You are looking at one of the last true survivor, first generation, cummins powered, turbo charged work horses.  This is a very nice truck that has always been kept inside.  It has new brakes, rotors, and alignment on the front.  The body and interior are in great shape, especially for a 1992.  The headliner is like new.  All the power windows, door locks, power mirrors and cruise control work perfectly.  I have all the original owners manuals and service records.  This truck was bought new, at our local dealership in South Carolina.  It rides and drives great.  It has a 5 way(flat) and a 7 way(RV) plug with brake controller. It has a reese hitch for towing. There is not a crack in the dash and the glass is all very clear. Sliding rear window. You can tell that it has been kept under cover its entire life. It had a nice repaint about 4 years ago. (The old clear tends to peel on these year models)  It has all the original MOPAR cab/roof lights, with all the original lenses. We average over 16 mpg pulling and between 19-22 empty, consistently. The engine fires right up, hot or cold.  It has aluminum running boards and I have the matching bed rail caps (not installed).

You will not find a lower mileage first gen truck that is in better shape and that drives as well as this one.  If you do.......BUY IT!  These trucks are extremely rare and they do not come up for sale very often. This is a great truck and we get compliments on it everywhere we go. The paint is nice and shiny and the truck shows well.

This is a 21 year old truck and it does have a very few minor scratches (I mean MINOR) and there is a dent in the rear bumper.  It can probably be pushed out, but I have not tried. We have driven it all over and have never had a problem on the road.  You will not be dissappointed.  Come drive her home!

If you have any questions.  Please ASK BEFORE BIDDING.

There are no warranties, expressed or implied.  Bid to win, you will truly love this truck. Good Luck!!

Detroit's new fleet of donated police cars have safety issues [w/video]

Wed, 23 Oct 2013

In a show of generosity in mid-August, Detroit's business leaders donated $8 million to the Police Department and Fire Department in order to buy 100 new police vehicles and 23 EMS ambulances. But now officers have discovered - and complained - that the police vehicles have glaring safety issues, Deadline Detroit reports. It is not made clear what models of the fleet vehicles - which include police versions of the Ford Taurus, the Chevrolet Caprice and the Dodge Charger - are affected by the safety issues.
Officers reportedly have complained that the Plexiglass partition separating front-seat officers and back-seat prisoners is easily breached, and that the front passenger seat is installed too close to the dashboard. Prisoners who manage to writhe out of their handcuffs can bend the Plexiglass and reach into the cockpit, and sitting too close to the dashboard can render airbags more dangerous and make officers more vulnerable to injury in a crash.
Mark Diaz, president of the Detroit Police Officers Association, received the complaints and reportedly said the vehicles would get safety updates addressing the issues. But Deadline Detroit reports that it checked some of the offending police cars and, as of the last few days, they hadn't been updated.

Marchionne on Alfa's US return, Dodge Dart's powertrain weakness and minivan plans

Fri, 18 Jan 2013

As a reporter covering an auto show, the one opportunity you never want to miss is going to the Sergio Marchionne press briefing.
"This undertaking to bring Alfa back is a one-shot deal... We are not going to do this twice."
There just aren't that many real characters left in the auto industry. Marchionne, who sits atop both Chrysler and Fiat, is not only one of the smartest execs in the business, but also the most frank. Herein, a sample of the quotable always-sweatered executive:

Rare Dodge Daytona found in barn heads for auction

Tue, Dec 15 2015

An American icon is headed to Mecum's Kissimmee, Florida auction next January. Charlie Lyons, owner of a restoration shop focused on old Chrysler products, got a lead on a two-owner 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona that had been sitting in a barn in Glenwood, Alabama for decades. Dodge built 560 Charger Daytonas (Canada and US production) to homologate the model for NASCAR racing, and then that car and the successor Plymouth Superbird terrorized NASCAR tracks for 18 months. The production car, however, 18 feet long and considered ugly, wasn't popular at the time, so many were beat up or simply disappeared. Around 385 are thought to exist today. Lyons said the first owner of this car was the town judge, who bought it for his wife. In 1974 the second owner - just 18 years old at the time - bought it for $1,800 so he could drive it to Panama City, Florida, for Spring Break, and had flames painted on the front fenders and the scallops trimmed in white. Otherwise this barn find is complete and stock, with matching numbers throughout, R4 Charger Red paint and a white tail, bucket seats, center console, three-speed TorqueFlite automatic, and 20,553 miles on the 440-cubic-inch Magnum V8. Hot Rod has the long story of how Lyons found the car and convinced the owner to sell for what he jokingly called "a shoebox full of folded money." Hagerty says a concours-worthy model can command $262,000. Mecum's pre-sale estimate for this Charger Daytona is $150,000 to $180,000. That sounds steep, but Mecum did sell another perfectly restored Hemi-powered 1969 Charger Daytona for $900,000 at this year's Kissimmee auction to actor David Spade. Related Video:
