1992 Dodge Stealth R/t Turbo Awd, No Reserve! (like Mitsubishi 3000gt Vr-4) on 2040-cars
Santa Ana, California, United States
For Sale, AS-IS.
I’m selling my 1992 Dodge Stealth R/T Turbo that I’ve owned
for the last 17 years. I’m a mechanical engineer so I’m going to tell you
everything I know about it – This car needs to go to the right kind of owner. Currently has starter relay issue requiring you to connect a jumper underhood to get it to start. Drives very well, and fast. Handles amazingly well: Intrax 1.75” lowering springs, KYB GR-2 Shocks, 3SX adjustable rear lower control arms. 19” x 9” Moda wheels –only a few years old Nice exterior/ paint. Almost always garaged. New transmission installed at about 80k miles New transfer case installed at about 105k miles (factory recall) Bridgestone Potenza RE091A Pole Position tires (50-75% of tread left) Same owner for last 17 years. I have all records on it since 61k miles. ALL RECORDS -- oil changes, every part changed, all gas fill-ups. I wrote everything down. Borla stainless steel exhaust and 3SX downpipe – new in 2011, has only about 6k miles on it Stock engine except for Intake / Exhaust – no problems smogging it, have C.A.R.B. sticker for K&N intake. It was just smogged last August, but I will get it smogged again for the next buyer. Awesome stereo – Top of the line Alpine and competition Blaupunkt amp, JBL 12” sub, Kenwood 6.5” front door speakers, Alpine tweeters, sound deadening throughout. Clutch was new at about 120k: South Bend TZ Clutch with Fidanza aluminum flywheel Engine oil has been Mobile One 10W30 since I purchased the car with 60k, and changed every 3000 miles. Maintenance followed by the book – owner is a mechanical engineer. HKS Boost gage – Although the car has never run higher than stock boost. MSD Coil wires ’97-98 3000GT hoop spoiler
The not so good: Has a slight stumble at 2000 rpm. I just had the ECU rebuilt by AVPros, and it
made no difference. You would have to know the car very well like I do to detect this... the engine pulls very strongly. Driver’s seat is worn through on side bolster. Custom leather seat skins for $300, and it
takes about 8 hours of labor to install – I can give you contact info for this. Passenger seat has some wear but is not torn at all.
Transmission has a bit of gear whine, and has for last 35k
miles or so since an end cap came off letting contaminants in. The transmission was flushed and sealed back
up at the time. Brakes pulsate lightly. I am including a turned set of used Stillen Cross-drilled rotors and new EBC Green Stuff brake pads, in case you want to have completely smooth braking. Especially in very humid or wet weather, there is a starter relay which sometimes refuses to fire. When this happens, you have to run a jumper wire under the hood to get it to start. Similar issue in humid weather: there is a relay for the ABS system which sometimes sticks on. I am including a used set of good replacement relays. When this happens you have to disconnect the battery. The left rear tire has a slow leak due to a bad leak repair/ patch. It needs air about once a month, and can’t be fixed without a new tire. The car is aligned, but it pulls slightly left all the time. If you rotate the tires, you can find a combination which does not do this… one of the tires has high conicity (it is cone-shaped). I rotate the tires to improve tire wear, but this is a side effect. The lowered suspension makes the conicity / pulling more apparent. Car was in a left door sideswipe back in 1999 or so while I owned it. The door was repaired then and is as good as new (the shop did a really great job or I'd have never kept the car this long). Clean title. It is not originally a California car -- has Federal spec emissions and went through some salty winters. The underhood appearance is a bit corroded, as are some of the chassis and underbody parts. There is a tiny patch of rust on the rear deck where the factory spoiler used to be. It looks great on the outside though, from about 10 feet. There are some scratches on the rear bumper, and a little bit on the right side. There are a few door dings. These are all the issues I know about. Any one of these issues you could leave alone and just drive like this, or try to improve. |

Dodge Viper returning to Le Mans this year?
Mon, Jan 5 2015If you were among the fans disappointed by Chrysler's recent decision to end the Dodge Viper's racing program, we may have some good news for you, as the racing outfit behind the campaign is reportedly working to bring the American supercars back to Le Mans this year. That racing outfit is Riley Technologies, a constructor perhaps best known for its Daytona Prototypes, but it has also prepared its share of GT racers, too. Chrysler charged Riley with leading its racing program for the new Viper GTS-R, campaigned it in the United SportsCar Championship and the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Auburn Hills made the unfortunate decision back in March to pull its Vipers out of Le Mans, and then in October to withdraw from the US series, as well, thereby effectively ending the program altogether. Disappointed though it surely was, Riley remains defiant. The North Carolina-based company is planning on taking the existing Vipers back to Le Mans on its own, with or without factory support. The Viper has, after all, proven a capable machine, having taken both the drivers' and teams' titles in the United SportsCar Championship this past season. "With Le Mans, every driver and every manufacturer needs to have their first trip there, and it isn't always what you want it to be, but we did show reliability and did have some pace," Bill Riley told Racer.com. "Since then, we've worked hard on the cars, they're now strong, front-running cars in the US, and we're working with the ACO on the BoP to make sure the cars are strong at Le Mans. They're super-reliable and fast, and we'd expect to be right in the mix with the other cars." Riley has kept the existing support staff in place, and once it secures its driver lineup and sponsors, chances look good that it could represent America well at Le Mans this year in either the GTE Pro or GTE Am class. Its predecessor did, after all, complete a three-year winning streak that saw it dominate the GTS class right up until its withdrawal in 2000. Dodge Dart getting hatchback variant... sort of
Thu, 25 Apr 2013In other parts of the world, Fiat builds and sells a version of the Dodge Dart called the Viaggio, and it appears that in addition to the current sedan bodystyle, a new hatchback version of the car is also in the works. Autocar says that the general manager for China's Guangzhou-Fiat joint venture, John Burton, has confirmed that a new Viaggio hatchback will be revealed by the end of this year before it goes on sale in early 2014.
The Viaggio will soon be joined by the 2014 Jeep Cherokee, which in China will be called the Liberty Light, at the Guangzhou-Fiat plant. While the idea of a Dodge Dart hatchback might be enough to enable most of us to forget about the Dodge Caliber, a North American variant doesn't appear to be in the cards. We reached out to Chrysler PR boss Rick Deneau, and he offered a succinct: "No plans at this time."
These are the cars being discontinued for 2024 and beyond
Fri, Jun 21 2024While we get new and updated car models every year, its inevitable that we'll need to say goodbye to some nameplates as well. This time around, it feels like we have confirmation or reports of an unusually large number of vehicles being discontinued in 2024 and the coming years. We shouldn't be surprised. A large number of automakers are approaching their various target dates for electrification of their fleets. As such, some beloved internal combustion cars are going away, sometimes with appropriate fanfare like special editions. Others are slinking away quietly, killed by slowing sales and changing consumer trends. Of course, the end of production doesn't necessarily mean permanent death. Some of these models could be resurrected in later years ... and probably as an EV. With that in mind, here are the vehicles that are being discontinued in 2024 and beyond.  Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio and Stelvio Quadrifoglio Alfa Romeo ended the production of its combustion-only Quadrifoglio models in April 2024 as the Italian automaker moves toward an electrified future. This isn't the end of the Quadrifoglio entirely, though, with Larry Dominique, Alfa Romeo senior vice president and head of North America, writing, "I look forward to presenting the next chapter in the four-leaf clover’s journey."  Chevrolet Camaro GM is ending production of the Chevy Camaro after 2024, but is sending it off in style with a CollectorÂ’s Edition. WouldnÂ’t it be cool, though, if Chevy brought it back as an EV?  Chevrolet Malibu Rumors of its demise have been around for a while, but now itÂ’s official. GM will end production of the Chevy Malibu in November of 2024. The assembly line in Kansas will be retooled to build the replacement for the Chevy Bolt.  Dodge Durango The three-row Durango is slated to be replaced by the Stealth nameplate after 2024. The Durango name could make a comeback later, according to rumors, on a body-on frame SUV based on the Jeep WagoneerÂ’s platform.  Ford Edge This is the last year for the Edge in the U.S., with the final unit rolling off the assembly line in April. On sale since 2007, the Edge topped 100,000 sales in all but three full years of production.  Ford Escape Newly refreshed for the 2023 model year, FordÂ’s popular Escape compact SUV is reportedly taking its leave in 2025 in order to usher in — you guessed it — an EV in its place.
