them, and that they've all been spoken for – at a price of ˆ2.5 million (more than $3M) apiece. If you're not one of those forty fortunate souls to have put down their deposit, your best chance to see this rare beast in its natural habitat (at least until one of the XX track days hits a race track near you) are the live images above and the handful of videos below. Winningest Ferrari ever feted by Petrolicious

When Petrolicious showed its video starring the legendary Ferrari 250 GTO, we weren't sure it could be topped. Now, barely two weeks later, it has. Somehow, the video crew of one of our favorite YouTube series has gotten its mitts on one of the rarest, winningest, and most unique Ferraris to ever rove the planet.
This is a 1957 Ferrari 625/250 TRC, a customized stunner originally owned by Ferrari importer John Von Neumann that won a number of races across the country during its heyday. There's a lot more to this car than its wins at the Grand Prix of Mexico, Laguna Seca, Riverside and Pomona (and others), though.
See, this car was originally bought by Von Neumann alongside a second 625/250 TRC. Both cars were already rarities, sporting a 2.5-liter four-cylinder race engine sourced from Ferrari's Le Mans efforts. Von Neumann took things a step further, acquiring a 3.0-liter V12, which was then shoehorned into the sleek TRC's body. Yes, wee little Ferrari with a big ol' engine. It's a hot rod, and is one of the best looking, best sounding cars we've ever seen.
