Weekly Recap: Things you might not know about the 2015 Dodge Charger and Challenger Hellcats

Sat, 16 Aug 2014

If you're an enthusiast, and you don't know that Dodge spawned another Hellcat this week, you really must have been living in cave. The 2015 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat is probably the biggest news for enthusiasts since the reveal of, well the 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat.
But, there are some things you might not know or might have missed about the new Charger and Challenger Hellcats. For starters, reports that the Hellcat production would be limited to a low volume are not true.
"We have not capped the Hellcat on either the Challenger or the Charger," Dodge CEO Tim Kuniskis said.

2019 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat is getting a facelift

Tue, May 8 2018

The Challenger Hellcat won't be the only Mopar muscle car getting an update for the new model year. One of our spy photographers caught an updated 2019 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat testing near the SRT office. It appears that the car will continue on mostly unchanged, since everything behind the fenders is uncovered and unchanged. But the fascia must be getting some noteworthy changes considering how well it's hidden. And it's really, really well-hidden. It's extremely difficult to see through this covering. Whatever changes have been made still aren't going to be massive. It looks like the basics remain the same, including the large center grille in the bumper flanked by two outboard inlets that lack fog lights. The grille appears to still connect with the headlights, and the grille is pinched in the middle. Odds are, the front fascia is the only major difference on the 2019 Charger Hellcat, just as the twin-scoop hood on the Challenger Hellcat is the only major difference on that model. Under the hood will likely be the same 707-horsepower supercharged V8. This Charger prototype also sports the same Brembo brakes as the current model. The full reveal will probably come this summer along with the Challenger. Related Video: This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings. Dodge Grand Caravan, Journey no longer available in the California emissions states

Fri, Feb 28 2020

The Dodge Grand Caravan and the Dodge Journey are no longer available for sale in California or any of the states that follow its emissions standards (often referred to as the ZEV states). As reported by Allpar.com, the 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 in the Grand Caravan does not meet those emissions standards for 2020, and evidently neither does the 2.4-liter four-cylinder that is the sole engine offering in the Journey this year. The Pentastar V6 used in other Dodges, Chryslers and Jeeps is an updated unit that does not face the same emissions issues. The 2020 model year already was due to be the last for the Grand Caravan, which is being replaced in the lineup by a lower-priced and lower-spec version of the Chrysler Pacifica called the Chrysler Voyager. Production of the Grand Caravan at FCA's Windsor, Ontario factory is reportedly due to end in May. As for the Journey, that model has exceeded its sell-by date and is the oldest entrant in its class. The vehicle was introduced as a 2009 model, and not has seen major revisions in the 11 years since. For 2020, Dodge has cut the Journey model lineup to just two trim levels: SE Value and Crossroad (dropping the SE and the GT), and it's front-wheel drive only. But the Journey could continue — in some states at least — into the 2021 model year. Rumors of its replacement, with a sportier model based on the Alfa Romeo Stelvio, don't have it arriving until 2022 or so.
