1975 Dino 308 GT4
Recent Service, Rare Factory Metallic Gray

We are offering a lovely Weber carburetted Dino 308 GT4 Vin 10038. The car was supplied from the factory not in the obligatory red, but in a rare and attractive metallic grey that really accentuates the angles of the Bertone designed body. The body is excellent rust free and appears to have original paint with only minor flaws for its age. There is a minor dent on the lowest part of driver side door that only shows in certain angles. The interior is very good all original with just minor wear to d/s seat bolster. Owner manual and tools are present. These carburetted early Ferrari’s are very easy for a competent home mechanic to service and maintain. Probably the easiest and most enjoyable Ferrari to own and service. The lack of electronics make everything serviceable with proper patience and parts, and has attracted many engineer type owners. We believe this is a three owner car with prior long-term California ownership. The current owner acquired this Ferrari with intentions of keeping it many years, but unexpected financial requirements require its sale. He commissioned our restoration shop to prepare the car for spring driving season and completed extensive recommissioning work. This Ferrari has just been given a comprehensive complete service including new cam belts, tensioner, hoses and water pump. A major tune was performed including valve adjust. both door windows have been fitted with new felts and converted to relays and now function better than factory design. To ensure this Ferrari could be driven as intended a new full set of Michelin XAS tires were fitted to the original Chromodora wheels. This retains the proper balance and handling that make these cars a delight to drive. Total service and tire replacement came to $11,000 and was completed last month. It is equipped with full A/C but is not charged with freon at this time and may require some service to function. The fresh mechanical work insures the new owner will have few future surprises. This car starts without fuss and shifts and drives very well, rewarding the driver with crisp response to all inputs. It should supply the new owner with years of driving and ownership pleasure and is priced to sell. If you are even considering Ferrari this would be a good choice.

Jeep and Ram could be spun off from FCA, says Marchionne

Thu, Apr 27 2017

Jeep is surely the biggest single feather left in the cap of the Fiat Chrysler Automobiles portfolio. Under Sergio Marchionne's leadership, Jeep went from fewer than 500,000 annual sales in 2008 to 1.4 million in 2016, and is on track for 2 million by 2018. Add in the brand's legacy, status as one of the most recognizable nameplates in the world, and rabid fan base, and Jeep has extraordinary monetary value to its parent company. Investors and analysts have certainly noticed Jeep's inherent value. According to The Detroit Free Press, Morgan Stanley's Adam Jonas asked FCA chief Sergio Marchionne if he would ever consider spinning Jeep and Ram, FCA's dedicated truck brand, into a separate corporate entity, and he responded with a simple "Yes." Jonas estimated Jeep's worth in January of this year at $22 billion. Ram was valued at $11.2 billion. Marchionne has a history of spinning off brands while keeping them part of FCA's corporate umbrella. The most noteworthy example of this value maximization was with Ferrari, which now trades on the New York Stock Exchange and rakes in $3.4 billion in annual revenue and close to $435 million in net income, reports the Free Press. Marchionne still serves as chairman and CEO of Ferrari, and Fiat heir John Elkann owns 22 percent of the Italian marque's shares. Even if the offloading of Jeep and Ram into a separate entity would amount to little more than a profit-driven ownership change on paper, it would be huge news to the brands' loyal fanbases. In any case, such a move would likely take years to actually happen and probably wouldn't mean much at all to the products that Jeep and Ram produce. In other words, Jeep fans can keep the pitchforks in the shed ... for now. Related Video: This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. FCA likely won't sell more than 10% of Ferrari stake

Fri, Apr 17 2015

The initial public offering of Ferrari on the stock market is likely coming in the second or third quarter of this year, but apparently the exact stake of the Prancing Horse set to hit the exchange isn't final. When FCA first announced the plan to spin off Ferrari, the idea was for 10 percent of the stock to go on the open market in the US and maybe also in Europe. Another 10 percent would go to company vice chairman and Enzo's son Piero Ferrari, and the remaining 80 percent would be divided among current shareholders, including a large portion for the Agnelli family. FCA CEO Sergio Marchionne hasn't finished tweaking those numbers, though. Last month, he indicated the automaker might put more than 10 percent of Ferrari on the market to boost liquidity. However, the original proposal has now returned to the table. "I don't believe we will go above 10 percent," Marchionne said, according to Automotive News, but also noted things weren't final. By increasing the Ferrari stock on the open market for the IPO, FCA decreases the amount going to current shareholders, according to Automotive News. With that being the case, don't expect too much of the Prancing Horse to be offered up to investors when the stock hits the market. Related Video:

The exotic '80s: Ferrari, Lamborghini, Lotus and the Porsche 959

Thu, Apr 9 2015

There's no secret that we are big fans of the MotorWeek Retro Review series around here. In an automotive world that often focuses on the latest tech and what's coming in the future, it's refreshing to take a look into the past to get a new perspective. That said, the show is really outdoing itself this time by posting a full episode from the '80s to YouTube, complete with the original, jazzy opening. The video is an absolute standout, too, with drives of some of the best supercars that Europe could offer at the time. Among the now classic sportscars that MotorWeek got to drive are the Ferrari 328, Lotus Esprit Turbo, Lamborghini Jalpa and Autokraft AC Mark IV. There's even a preview that sings the praises of the tech in the Porsche 959. The episode is basically a showcase of most of the exotics from young enthusiasts' walls and school folders during the '80s and is not to be missed.
