For Sale is my 2003 Dodge 2500 HO, 4 door, short bed, Cummins diesel truck.

SUSPENSION/WHEELS/TIRES: This truck is lifted 6" with a superlift kit, has dual steering stabalizers up front and procomp MX6 adjustable shocks on all the corners. Has 37x13.5x17" dick cepek tires that are in good condition and all wore very evenly (they are rotated and balanced every 5,000 miles). Wheels are 17" Moto Metal with new center caps. Trucks rides better then a stock one!!!

DRIVE TRAIN: Truck has the legandary cummings motor and will pull anything!! This motor has only 46,000 miles as it was replaced with a brand new crate long block from Dodge. The transmission just got rebuilt in July 2012 and still has 2+ years of warranty on it. The motor was replaced do to a flukey incident at the mechanics shop. I had taken the truck in to have the timing chain cover gasket replaced as it was slighty leaking, this was a $950+ repair to have done and was pricey because it involved taking the front half of the motor apart including lifting the lifters out of the way. When they put it all back together it was warming up in there shop when it locked up, the cause was later found to be a lifter had sheered off and punched through the block. The mechanic replaced it with a factory HO long block from dodge that had a 3 year 100,000 mile warranty. Really sucks for the mechanic but was my gain for sure. Truck runs like a brand new one. I have all receits and documentation for all work performed on this truck. Has had the injection pump replaced and had a FASS system added for the accelerator pump. Front end was just rebuilt and alligned. The truck has a Banks 6 gun tuner on it with K&N filter. Runs perfect, pulls anything, and gets great gas milage, and the motor isnt even broken in yet!!! Truck has had fluids changed every 5,000 miles using mobil 1 filter and Rotella oil, no leaks what so ever and is a mechanics dream as it is spotless underneath!!

INTERIOR: Power windows, locks, power front seat, heated mirrors, Infinity sound system. Interior is in great shape, no cracks in the dash, no haze in the gauges, no stains, rips or tears. One small hole about the size of a pencil eraser in the rear seat. Has a brand new windsheild that just got installed. All gauges were calibrated from Dodge to read correctly with the 37" tires.

EVERYTHING ELSE: The bed has a sprayed in bed liner. Paint is in good shape, there are chipps in the bottom quaters from the tires sticking out, A few minor door dings, drivers back door has a small flake in the paint where moisture has entered. Overall very nice looking!! Trucks odometer reads 178,000 but really the only thing with miles on it is the paint and it just got buffed as everything else has been redone over the years. I have a current auto report available as well, reads a perfect score , and has all emmisions test on it, never had a problem with emmisions. Thanks for looking!! This will make someone a great truck!! Feel free to call as well 719-650-5489. This truck is for sale locally as well, I have the right to end the auction at any time. Truck is sold as is with no warranty's other then the transmission wich will carry over to new owner.

A car writer's year in new vehicles [w/video]

Thu, Dec 18 2014

Christmas is only a week away. The New Year is just around the corner. As 2014 draws to a close, I'm not the only one taking stock of the year that's we're almost shut of. Depending on who you are or what you do, the end of the year can bring to mind tax bills, school semesters or scheduling dental appointments. For me, for the last eight or nine years, at least a small part of this transitory time is occupied with recalling the cars I've driven over the preceding 12 months. Since I started writing about and reviewing cars in 2006, I've done an uneven job of tracking every vehicle I've been in, each year. Last year I made a resolution to be better about it, and the result is a spreadsheet with model names, dates, notes and some basic facts and figures. Armed with this basic data and a yen for year-end stories, I figured it would be interesting to parse the figures and quantify my year in cars in a way I'd never done before. The results are, well, they're a little bizarre, honestly. And I think they'll affect how I approach this gig in 2015. {C} My tally for the year is 68 cars, as of this writing. Before the calendar flips to 2015 it'll be as high as 73. Let me give you a tiny bit of background about how automotive journalists typically get cars to test. There are basically two pools of vehicles I drive on a regular basis: media fleet vehicles and those available on "first drive" programs. The latter group is pretty self-explanatory. Journalists are gathered in one location (sometimes local, sometimes far-flung) with a new model(s), there's usually a day of driving, then we report back to you with our impressions. Media fleet vehicles are different. These are distributed to publications and individual journalists far and wide, and the test period goes from a few days to a week or more. Whereas first drives almost always result in a piece of review content, fleet loans only sometimes do. Other times they serve to give context about brands, segments, technology and the like, to editors and writers. So, adding up the loans I've had out of the press fleet and things I've driven at events, my tally for the year is 68 cars, as of this writing. Before the calendar flips to 2015, it'll be as high as 73. At one of the buff books like Car and Driver or Motor Trend, reviewers might rotate through five cars a week, or more. I know that number sounds high, but as best I can tell, it's pretty average for the full-time professionals in this business.

Weekly Recap: FCA hit with record fine as NHTSA crackdown continues

Sat, Aug 1 2015

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration slapped Fiat Chrysler Automobiles with a record fine this week that could reach $105 million. The punishment comes after NHTSA found problems with the automaker's execution of 23 recalls that affect more than 11 million vehicles. The consent agreement, announced Sunday, calls for FCA to pay a $70-million cash fine and requires the company to spend at least $20 million over a three-year period on industry outreach programs and to beef up old recall campaigns. Failure to comply will result in another $15-million fine. FCA also agreed to federal oversight, which includes an independent monitor to oversee the company's recalls. The $70-million cash fine equals a penalty NHTSA levied on Honda in January. "Fiat Chrysler's pattern of poor performance put millions of its customers and the driving public at risk," NHTSA administrator Mark Rosekind said in a statement. "This action will provide relief to owners of defective vehicles, will help improve recall performance throughout the auto industry, and gives Fiat Chrysler the opportunity to embrace a proactive safety culture." FCA called the deal a "consensual resolution," but admitted that it "failed to timely provide an effective remedy" during certain recalls. "We are intent on rebuilding our relationship with NHTSA and we embrace the role of public safety advocate," the company said in a statement. The announcement kicked off a busy week for the automaker. NHTSA agreed FCA did not need to recall 4.7 million vehicles after an investigation failed to find defects with a power module used in some Jeep, Dodge, and Ram vehicles. A Georgia judge also reduced a civil verdict involving a death in a Jeep Grand Cherokee crash. Amid all of that, the company reported net profit of about 333 million euros, or $364 million in the second quarter on Thursday. OTHER NEWS & NOTES FCA ramps up Hellcat production Despite a decidedly legal and financial week for FCA, there was still time for the performance side of the business to briefly grab the spotlight. The automaker is more than doubling its production of the Dodge Challenger and Charger SRT Hellcats in response to strong demand. The order bank opens the second week of August and production begins in September. FCA will finish up its scheduled 2015 model-year Hellcat builds, and cancel any "unscheduled" versions, though customers will get discounted pricing for 2016.

2014 Dodge Journey Crossroad

Thu, 17 Jul 2014

Watchers of the auto industry will notice a theme among the formerly bankrupted American automakers, General Motors and Chrysler. There are the post-bankruptcy vehicles, and the pre-bankruptcy vehicles. The former, in the case of Chrysler, include the Jeep Grand Cherokee, as well as the 200 and 300. For GM, there's the Cadillac ATS, Chevrolet Impala and Buick Encore, among others. These vehicles have the freshest styling, with sharp exteriors and well-crafted interiors, as well as advanced powertrains and well-sorted chassis.
As for the pre-bankruptcy vehicles, they tend to be easy to spot. Most suffer from inferior driving dynamics, cheaper interiors, poorer fuel economy and often homely looks (we know, there were some decent cars before the bankruptcy, but they were pretty heavily outweighed by the bad ones). Think late, last-generation Chevrolet Impala or Chrysler 200. Increasingly, though, we're seeing vehicles that split the balance between pre- and post-bankruptcy. Vehicles like the Dodge Journey.
The Journey debuted in 2007 as a 2008 model year vehicle, meaning it should fall into the latter category. But heavily breathed upon in 2011, it now enjoys a new, 3.6-liter Pentastar V6, a big, critically acclaimed touchscreen display and in the case of today's tester, a new-for-2014 Crossroad spec.
