Built to explore, this short tall 2006 Sprinter (Merc badging throughout) is in near perfect condition. You don't find them like this anywhere period! 83000 miles used as a personal vehicle it's whole life and never used as a commercial fleet vehicle. Always serviced well before factory recommended. Mercedes calls for oil changes at 10K I've always done it at 6K. This, IMO is the last and best year for the Sprinter Van. This is the last year for the inline 5 cylinder motor. Great gas mileage and (weld the hood closed) reliability. If you're currently looking for one of these you'll likely notice that these are generally beat up and have well over 150k on them. This is also the last year for the true European high roof styling. The newer ones look like a dodge truck lol.

Recent motor oil, transmission oil, radiator, differential oil, and brake/clutch flush and service. All turbo hoses have been upgraded to current improved versions, upgraded aluminum turbo resonator, RSN bypass upgrade. I have been working on this rig for several years while using it for occasional mountain bike trips ect. As of right now it has a full length stainless steel roof rack (designed for two solar panels to fit side by side), with ladder and light bar, swing away spare tire and 4 bike rack all custom built by Luftkraft fabrication (my performance automotive focused shop in COS). Both front seats swivel 360 deg. And there is a fold down table that seats 4 between the two front seats and the rear bench. The rear bench pulls out in seconds with the flip of two levers.

Goodyear duratrac tires all the way around including spare have about 6k on them. Hella black magic pencil beam rack mounted lights (brand new and not hooked up yet but complete with wiring harness). Aluminum aircraft track installed along both sides of the upper walls with several different fittings. Bed and platform cubbies all custom built by LK Fab need to be seen to understand the design, vision and quality. The bed has wool tweed covers over 8" memory foam. The bed is arranged to sleep two people sideways, I'm 5' 10" tall and can stretch out completely. Someone 6' would probably have their feet touching the wall. The bed platforms are set up to house two deep cell rechargeable batteries, charge controller, and the Webasto diesel heater. There is also built in storage in one of the platforms

All powdercoating and paint work i.e. body corners, swing rack, wheels, center caps ect. All done at the highest level by Spectrum Powderworks using only he best materials. Body corners are professionaly coated with Procoat. Procoat is kind of like bed liner but not as textured, its a true two part and catylized coating so it actually tougher than other commercial bed liners, plus it looks much nicer.  The Luftkraft logo on the front upper roof is a decal and will be removed before sale.  Several other parts could be included in the deal depending on what you want to do with he truck. I have a diesel Webaso solidstate gas heater complete kit new in box ready to install, I paid $1500. Also have a really nice marine speaker kit NIB cost $200.

So what is left to do to have the ultimate expedition sprinter truck? The gas heater needs to be installed and the solar system needs to be finished. There is also the possibility if desired to have Luftkraft fabrication finish the complete camper kit as I know exactly what it needs to be finished.
Oh yeah, almost forgot he flooring. It's all Armstrong industrial. Super tough, yet stylish.

There really is too much to list...the pictures tell the story. Call with questions. Mark 719 650-7187

Race Recap: Rolex 24 at Daytona was fast and feisty

Mon, Jan 26 2015

Let the record show that victory at the 2015 Rolex 24 at Daytona went to the No. 02 Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates Target/Ford EcoBoost Riley DP driven by Verizon IndyCar drivers Scott Dixon and Tony Kanaan and NASCAR drivers Jamie McMurray and Kyle Larson. The winner did 740 laps to cover 2,634.3 miles in 24 hours and 57.667 seconds. That's a statement to this year's pace in spite of 18 cautions, two more than last year: the Michael Shank Racing Ligier got pole with a time of 1:39.194, slower than last year's pole time of 1:38.270; however, the winning car last year only did 695 laps. The fight for top honors was shaved to a four-car battle over the first third of the event. The No. 02 Ganassi car took the lead on the first lap, swapping it well into the night with the No. 01 Ganassi car, the No. 10 Wayne Taylor Racing Corvette DP, and the defending champion No. 5 Action Express Corvette DP, all of them staying within about 20 seconds of one another. The Action Express car had a fuel connector come loose and lost three laps getting towed back to the pits to have it reattached, but was back in the lead 18 hours in. The No. 01 Ganassi car dropped out with recurring clutch problems 22 hours in, retiring not long after. A race-within-the-race is where the concluding action happened, a seven minute, 30-second dash from the end of the last caution to the checkered flag. During the penultimate pit stops with an hour to go, Dixon was in second place followed Jordan Taylor in the Wayne Taylor Racing DP into the pits but beat him out, taking the lead. The Action Express car was in third. In the last pit stops of the race, Dixon gained even more time, getting a four-second advantage over Taylor. Then a full-course caution came out twenty minutes before the finish when a Prototype Challenge car hit the wall and caught fire, bunching up the field. That closed the pits, but the Wayne Taylor Racing car had to pit during that yellow because of a miscalculation of driver time. No driver can be behind the wheel for more than four hours in a six-hour period but Jordan Taylor was going to go over, so he came in to swap out for brother Ricky. That cost the team any chance of second place, since they took an additional drive-through penalty for entering closed pits. When the track went green again, Sebastien Bourdais in the Action Express car stayed all over Dixon for the final five laps but couldn't get around him.

Weekly Recap: FCA hit with record fine as NHTSA crackdown continues

Sat, Aug 1 2015

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration slapped Fiat Chrysler Automobiles with a record fine this week that could reach $105 million. The punishment comes after NHTSA found problems with the automaker's execution of 23 recalls that affect more than 11 million vehicles. The consent agreement, announced Sunday, calls for FCA to pay a $70-million cash fine and requires the company to spend at least $20 million over a three-year period on industry outreach programs and to beef up old recall campaigns. Failure to comply will result in another $15-million fine. FCA also agreed to federal oversight, which includes an independent monitor to oversee the company's recalls. The $70-million cash fine equals a penalty NHTSA levied on Honda in January. "Fiat Chrysler's pattern of poor performance put millions of its customers and the driving public at risk," NHTSA administrator Mark Rosekind said in a statement. "This action will provide relief to owners of defective vehicles, will help improve recall performance throughout the auto industry, and gives Fiat Chrysler the opportunity to embrace a proactive safety culture." FCA called the deal a "consensual resolution," but admitted that it "failed to timely provide an effective remedy" during certain recalls. "We are intent on rebuilding our relationship with NHTSA and we embrace the role of public safety advocate," the company said in a statement. The announcement kicked off a busy week for the automaker. NHTSA agreed FCA did not need to recall 4.7 million vehicles after an investigation failed to find defects with a power module used in some Jeep, Dodge, and Ram vehicles. A Georgia judge also reduced a civil verdict involving a death in a Jeep Grand Cherokee crash. Amid all of that, the company reported net profit of about 333 million euros, or $364 million in the second quarter on Thursday. OTHER NEWS & NOTES FCA ramps up Hellcat production Despite a decidedly legal and financial week for FCA, there was still time for the performance side of the business to briefly grab the spotlight. The automaker is more than doubling its production of the Dodge Challenger and Charger SRT Hellcats in response to strong demand. The order bank opens the second week of August and production begins in September. FCA will finish up its scheduled 2015 model-year Hellcat builds, and cancel any "unscheduled" versions, though customers will get discounted pricing for 2016.

Old vs. New: 2014 SRT Viper takes on upgraded 16-year-old Dodge Viper

Fri, 08 Feb 2013

It's easy to play the "Would you rather have a New X or an Old Y with a bunch of upgrades?" game more often than we care to admit, but the crew at Car and Driver have taken bench racing to the next level with their latest video. In it, the magazine pits a brand-new 2014 SRT Viper against a highly modified 1997 Dodge Viper GTS. There are 16 years between the time this particular GTS rolled off the production line and when the new car bowed, but that doesn't mean the old snake's owners have been sitting on their hands.
Thanks to a spate of modifications, the GTS offers up a better power to weight ratio than the new machine, but is that enough to overcome the technological leap forward represented by the 2014 Viper? We won't spoil it for you. You'll just have to check out the full clip below for yourself.
