It's difficult to see in the fender photo but there is a small non-displaced crack in the plastic fender that extends a couple of inches up and down from the front of the amber clearance light. These are the only "cosmetics" that would be beyond the few stone chips, surface scratches, door and cargo dings that you'd expect to find in a 12 year old "work" truck. The interior is in great shape except for the earlier mentioned split that was likely the result of sun/heat effects on the upholstery material. The right front hub cap also has a "scrape" from a high curb. Functionally, the only thing that doesn't work as built is the glove box light."

I have RETIRED! I have sold all my livestock, quit the mail route, going to let my kids haul their kids and their stuff to college or to their new job, etc and I'm left with one owner, never smoked in, HO Cummins Dually with only a little over 63000 original miles that's hardly suitable for me to drive to the post office and coffee shop each morning.  I bought the truck in Dec 2001 for pulling a big horse trailer and that's mostly what I used it for.  Most of the miles were accumulated on the highway between my place and some buyer, seller or trader and the horse business wasn't all that great so the truck was parked a good share of the past almost 12 years.

Unfortunately, not every horse lived on a highway and some of the grand kids moved to apartments that presented real challenges to get a truck and trailer into them and there was also that mail route thing. Used the Dodge only in emergencies when my Explorer was laid up so at this point in life the Dodge has a few scars that a prospective buyer might be interested in. There are a few rock chips in the paint on the hood, front fender(s) and tailgate, there's a scratch on the rear bumper where a trailer "jumped off" the ball at a railroad crossing (had the safety chains on but no lock pin in the hitch), no wreck but the bumper has a rusty stripe across it.  Several times over the years I managed to rub some trees or bushes  some of which left evidence of the contact and there a few "dings" from mail boxes and cargo that you can see if you get in the right light. The most obvious spot is the right rear plastic fender when I misjudged the toughness of a bush at the stoop of my grandson's apartment and ended up with 3 or 4 long scratches that are pretty noticeable as you approach. The others are a lot more subtle.

Functionally, the only thing I know that doesn't work is the glove box light. It's mounting (plastic and part of the molded dash) bracket broke and the light stayed on all the time and drained the battery eventually (post warranty of course). The dealer gave me a choice, $800 P&L for a new dash or take out the bulb. It's just not that dark. The only other defect I know about is a split seam (3 or 4") on the back of the back seat. Only can see it through the rear window. This is an UNMODIFIED truck, no chip, no exhaust changes, etc. Only non factory items added are the trailer brake controller and the turnover gooseneck in the bed.

KBB values this vehicle sold as a private seller between 21-23000 in Fair to Good condition but my RESERVE price is W.a.a.a Y under that That!  The successful buyer will need to forward a $500 cash deposit (Paypal is OK) within 48 hours as "earnest money". The truck is being sold F.O.B. at my residence in Cambridge KS and the balance of the purchase price is to be paid (cash or certified funds) when the Buyer or Shipper (Buyer has to arrange any 3rd party) comes to get the vehicle NLT 30 Sep 2013. Clear Title is in hand and will be executed and transferred upon payment. Email with any questions you questions or provide me a phone number and I will call you.

Chrysler extends fuel tank warranties on LX cars, NHTSA ends probe

Tue, 18 Feb 2014

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has ended its investigation of 153,817, 5.7-liter and 6.1-liter Hemi V8-powered 2006 Chrysler 300, Dodge Charger and Dodge Magnum models after reports of stalling. Chrysler has responded by granting a lifetime warranty on the fuel tanks for these vehicles.
NHTSA received 299 reports of engines stalling while the models were stopped or driving at low speeds, and began an investigation. The government agency found that the control valve shutoff float in the V8s' 19-gallon fuel tank could malfunction if the fuel had too high of an ethanol content. In many cases, the valve would break in the open position, allowing the tank to be overfilled, which would then cause the cars to stall. However, there were no accidents reported, and the vehicles could be restarted immediately.
There will not be a recall on these vehicles because, "the condition represents a low risk to motor vehicle safety and is adequately addressed by Chrysler's extended warranty," NHTSA said to The Detroit News.

Chrysler recalling 278,222 trucks and SUVs over bad rear axles

Thu, 14 Feb 2013

Chrysler has issued a recall of 278,222 light trucks and sport utility vehicles here in the United States. The reason: bad rear axles. Specifically, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the rear axle pinion nut may lack a necessary adhesive patch, which could cause the nut to loosen. If this happens, the axle can lock up, which could cause all sorts of havoc on the road.
This is an expansion of the rear axle recall announced in October of last year, where 44,300 Ram 1500 and Dodge Dakota models were being called in. At that time, 12 accidents had been reported due to the faulty axle pinion nut.
Affected vehicles include Ram 1500 trucks from the 2009 to 2012 model years, Dodge Dakota models from the 2009 to 2011 model years, and both the Chrysler Aspen and Dodge Durango SUV twins, both from the 2009 model year only.

Dodge Scat Packages add Mopar performance upgrades in three stages

Wed, 06 Nov 2013

Dodge has revealed what it calls Scat Package Stage Kits that enhance the performance of the Charger and the Challenger equipped with the 5.7-liter V8, and the Dart equipped with the turbocharged 2.4-liter inline four-cylinder engine. The Scat Packs use Mopar performance parts that also can be bought separately. Most of the upgrades increase engine output, but Dodge somehow manages to not specifically mention the power gains associated with each Scat Pack.
The three Scat Packs offered for the V8-powered cars focus on higher power ratings, and each stage comes complete with a unique engine-management calibration to optimize output. Stage one comes with a cold-air intake and a cat-back exhaust; stage two adds a performance camshaft; and stage three really gives you the goods, adding ported polished cylinder heads and performance headers.
For the Dart, the Scat Packs focus on engine, transmission, chassis and brake upgrades. Stage one will net you a cold-air intake, a short-throw shifter and slotted rotors with performance brake pads; stage two adds a cat-back exhaust system and an engine-management calibration to increase output by taking advantage of premium-octane gasoline; and stage three adds 13-inch vented brake discs up front clamped by four-piston calipers, suspension with adjustable springs and struts and performance front and rear antiroll bars.
