Very nice 1992 Dodge Diesel 4X4 Club Cab LE with low miles, 111,525 miles, 2 owner truck. Tight steering, goes straight and stops straight and well. Great freeway truck with 354 gears. Bullet proof 12 valve Cummins Diesel. Everything works cruise control, AC blows cold & heater blows hot, power windows, power door locks, wipers, all gauges, lights, turn signals and radio although radio display doesn't. Lighter works but  I don't think truck has ever been smoked in. Grill has a crack in it. Rock solid body, bed and frame. Surface rust on frame but no scale, frame will clean up great.

History: Bought new at Auburn Dodge in Washington State. Was bought to use as a business truck John had a business repairing outboard motors. He put a plastic bed liner and a metal rack in bed that was on rollers and put a canopy on it. Truck has a receiver hitch but wasn't wired for a 7 pin hookup, so truck was never user for hauling. About  10 years ago John repainted tuck in original color Black. Paint has a few small dings, paint chips, a run or two and scratches, nothing serious, far from perfect but looks very nice. It has one small dent at the rear base of the cab on passenger side. In December of 2012 I bought the truck from his estate, truck had been sitting under cover with a bad transmission for 7 years. Truck seemed to run good so I had it towed home. Had the 4 speed automatic rebuilt, had a low stall converter added to rebuild. Then found that driving truck it had other problems, The brake pedal was low and it pulled to the left. New power booster and both front calipers & pads fixed that. I saw that the exhaust housing had been replaced with a smaller unit and turbo also was changed plus a new injection pump. Family had no details on these things. Next the truck was low on power, John should have stayed with outboard motor repair not diesel repair. After two trips to the Power Shop in Enumclaw Washington the truck runs excellent. Two preventive things I had done while truck was there is fix the killer dowel pin and had valves adjusted. I then removed canopy and metal rack. The plastic bed liner had rubbed the paint off of the bed in numerous places. Next stop Lyntrux Plus for a spray in bed liner. Turned out excellent. I added diamond plate rail caps, new wheel well mud flaps and bug deflector. The seat was stained and worn in spots so I had seat redone in stock Dodge material. I have receipts for most of this except the brake work.

Receipts: Transmission rebuild, $3,165 with 3 year  warranty
               Motor work                 $3,690
               Spray in Bed liner
$535
               Front seat                     $600
It totals out at a little more then $8,300 when the brake work is included.

Conclusion: An excellent running, driving truck goes and stops straight, great looking and powerful truck.  Had one guy follow me to the store to talk about the truck. Body, bed, frame are all rust free and solid.  Frame has surface rust, no scale. Tires are near new Michelin. Interior seat, door panels, dash and rugs are near excellent. Needs a new head liner. Glass is all good, although original windshield has 2 bulls eyes, one down low in the middle and one high right on passenger side.  No leaks from underside of truck. Need more pictures, can only send 5 picture through ebay, will need address to send more. Well help in getting truck to shipper or fly in and drive home.

2023 Grand National Roadster Show Mega Photo Gallery | Hot rod heaven

Wed, Feb 8 2023

POMONA, Calif. — From an outsider's perspective, it would be easy to assume that the Grand National Roadster Show has always been a Southern California institution. After all, it celebrates the diverse postwar car culture of the region — hot rods, lead sleds, lowriders, and more. However, the show had its roots in NorCal in 1950 when Al Slonaker and his hot rod club showed their custom cars at the Oakland Expo. The GNRS moved to Pomona, California, in 2004. By then it had grown exponentially and seen about a dozen more car customization trends come and go. However, the show and its centerpiece award, the America's Most Beautiful Roadster prize, celebrate what is perhaps the first of those trends: the American hot rod in its purest form. Today, in its 73rd year, the GNRS is the oldest indoor car show in America. Annually it welcomes 500-800 cars, gathered into special themes like Tri-Five Chevys or Volkswagen Bugs. At this year's show, which was last weekend, a special hall was dedicated to pickup trucks built between 1948-98, including mini-trucks, groovy camper bed conversions, and resto-mods.  However, of all the vehicles presented, only nine are eligible for the America's Most Beautiful Roadster award. Winners get their names engraved on a 9-foot-tall perpetual trophy that was, according to The Ultimate Hot Rod Dictionary, the largest in the world when it debuted in 1950. Slonaker chose the word "roadster" initially because "hot rod" bore slightly negative outlaw connotations in 1950. Only American cars built before 1937 of certain body styles — roadsters, roadster pickups, phaetons, touring cars — are eligible, and they cannot have roll-down side windows.  Cars in the running for the cup cannot have been shown anywhere else before their debut at the GNRS.  Contestants for this accolade essentially build their cars to the a platonic ideal of a hot rod. This year the honors went to Jack Chisenhall of San Antonio, Texas, for his "Champ Deuce," a 1932 Ford Roadster. It's exactly what you picture when you think of a hot rod, but distilled to its absolute essence.  Other standouts included "Green Eyes," a two-tone green 1959 Chevy El Camino  with a heavily metal-flaked bed, "Blue Monday," a 1964 Buick Riviera lowrider, and a personal favorite, "Purple Reign," a purple and black 1951 Mercury. Cars may have started out as tools, but there aren't shows like this filled with custom refrigerators.

Chrysler to accelerate production of 2013 Ram and V6 engines

Fri, 16 Nov 2012

Chrysler is adding a third shift at its Warren Truck plant to meet demand for the new 2013 Ram pickup. And with tight supplies of its Pentastar V6, the company is also boosting output at its Mack Engine plant.
The expansions will add 1,250 jobs and are part of a $238 million investment by Chrysler in the Detroit area. Warren's third shift will begin work sometime in the spring, a Chrysler rep told Automotive News. Mack's increased Pentastar production a could include both 3.6 and 3.2-liter engines.
The company says it also plans to invest $40 million in its Trenton Engine plant to allow for production of a 3.2-liter V6 as well as the Tigershark inline-four for the upcoming Jeep Liberty replacement.

2015 Dodge Charger Pursuit prepares to keep Hellcats in line

Wed, 13 Aug 2014

Earlier today, Dodge pulled the wraps off its 2015 Charger SRT Hellcat - a 707-horsepower sedan capable of sprinting to 60 miles per hour in 3.7 seconds and reaching a top speed of 204 mph. Naturally, the car debuted in a bright shade of pull-me-over red, so it was fitting, then, that Dodge also brought its newly updated 2015 Charger Pursuit to keep everything under control.
No, cops won't be able to spec their Charger cruisers with the 707-hp Hellcat engine (oh man, imagine the chase scenes...), but law enforcement officials will be able to choose from either a 3.6-liter V6 or 5.7-liter Hemi V8, producing 292 hp and 370 hp, respectively. V8 models can be ordered with all-wheel drive, and Dodge estimates that with either engine, the Charger Pursuit can achieve up to 26 miles per gallon on the highway (thanks to the V8's four-cylinder mode).
Other updates for 2015 include improved braking power, a seven-inch display in the instrument cluster, a five-inch display in the center stack, and a new vehicle systems interface that could make it easier for police squads to install computer and radio equipment.
