Getting sick and tired of the up and down ridiculous gas prices??  With the price of gas skyrocketing yet again, there's no better time to buy an alternative fuel vehicle.  Here is your chance to own a hard to find 2003 Dodge Ram 3500 Series CNG (Compressed Natural Gas) Cargo van.  Save big $$$ with natural gas, while helping clean up the environment.  If you have a business, this vehicle can save you a substantial amount on fuel costs! This is a factory CNG package, NOT an aftermarket retrofit.  This is a dedicated CNG vehicle and only runs on CNG.

I am a CSA certified CNG cylinder inspector.  I have been dealing in CNG vehicles for 7+ years.  All cylinders are inspected for damage in accordance with 3yr/36,000 mile guidelines so bid with confidence.  Please feel free to contact me with any questions as I am always happy to assist.  631-871-3459 (Seth).

CNG Specs:

Compressed Natural Gas Tank Capacity: Approximately 18.7 US Gallons Gasoline Equivalent(GGE) @3600 psi 70 degrees F (21 degrees C). Average CNG range approx 200-260 miles.  Exp. date 09/2016

·  This hard to find 2003 Dodge Ram 3500 Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) Cargo van.  Equipped with the reliable and powerful 5.2L V8 engine and automatic transmission.  This is a one owner fleet maintained former utility vehicle.  ONLY 65K Miles! BEWARE of people selling vehicles with untested/unfilled CNG systems.  CNG system functions.  This vehicle has been filled with CNG and test driven 30+ miles.  This vehicle is super economical to drive with CNG priced under $1.00 a gal in many areas.  State tax credit still available (Utah and other states that offer tax credits).

What is CNG???

Compressed Natural Gas or CNG, is one of nature's best untapped energy sources.  Unlike fossil fuels, it is constantly produced by the earth and can also me synthesized through chemical processes.  Cyber_lot. The technology has been around for decades but until recently has been kept in the closet by big oil!  It is one of the fastest growing alternative fuel sources and unlike biodiesel and ethanol (E85), is a viable replacement for petroleum.  Within the next 10 years 90% of gov't fleets will be CNG and civilian population will follow over the next 20 yrs.

Why should I buy a CNG/Bi Fuel Vehicle?

  • SAVE MONEY!  CNG is about 1/3 less than reguar unleaded and more stable in price.  AS LOW AS 99 CENTS PER GAL IN SOME AREAS!
  • CNG burns with practically no emissions compared to petroleum fuel so each mile you drive helps the environment....THINK GREEN
  • CNG is safer (less volatile) than gasoline as it has a higher ignition temp, 1200 deg vs 800 deg.
  • CNG poses little if any environment risk of contamination and in the event of an accident where tanks are breached, it evaporates into the air with no spill Cyber_lot
  • CNG fill stations are growing more and more each day.  Check the links below for fill station locations across the US.
  • You can fill up at home using a Phil Fuelmaker device if you have a natural gas line.  Cyber_lot No more trips to the gas station.  Tax deductible.
  • Most states allow you to drive solo in the HOV lane.
  • CNG is not corrosive like gasoline and wears MUCH easier on a motor.  Most CNG fueled engines require oil changes less frequently and sparkplugs last almost forever.  Overall engine life is usually significantly extended.  Cyber_lot
  • Unlike hybrid electric/gas cars, there are no costly batteries ($6000) to replace
  • Unlike hybrid electric vehicles, the CNG drivetrain is the same as the gasoline counterpart and can be serviced by most mechanics.  Cyber_lot.  Only the CNG fuel system requires specially trained service technicians.
  • There may be tax credits/deductions available for CNG vehicle owners and for the purchase of a Phil Fuelmaker (check with IRS and state tax authorities)
  • Be the first person in your town to sport a CNG ride.  Cyber_lot Almost always a conversation starter when you open the trunk!

Condition

Drivetrain

Engine starts up and runs strong.  Only 65k miles. NO knocks, NO smoke, NO dripping engine leaks.  Transmission shifts into and through all gears.  Has proper acceleration and cruises at highway speed.  The 5.2L  is one of the most durable and efficient 8cyl engines Dodge produced and should easily last 300K+ miles with proper maintenance.  This was a fleet maintained vehicle with regular servicing, including oil changes at proper intervals.

Exterior

Paint has most of its factory shine as you can see.  There are several areas where the paint is peeled or flaked off and has been touched up.  There are soft dents, dings, scrapes, scratches, and blemishes all over the body.  There are some soft dents on the right rear corner and a small rust patch on the rocker area beneath the driver door.  There are a few spots where the rocker area is dented in.  The bumpers have dents, most notably the rear one.  This was a work vehicle and has wear on the body.    Please keep in mind this is not a showroom new but in average condition for a work van.

Interior

Interior is in decent condition with average wear.  Seats are in good condition with no rip or tears, just some wear on the edge of the driver seat Interior is fresh and clean and has been professionally detailed.

Wheels and Tires

·  Tires have approx 50-60%+ tread remaining.

CNG System

I have fueled up with CNG and tanks properly hold pressureI noticed a very faint cng odor and it's most likely a loose connector on one of the lines or an 0-ring.  I'll try to take care of that before auction's end.  Doesn't affect running or driveability.

I have test driven this vehicle over 30 miles and it should have no problem going anywhere.  I have tried to describe the condition to the best of my ability but this is merely a guideline and repairs may be required.  I do recommend having this vehicle shipped due to the limited availability of CNG stations in some areas.  As I recommend to all my customers, you should have your mechanic look over any newly purchased vehicle before extensive use.  I have tried to list as many details about this vehicle as I can, including known defects.  There may be deficiencies that I am not aware of so buyers are encouraged to inspect in person.  This was previously a fleet/lease vehicle and may have greater wear and tear than private vehicles.  Vehicle is otherwise sold as-is and where is with no warranty express of implied.  If you are local I encourage and welcome you to come down and test drive the car for yourself or have an independent inspection completed PRIOR to bidding.  There will be no price adjustments or cancellation of sale for failure to do so.  I am happy to answer any questions so feel free to e-mail me or call.

·  Payment Details

A non-refundable deposit in the amount of $500.00 must be made via PayPal within 24 hrs of auction's close.  Balance to be paid within 3 days via certified/cashier's check from a verifiable institution, US postal money order (no other's will be accepted due to counterfeit MO's going around), or cash (in person only, DO NOT mail cash).  A document/prep fee of $150.00 will be added to the winning bid price.  If you require documents to be mailed please add $20 to final price for overnight service.  Item must be picked up within 10 days of auction's close unless you make other arrangements with me.  If not, buyer agrees to pay $20/day storage.  Sorry but I can not have vehicles sitting here for weeks or months.  IF DEPOSIT IS NOT RECEIVED WITHIN 24 HRS OR PAYMENT IS NOT RECEIVED WITHIN 3 DAYS, VEHICLE WILL BE RELISTED OR SOLD TO NEXT BIDDER.  Cyber_lot.

Shipping

Shipping is at the expense and responsibility of the winning bidder.  If you require shipping, I am happy to assist.  Shipping for vehicles is approximately $1000-1300 for west coast, $500-600 for southeast, $800-1000 for southwest, and $800-1000 for midwest.  These rates represent average prices for cars and may change with fuel costs.  Vehicle is located in Long Island, NY, 11713.  Cyber_lot.  If you wish to fly and drive, I can pick you up at the area airport (Long Island Macarthur, ISP) or the train station (LIRR-Ronkonkoma).

Legal Info

Please only bid if you have the funds available and intend to complete the transaction.  Ebay is a great place and you guys are wonderful but the occasional fraudulent bidder ruins it for everyone.  Non-paying bidders will be reported to eBay as well as the appropriate authorities as interfering in interstate commerce is a federal offense.  If you have negative feedback please contact me if you wish to bid or your bid(s) will be canceled.  By bidding, you agree to all the terms of this auction.  Item is sold as-is where-is with no warranty or guarantee.  If you are local, feel free to come and inspect the vehicle in person.  Cyber_lot.  I have tried to describe this item as best I can but I am not responsible for any incorrect information regarding specs, condition, undetected problems, etc.  I am happy to answer any and every question so please e-mail prior to bidding as all sales are final.  I reserve the right to end auction early as vehicle is for sale locally.

Autoblog's guilty pleasure cars

Tue, Mar 10 2015

Guilty pleasures are part of life – don't even try to pretend like you don't have one (or two, or six). In the non-automotive space, this could come down to that secret playlist in your iPhone of songs you'll only listen to when you're alone; or think of that one TV show you really do love, but won't admit to your friends. I've got plenty, and so do you. Going back to cars, here's a particularly juicy one for me: several years ago, I had a mad crush on the very last iteration of the Cadillac DTS. Oh yes, the front-wheel-drive, Northstar V8-powered sofa-on-wheels that was the last remaining shred of the elderly-swooning days of Cadillac's past. Every time I had the chance to drive one, I was secretly giddy. Don't hate me, okay? These days, the DTS is gone, but I've still got a mess of other cars that hold a special place in my heart. And in the spirit of camaraderie, I've asked my other Autoblog editors to tell me some of their guilty pleasure cars, as well – Seyth Miersma, as you can see above, has a few choice emotions to share about the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution. Read on to find out what cars make us secretly happy. Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG This decadent convertible is the epitome of the guilty pleasure. It's big, powerful, fairly heavy and it's richly appointed inside and out. It's a chocolate eclair with the three-pointed star on the hood. Given my druthers, I'd take the SL65 AMG, which delivers 621 horsepower and 738 pound-feet of torque. That output is borderline absurd for this laid-back convertible. I don't care. You don't need dessert. Sometimes you just crave it. The SL line is about the feel you get on the road. The roof is open. The air, sun and engine sounds all embrace you. It's the same dynamic you could have experienced in a Mercedes a century ago, yet the SL gives you the most modern of luxuries. An Airscarf feature that warms my neck and shoulders through a vent embedded in the seat? Yes, please. Sure, it's an old-guy car. Mr. Burns and Lord Grantham are probably too young and hip for an SL65. I don't care. This is my guilty pleasure. Release the hounds. – Greg Migliore Senior Editor Ford Flex I drove my first Flex in 2009 when my mother let me borrow hers for the summer while I was away at college. The incredibly spacious interior made moving twice that summer a breeze, and the 200-mile trips up north were quite comfortable.

Watch these Super Bowl car commercials [UPDATE]

Sat, Feb 2 2019

On Sunday, February 3, the New England Patriots take on the Los Angeles Rams in Super Bowl 53 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia. Some will watch because of the storyline of the old-school dynasty facing off against the new-school wunderkinds, but a large chunk of people will solely be watching for the commercials. Lucky for those who slot into the latter category, many of the manufacturers release their super bowl ads ahead of time, or have simply opted to release the commercials only online. Scroll down to see what car companies have already shown their cards. Audi Audi goes the comedic route in its clip for the Big Game. It starts with a grandpa showing his grandson a gorgeous Audi e-tron GT tucked away in a garage before he's shaken awake. Turns out he was just choking on a cashew in his cubicle at his boring job. Dodge Dodge does what it knows: create enough smoke to punch more holes in the ozone layer. Set to "The Devil Went Down to Georgia (the Super Bowl is in Atlanta, get it!?), a Challenger SRT Hellcat widebody, Charger SRT Hellcat, and Durango SRT are seen ripping through a city, leaving a trail of rubber crumbs in their wakes. Genesis Genesis has not yet released a commercial prior to the Super Bowl, but it is the official luxury vehicle of the NFL. Because of this, Genesis is hosting a fan experience for 10 days before the game. It will showcase the brand's cars, offer games, and have photos opportunities and autograph days. Hyundai Jason Bateman alert! Hyundai is one of the few companies to hook a major celebrity for its advertisement, and the casting is perfect. Bateman plays a doorman who takes people to various terrible events in life, including root canals, the middle seat, and shopping for a car. The ad centers around Hyundai's Shopper Assurance, which is Hyundai's new method for car shopping. Jeep An old 1963 Jeep Gladiator finds its strength in the crusher and transforms into a a new 2020 Gladiator, with a firm declaration that the nameplate is officially back. Kia Through Kia's commercial, a young boy wonders out loud what it'd be like if the millions spent on Super Bowl commercials were used to help others.
