Up for sale is a 1976 Ferrari 308 GT4 project. I took this vehicle on trade thinking it would be cool to own a Ferrari, but I've had it nearly 2 months & haven't done a thing with it. It needs to go.
I don't know much about this vehicle, but there is a wealth of information that can be found by reading the previous owners blog which is found at:
grassrootsmotorsports dot com Search Fubaru in the Project Cars section & read away.
Please take the time to read that blog, as your questions about this car most likely can be answered there. I don't know much about this car!
I've had the car examined by both a mechanic & a body/paint expert & both said "Yes, this project can be completed." They both said it will take time & money, things I don't have.
The car comes with the Subaru 2.0 turbo engine with transmission, (as shown in blog)door panels, rear seat, custom fuel tank & fuel pump, Ferrari rims & more. The Momo seats aren't included, but I will include a set of racing seats that will need to be upholstered. The rims that are included with this auction are shown in the photos of the Ferrari on the tow dolly. The tires are old, but don't appear to have dry-rot & have tread. Consider them "roller" tires.
Please understand that this is a PROJECT car & does NOT run. I was told it will crank, but due to no computerized key, the engine computer will not allow the engine to turn over. I've never heard it even crank. The windshield is cracked & the drivers window is missing. There is rust in the engine bay, wheel well areas & basically all over, but it is NOT "rusted out."
The candidate for this car is someone with a knowledge of this car & conversions.
I will consider selling the car without the engine and transmission. Please contact me for details.
When doing research on shipping, please remember that car carriers do not like moving cars that don't run & charge more to load. I am not responsible for shipping or transport charges.
You can take your time finding the best quote, as the car is in secure storage for $35.00 per month. The winning bidder must pay for the car promptly (48 hours) and pay monthly storage costs beginning October 1, 2013. If you don't have any feedback rating, your bid may be cancelled.
10% of the final sales price will be donated to my local Civil Air Patrol squadron for cadet programs, search and rescue training & aerospace education.
I will update the photos soon.

Hennessey twin-turbo Ferrari 458 boasts 738 hp, 0-60 in 2.8 seconds
Wed, 14 Aug 2013Hennessey Performance Engineering, hot off the heels of its Bugatti Veyron-crushing Venom GT, set its sights on modifying one of the finer Ferrari models. The resulting HPE700 Twin Turbo 458 is a badder, faster 458 Italia with a twin-turbo upgrade that adds 168 horsepower to the already potent 4.5-liter V8. That's 738 hp, which, paired with the extra 134 pound-feet of torque, for a total of 532 lb-ft, is good for a 2.8-second 0-60 run.
Low-inertia ball-bearing turbochargers are used to boost the power, and an air-to-water intercooler makes sure the air surging into the combustion chambers is as cool and dense as possible. Twin wastegates and blow-off valves relieve extra boost pressure and, in addition to a new stainless-steel exhaust system, add some new noises to the 458's soundtrack. The V8 is boosted to a relatively mild 7 psi maximum and maintains 6 psi on its way up to redline. A reflash of the engine control unit brings the package together. HPE is confident enough about its wares that the $59,995 upgrade also comes with a one-year/12,000-mile warranty.
The HPE700 Twin Turbo 458 is set to be unveiled on Friday at the Concorso Italiano located at the Laguna Seca Golf Ranch, which is part of California's Monterey Car Week festivities. It also can be viewed on Saturday in the paddock at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca for the Monterey Historics Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion vintage car races. Check out the press release below for the full details, as well as a video of the Ferrari in action.
Ferrari to debut new twin-turbo California in the spring
Wed, 18 Dec 2013Ferrari hadn't made a turbocharged engine since the F40 ended its production cycle in 1992. But that all changed when it helped Maserati develop its new 3.8-liter twin-turbo V8. That turbo engine has so far been shoehorned into the Quattroporte, along with its 3.0-liter V6 cousin that also powers the smaller Ghibli. But soon it'll wear the Prancing Horse badge as further details emerge on the next-generation California.
Set to arrive in time for the spring (likely to be unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in March), the new California will reportedly ditch its naturally-aspirated V8 in favor of a reworked version of the Quattroporte's twin-turbo unit, which at 523 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque is already considerably more muscular than the current California's 483 hp and 372 lb-ft.
The new California will likely be closely based on the outgoing model, but benefit from revised aluminum sheetmetal and an updated cabin with a new infotainment system - two areas in which the current model has scored low marks.
Watch this Ferrari 288 GTO get a top-flight detailing job
Wed, 02 Jan 2013Detailing was once the last thing we had any interest in doing, and if such a thing were possible we had even less interest in watching someone else detail some other car. We don't feel that way anymore, fascinated by the minutiae uncovered in while watching Todd Cooperider and Polished Bliss detail some examples of Prancing Horses.
Next up on the detailing honor roll is Larry Kosilla of Ammo NYC. Company founder Kosilla said he has wanted to be the best detailer on Earth ever since he was a kid, and his company makes products to serve detailers with that kind of passion. Now, we can watch him put his knowledge and elbow grease to work on a Ferrari 288 GTO.
The biggest issue with the eighties wondercoupe is that it is made of three different materials, each of which will cause the same coat of paint to react differently to the same products according to Kosilla. There's also the fact that he's working in what appears to be a rather poorly lit garage, but by the time he gets to the end of the two-day job it's clear he knows exactly what he's doing. Detailing school begins in the video just below.
