2017 Dodge Durango GT Brass Monkey: A funky winter drive

The 2017 Dodge Durango is one of our favorite sport utility vehicles. It has power and style and it stands out in a segment that is filled with vanilla-flavored people haulers. We recently had a Durango GT outfitted in Brass Monkey trim – highlighted by its 20-inch burnished bronze aluminum wheels - and took to the back roads of Michigan for an extended drive. The snow was flying. The temperatures dropped. It was muddy. The unpaved roads, pocked and rutted, were jarring, even though the forested setting was serene. The Dodge Demon is coming, an evil mutation of the Challenger SRT Hellcat

If there's one thing we'll take more of, it's Hellcat. Dodge's 707-horsepower supercharged V8 is a shining star of muscle car ideals. A panacea to the cylinder-count and displacement atrophy. And according to Dodge's new website, www.ifyouknowyouknow.com, a even crazier version of the Challenger SRT Hellcat is on the way. It's called the Dodge Demon. The website features a series of videos that reveal more and more details of the upcoming car. As of this writing, only the first teaser is available, title cage (and also seen above). The final video, and full reveal, of the car, coincides with the dates for the 2017 New York Auto Show. Details are scant at this point. The video, and the press release statement from FCA passenger car chief Tim Kuniskis, point to quarter-mile performance as the Demon's sole purpose in life. Said Kuniskis, "The Dodge Challenger SRT Demon is conceived, designed and engineered for a subculture of enthusiasts who know that a tenth is a car and a half second is your reputation." Woodward Dream Cruise Photo Gallery | Classics and American muscle

The 2022 running of the Woodward Dream Cruise just went down, and we were there from morning to evening drinking in the sweet sights and pre-emissions exhaust fumes. Yes, it’s a little smelly on Woodward Ave. this time of year. Just like always, the Dream Cruise invites all comers to cruise their machines on Woodward from Ferndale, MI to Pontiac, MI. Everybody is invited, but the original intent of the Dream Cruise was to highlight classic American muscle cars. YouÂ’ll see plenty of those in our mega gallery above, but weÂ’ve sprinkled it with a bunch of other vehicle types, such as modern muscle and other intriguing American vehicles. Similar to years past, though, sometimes the classics arenÂ’t the most entertaining thing to look at on Woodward. ThatÂ’s why weÂ’ll have other mega galleries coming soon, highlighting the weird cars and (great) dogs of the Cruise, all the imports and exotics you can imagine and a special one for all the trucks of Woodward — perhaps even more so than in years past, the truck population on Dream Cruise day was quite high.
