I've had it as high as 23mpg and as low as 15 pulling a heavy trailer. It all depends how you drive and how windy it is really when pulling a heavy trailer. -Professionally coated nurf bars to prevent rust. They are completely sealed so no moisture can get in and rust them out. -LED Cab running lights installed - I installed them correctly using silicon to keep water from entering the holes and rusting out the roof. The truck runs great and has no oil consumption or leaking issues. I have been using Amsoil 5W-40 and its been working great. I just changed the air and fuel filters, and the oil was changed about 6 months ago, and is good for one year or 25,000 miles, which ever comes first. I've only put about 6,000 miles on the oil since I changed it. I replaced the front brake calipers and installed new brake pads on the front when do so about 10 months ago. The tires are about 50% and actually do quite well in the snow. I replaced the transfer case U-joints with real OEM parts from Mopar. They were quite expensive, but they have an excellent life and quality to them compared to the aftermarket junk. Overall, the truck is in great shape! Here are the issues that the truck does have: -The front drivers fog light broke because a rock hit it, and needs to be replaced - Approx 150 for assembly. -The drivers side seat has a small hole in it from getting in and out and the padding on the side is flat. -There are a few small spots of rust in the front fender wells and bottom of the tailgate that can be easily touched up with quality paint, not that cheap spray on stuff from the auto parts store. I've tried that and it's too thin and just gets sand blasted from the tires. -The passenger rear door needs to have the wiring harness replaced so the lock and speaker will work. The window still does though. It was this way when I purchased it a few years ago. It failed where the door hinges, and the wires broke internally -The light for the 4-wheel drive doesn't light up when engaged - I think its the switch on the transfer case that needs to be adjusted because it started to flicker when engaged then just stopped working. -The tranny is starting to slip a little. It was fine until I installed the Diablo Sport Tune Program and got heavy footed! There a lot of power coming out of that engine after the tune is installed!! - The exhaust pipe does have a small hole in the side of it before the muffler. It doesn't bother anything. I've planned on just running a straight pipe all the way back as some point anyhow. Well, that should be everything that is wrong with it! If I forgot something, I will be sure to add it here. I am selling the truck because I am unemployed and am having to sell my things to pay my bills right now. I do not believe in accepting hand outs from the govt to keep me afloat, so I am selling what few possessions I do have to keep paying my other loans. Feel free to contact me at 2 one 8 two five nine 6 four 37 if you have any questions or would like to come take a look. Thanks for looking! |

Say goodbye to the Dodge Dart and Chrysler 200
Wed, Jan 27 2016Fiat-Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne outlined an update to the company's five-year business plan Wednesday, and among the changes, the Dodge Dart and Chrysler 200 sedans will soon be phased out. The company's presentation to investors states that the "market shift from cars to trucks and UVs [utility vehicles is] now seen as permanent shift in demand," and FCA wants to respond as quickly as possible. Killing the 200 and Dart will allow FCA to build more Jeep and Ram models at the Sterling Heights, MI, and Belvidere, IL, plants where the sedans were produced. We already knew FCA was planning to shift 200 and Dart production to Mexico, to free up the Sterling Heights facility for Ram 1500 production, and the Belivdere site for Jeep Cherokee output. The Cherokee will move from its current home in Toledo, OH, to allow for increased Wrangler production. It's no shock that FCA wants to shift its focus to crossovers and trucks. In December 2015, for example, combined sales of the Dodge Dart and Chrysler 200 were 15,310. The Jeep Cherokee, which uses the same platform as the Dart and 200, outsold both models combined, with 24,049 sales. Both the Dart and 200 had troubles from the beginning. Marchionne recently blamed designers for the 200 not receiving a Consumer Reports 'recommended' rating, and the Dart was one of the lowest-scoring cars in a CR reliability study. Chrysler Recalls Over 566,000 Trucks, SUVs
Wed, Oct 29 2014Fiat Chrysler is recalling more than 566,000 trucks and SUVs in two recalls for malfunctioning fuel heaters that can cause fires and a software glitch can disable the electronic stability control. The recalls bring the newly merged company's total for the year to 6.4 million vehicles worldwide and 5.1 million in the U.S. as it continues to struggle with reliability problems. It was not immediately clear whether those totals were annual records. On Tuesday, its longtime quality chief abruptly left after Fiat Chrysler performed poorly in Consumer Reports magazine's annual reliability rankings. The largest of two recalls announced Wednesday covers almost 382,000 Ram 2500 and 3500 pickups and Ram 4500 and 5500 chassis cabs from 2010 through 2014. In trucks with 6.7-Liter Cummins diesel engines, corrosion on a fuel heater terminal could cause overheating, fuel leaks and fires. Chrysler is not aware of any fires or injuries. Owners could be warned by an odor of diesel fuel. Customers will be notified by letters starting in December. Dealers will install upgraded terminals and fuel heater housings could be replaced. The second recall covers more than 184,000 Jeep Grand Cherokee and Dodge Durango SUVs from 2014. A debris cover over a circuit board in the steering column control module can disrupt communications and disable the stability control. The problem was discovered when dealers started getting reports from customers that electronic stability control warning lights were coming on. Fiat Chrysler says it knows of no crashes or injuries caused by the problem. Technicians will upgrade software to fix the SUVs, and customers will be notified in December. Fiat Chrysler has issued 33 global recalls and 27 in the U.S. so far this year. Doug Betts, its longtime quality chief, left the company to pursue other options after Consumer Reports' survey-based rankings this year showed four FiatChrysler brands at the bottom of its list. Dodge, Ram, Jeep and Fiat performed worst of 28 brands ranked by the magazine. Company spokesman Eric Mayne said Fiat Chrysler's recalls average fewer than 200,000 vehicles each, below the industry average of 301,000. That means the company is responding quickly to problems, he said, adding that eight of its 27 U.S. recalls were announced before the company received any consumer complaints. Chrysler is not alone with a high number of recalls so far this year.
Are supercars becoming less special?
Thu, Sep 3 2015There's little doubt that we are currently enjoying the golden age of automotive performance. Dozens of different models on sale today make over 500 horsepower, and seven boast output in excess of 700 hp. Not long ago, that kind of capability was exclusive to supercars – vehicles whose rarity, performance focus, and requisite expense made them aspirational objects of desire to us mortals. But more than that, supercars have historically offered a unique driving experience, one which was bespoke to a particular model and could not be replicated elsewhere. But in recent years, even the low-volume players have been forced to find the efficiencies and economies of scale that formerly hadn't been a concern for them, and in turn the concept of the supercar as a unique entity unto itself is fading fast. The blame doesn't fall on one particular manufacturer nor a specific production technique. Instead, it's a confluence of different factors that are chipping away at the distinction of these vehicles. It's not all bad news – Lamborghini's platform sharing with Audi for the Gallardo and the R8 yielded a raging bull that was more reliable and easier to live with on a day-to-day basis, and as a result it went on to become the best-selling Lambo in the company's history. But it also came at the cost of some of the Italian's exclusivity when eerily familiar sights and sounds suddenly became available wearing an Audi badge. Even low-volume players have been forced to find economies of scale. Much of this comes out of necessity, of course. Aston Martin's recent deal with Mercedes-AMG points toward German hardware going under the hood and into the cabin of the upcoming DB11, and it's safe to assume that this was not a decision made lightly by the Brits, as the brand has built a reputation for the bespoke craftsmanship of its vehicles. There's little doubt that the DB11 will be a fine automobile, but the move does jeopardize some of the characteristic "specialness" that Astons are known for. Yet the world is certainly better off with new Aston Martins spliced with DNA from Mercedes-AMG rather than no new Astons at all, and the costs of developing cutting-edge drivetrains and user interfaces is a burden that's becoming increasingly difficult for smaller manufacturers to bear. Even Ferrari is poised to make some dramatic changes in the way it designs cars.
