2008 Dodge / Mercedes Sprinter Diesel Passenger 170 Lwb , Rv Conversion Ready on 2040-cars
Antelope, California, United States
Up for sale is my Sprinter van . 2008 DEF free , Dodge rebadged Mercedes Sprinter , hard to find passenger van . This is NOT a standard van , as it was a special order and the original price was 60k. Passenger vans were NOT tortured by assembling / reassembling , like cargo vans !!!!! Passenger vans are MADE IN GERMANY . A bulletproof 3.0 V6 engine with a DOUBLE timing chain, unlike new 2014 with 2.1 liter , 4cyl. with a SINGLE timing chain that stretches after or before 100k !!!! No more longevity with 2014 + MB 4cyl. Sprinters !!! A local dealer told me that they have seen 3.0 l V6 Sprinters from FEDEX with as much as 700k !!!! Can 4 cylinder Sprinter do it ?? I doubt . I have a picture of a stretched timing chain in a 4 cyl. Sprinter . This is a nice and clean van , no pets and no smoking owner. It has a lots of options . AUX battery, ( 100AH is a factory battery , but I upgraded it to a much more useful 200AH , $900 ) 220 AMP alternator ( was optional then and is standard now ) Espar heater booster , rear AUX heater , front and rear compartment insulation and rear heat insulation , glove box with air conditioner , comfort seats ,, seats airbags ( thorax ) and side windows airbags / curtains , leatherette seats , Premium sound audio 20 , steering wheel control buttons , front and rear heavy duty stabilizer bars , fog lights , convenience lighting , grab handles , privacy glass , factory tow hitch with TSA control , rear wipers , heavy duty suspension (not available on new passengers anymore ) , U slot , lockable glove box , storage lid , seats cup holders , parktronic sensors , 4 total master keys , extra power sockets , alarm with laser motion sensors and anti jack or anti tow feature, 6 cd changer , aux input , hard to list it all . Everything that I listed and even more , cuz I just cannot remember it all - OPTIONS !!! (except for a V6 which was standard , but it is a $910 option now . When I was ordering my 2014 Sprinter , I wanted a similar options . Guess what ? My Sprinter will cost $62,620.000 !! So before you will be making an offer , please think about it . Because a lot of people , that were interested in my van , they think that all that I listed - standard . No it is not . And if you want options in a Mercedes - you have to pay for it . This is a luxury van .
Also , some aftermarket stuff , led lights integrated in headlights , upgraded German bulbs very bright , Maxxair fan with rain sensor and remote control , two deep cycle golf cart batteries 200 AH with 3000 watt power inverter , using the thickest cables 4/0 , 1150btu 110v dometic rear AC , backup camera ,led lights under seats . I also installed 5 more 12v power outlets , so now there is 10 total power outlets , I believe , There is no chips , because van has a clear bra , no rust because it has never seen salt snowy roads, it is a California van , The clear bra also on headlights and door edges and under door handles , so no scratches from nails , It has ONKI running boards , lighted . I will be taking them off before selling . They are NOT for sale . Email me with any questions . I have clean title on hands. Accident free van . I bought the van from a dealer . I ve never had any problems with this van . Everything works . No codes , no CEL lights . I used only Mobil ESP oil . Did regular maintenance. Engine oil was changed along with an air and fuel filter . Engine sounds nice and strong , At about 71k , I had my dealer to check the DPF for ash and there is 0.0 % of ash !! I have the papers to prove it . So, Mobil ESP - for life ! The transmission was serviced at 30k and at 60k , using only the right fluid and filter from dealer . Smooth as silk . I do not compromise on that stuff . Only the best will do , that is how I think . $33800 open to offers , but not lowballs , email me , Cash only deal . Mileage will change , because I drive it. AS IS !! Not responsible for anything that will happen to you and/ or anyone or van after and / or before purchase . The van is also for sale locally , so I can take it off ebay anytime . Also , some pics of the data card . I am a private seller , not a dealer . Selling because I placed an order on 2014 Sprinter with a V6 . Need to sell , so make an offer , but no lowballs. |

Chrysler says its 8-speed transmissions will save 700 million gallons
Thu, Jun 19 2014Chrysler Group's TorqueFlite eight-speed transmission could be earning some serious green bragging rights if the company's projections are correct. The recently widely proliferated automatic gearbox, which is now in more than a million vehicles around the world, is poised to save drivers an estimated 700+ million gallons of fuel over the vehicles' lifetimes (an expected cost savings of $2.5 billion). In addition, Chrysler expects a reduction in CO2 emissions by more than six million metric tons. According to Chrysler, and depending on the vehicle, the TorqueFlite can improve fuel economy. The TorqueFlite autobox features particularly close ratios from fifth to eighth gear (see the press release below for the specific numbers), and uses low-viscosity fluid that doesn't need to be replaced. Transmission software adapts to the driving situation to optimize efficiency based on driver behavior, temperature, grade, stability control, and longitudinal and lateral acceleration. The TorqueFlite is capable of handling a variety of duties. As evidenced by the wide range of vehicles Chrysler Group has seen fit to equip with the eight-speed transmission, the TorqueFlite is capable of handling a variety of duties. Since its 2012 introduction, the TorqueFlite has gone from performing cog-swapping duties in Dodge Charger and Chrysler 300 models equipped with the 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 to changing gears in vehicles such as the Pentastar- and Hemi-powered Dodge Durango, Jeep Grand Cherokee and even the Ram 1500 EcoDiesel. For the 2015 model year, the eight-speed is finding its way into even more vehicles with the addition of a third version. In addition to the American-made TorqueFlite 845RE and 8HP70, the new 8HP90 will be manufactured in Saarbrucken, Germany. The 8HP90 is designed for higher torque loads, making it ideal for high-performance vehicles like the 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat. The already-in-use 8HP70 will expand its duties to be used in 2015 Hemi models such as the Dodge Charger, Challenger, and Challenger SRT8. You can see the list of those benchmarks in Chrysler's press release below.
Chop the top of your new Dodge Viper for $35,000
Mon, 21 Jul 2014We have good news, and we have bad news. First, the good: It's now possible to get a brand-new Dodge Viper roadster, which is nice, considering we're in the dead of summer and many of us like wind-in-the-hair motoring. Now, the bad: This is not a factory option from the automaker, instead coming courtesy of an aftermarket company called Prefix Performance, and that means it's going to cost you some serious coin.
Called Medusa, this drop-top Viper was created without the knowledge or consent of Dodge, but that's probably fine because Prefix works with the automaker already for the final preparation of the American supercar, including paint. According to the company, the current, fifth-gen Viper was built with a convertible version in mind, so no chassis strengthening is required. From the looks of the somewhat grainy photos available, the conversion appears of very high quality.
Want one? Well, that means you're going to need to procure a Viper - Prefix has 10 units ready for transformation as it stands - and that's going to cost at the very least $102,485. Then, you'll need to write a check for an additional $35,000 for Prefix to surgically remove the car's roof. Thing is, for that kind of cash, a prospective owner could buy, among other very nice options, a Viper hardtop and a loaded Miata, or a Corvette Stingray convertible and several pockets full of change. Or, perhaps a new Viper hardtop and a used, first-gen Viper convertible?
Here are a few of our automotive guilty pleasures
Tue, Jun 23 2020It goes without saying, but I'll say it anyway. The world is full of cars, and just about as many of them are bad as are good. It's pretty easy to pick which fall into each category after giving them a thorough walkaround and, more important, driving them. But every once in a while, an automobile straddles the line somehow between good and bad — it may be hideously overpriced and therefore a marketplace failure, it may be stupid quick in a straight line but handles like a drunken noodle, or it may have an interior that looks like it was made of a mess of injection-molded Legos. Heck, maybe all three. Yet there's something special about some bad cars that actually makes them likable. The idea for this list came to me while I was browsing classified ads for cars within a few hundred miles of my house. I ran across a few oddballs and shared them with the rest of the team in our online chat room. It turns out several of us have a few automotive guilty pleasures that we're willing to admit to. We'll call a few of 'em out here. Feel free to share some of your own in the comments below. Dodge Neon SRT4 and Caliber SRT4: The Neon was a passably good and plucky little city car when it debuted for the 1995 model year. The Caliber, which replaced the aging Neon and sought to replace its friendly marketing campaign with something more sinister, was panned from the very outset for its cheap interior furnishings, but at least offered some decent utility with its hatchback shape. What the two little front-wheel-drive Dodge models have in common are their rip-roarin' SRT variants, each powered by turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder engines. Known for their propensity to light up their front tires under hard acceleration, the duo were legitimately quick and fun to drive with a fantastic turbo whoosh that called to mind the early days of turbo technology. — Consumer Editor Jeremy Korzeniewski Chevrolet HHR SS: Chevy's HHR SS came out early in my automotive journalism career, and I have fond memories of the press launch (and having dinner with Bob Lutz) that included plenty of tire-smoking hard launches and demonstrations of the manual transmission's no-lift shift feature. The 260-horsepower turbocharged four-cylinder was and still is a spunky little engine that makes the retro-inspired HHR a fun little hot rod that works quite well as a fun little daily driver.
