Up for auction is one of the cleanest 2nd gen Cummins 6-speed manual trucks that you're going to find. It's loaded with all the best factory options like heated leather, wood grain accents, electric seats, electric tow mirrors with defrost, electric windows, audio controls on the wheel, cruise, 3:55 LSD, and the best part of it all is that it only has 86k miles.

The truck also has some very nice aftermarket mods, such as, aftermarket stereo with amp/subs, exhaust brake, brake controller, leveling kit, intake, straight pipe exhaust, spray in bed liner, camper top, rear differential cooler, and the list goes on and on. All mods were installed right to make for a nice clean sophisticated look. This is a classy truck not some tired farm truck that you see cut up and pieced together.

I've owned around a half dozen of these trucks and a few 12 valves, and this one is by far the best that I've seen in many years.
Dealers are currently asking close to 30 grand for these trucks in comparable condition.

The paint has an excellent shine with only a few imperfections. There are a few minor dents on the rear bumper, but all in all it's in excellent shape for a 14-15 year old truck. It's got fresh Mobil 1 synthetics, 4 new tires, a new aftermarket fuel pump, and a new serpentine belt all installed in the last thousand miles. This has always been a southern truck and there are no signs of rust anywhere that I can find, and it's never had a hitch in the bed. The only problem that I can think of is a minor grind when shifting to 6th gear quickly. I shift like a grandpa, and it never grinds when I shift. this is a known problem with the NV5600 and it's due to the crappy syncrhos they used for 6th gear. Some forums report that the problem can be corrected with an overfill of tranny fluid like Royal Purple or similar.

Feel free to fly into GSP airport and drive this baby home. She's ready to go across country, and I'll gladly pick you up at the airport or hold it for your shipping company.
I've tried to be completely honest with my description, but I could have forgot a few details. Don't hesitate to shoot me a text, call or email if you have questions. Wade 864-266-9O93.

Rare Dodge Shelby Dakota is a very '80s sport truck

Fri, Jun 3 2016

The late-great Carroll Shelby built an incredibly successful career of making all sorts of cars faster, more often than not, with a bigger or more potent engine under the hood. The icons are well known—legends like the Shelby Cobra, GT350 Mustang, and the big GT500. But by the 1980s, Shelby was plying his trade over at Chrysler, at the behest of chairman Lee Iacocca, churning out special editions like the Dodge Shelby Charger, zippy CSX, rorty GLHS, and this—the 1989 Shelby Dakota muscle truck. 1,500 of these racy pickups were built for just one year and a whole two-and-a-half decades later they still turn heads. This one especially. The spotless pickup recently turned up for sale online , and its odometer reads a claimed 25,307 miles. So what makes these rarified work trucks special? As with most Shelbys, it starts under the hood. Up until 1989, the standard Dodge Dakota pickups were offered in only four-cylinder and V6 variants. But Dodge (and Shelby) wanted more, so the larger 5.2-liter Magnum V8 from Dodge's full-size pickup was shoehorned into the midsize Dakota, albeit not effortlessly. To fit, Dodge had to swap the V8's belt-driven fan for an electric unit mounted in front of the radiator. That did the trick, as well as earned the V8 a few extra ponies, pushing the special Dakota up to 175 horsepower and 270 lb.-ft. of torque. That performance may sound paltry by today's standards, but in 1989 it was seen as quite sporty, and netted a zero to 60 mph dash in 8.5 seconds. A four-speed automatic with lockup torque converter transmitted that power to the rear wheels. Additional Shelby performance goodies included a limited-slip differential, transmission cooler, along with a host of eye-catching body mods, including a unique air dam and bumpers, Shelby floor mats, monogramed seats and door panels, a "CS" steering wheel, 15-spoke hollow alloy wheels, and shouty body graphics. While the Shelby Dakota didn't return for 1990, its V8 legacy did continue, and in 1991 the 5.2-liter eight-cylinder became an option on new Dakotas. Of the 1,500 Shelby Dakota pickups built, 860 were dressed in red while a rarer 640 came adorned in Bright White. This '89 is said to be #245 of those white trucks, sold new to its original (and sole) owner in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, for $15,985 (the Shelby package cost $3,933 in its day). Currently, it's demanding bids north of $10,000 for its low-mileage originality. Related Video: This content is hosted by a third party.

Dodge to reveal Hellcat-powered Challenger in Detroit?

Fri, 10 Jan 2014

On top of all the other performance car debuts slated for next week's Detroit Auto Show, we might be able to add one more to the list - the new, supercharged Hellcat V8 from Chrysler. According to new reports, the rumored 640-horsepower mill is likely to cross the Motor City stage in the engine bay of a Dodge Challenger.
As AllPar points out, though, there may be more news than just the fire-breathing engine. While we've seen spy photos of the Hellcat testing under the hood of the current Challenger, there's a very fair chance that it won't arrive until the muscle car is refreshed later this year. The question now is whether that refresh will be shown off alongside the new engine in Detroit, or if it'll be saved, perhaps for the New York Auto Show.
Other details dug up by AllPar include potential transmissions for the supercharged engine - the Mopar-minded site is expecting an eight-speed automatic or a Tremec six-speed manual. Prices, meanwhile, could be in the same elevated range as the Chevrolet Camaro Z/28, at $70,000 to $80,000.

Dodge Viper GTS-R goes back to old-school livery

Fri, 20 Jun 2014

The Dodge Viper may have been around now for over 20 years, but as far as racing achievements go, 2000 was its finest season. That's when it won the Rolex 24 at Daytona, the GTS class trophy at the 24 Hours of Le Mans and its second consecutive title in the American Le Mans Series.
Since then, SRT Motorsports hasn't quite had the same success, withdrawing from Le Mans this year and shedding the Dodge name and its emblematic red and white livery for the SRT badge and a silver snakeskin theme. But now that the Viper is back under the Dodge banner, so too is the racing team returning to its classic livery.
Starting from the six-hour race at Watkins Glen next week, both the No. 91 and No. 93 Viper GTS-Rs will wear the red base color with twin white racing stripes that its more accomplished forebears wore on circuits around the world. And with it, maybe the Viper will return once again to the winner's circle at home and abroad.
