This truck is in excellent condition, runs perfectly and has low mileage. I bought it brand new from  the Dodge dealer at Serramonte, Colma , CA . I intended to use it for work but loved it so much I bought another truck for work and kept this one for personal use. Now I can't afford both trucks so this one is for sale. I put a lumber rack on it but it never got much use. If you don't want the rack I will be happy to remove it for you, I realize most folks don't have much use for them but I left it on just in case. You will see by the condition of the vehicle that it was not used as a work truck. It has never had mechanical problems and has been serviced at Dodge dealerships. There is one small ding/dent on the hood which is not very noticeable ( see pictures ) and a couple of small scratches here and there. Overall it looks and drives great and has the feel of a luxury vehicle. I have owned it since brand new and have taken very good care of it. The interior is in perfect condition and the cab is extremely comfortable and roomy. It is loaded with little gizmos like the overhead console with compass readout , temp , tripometer, gas remaining in tank/projected distance etc. There are two stacked storage compartments between the front seats which are great for maps , GPS or other gear,The back seat is not cramped like a lot of so called extended cabs but is very spacious. There's a fold down divider with cup holders/ arm rest. When I have people back there they can't believe how much room they have. I have driven this truck to Yosemite a few times and it is extremely comfortable and its nice to have the safety and power that a vehicle like this provides along with the four wheel drive for potentially trick situations, snow etc.

Basically this is a very well maintained truck in excellent condition with low mileage. It has never been hit or crashed and runs perfectly. If I could afford to keep it I would. Living in San Francisco its bad enough trying to get parking for one vehicle, let alone two vehicles and they being two pick up trucks makes it all the harder. So if you want a truck like this, then this is a good opportunity.  I'm Finian Norris and I have approved this message.

1979 Dodge Li'l Red Express in Generation Gap showdown with 1933 Ford Pickup

Fri, 18 Jul 2014

Auto enthusiasts love a good debate, whether it's Mustang versus Camaro or Ferrari against Lamborghini. But how about a battle between two very different vintages of classic pickup trucks? In this case, the fight is between a 1979 Dodge Li'l Red Express and a 1933 Ford Model 46 truck with a flathead V8.
The shootout comes courtesy of the internet series Generation Gap, and its concept is super-simple. One guy prefers classics, and the other likes newer rides. They choose a category, pick two vehicles and put them head to head. In this case, neither is exactly modern, though. The Ford is more than old enough to receive Social Security checks, and the Dodge is hardly a young whippersnapper.
Other than both being pickups, these two models were made to serve very different functions. The Li'l Red Express was basically the progenitor of today's muscle trucks, with a big V8 that made it one of the quickest new models in its day (admittedly, 1979 was a rough time for automotive performance). On the other hand, the '33 Ford was just meant to work, with little pretense for anything else. One of the hosts describes it as "the simplest, most difficult" vehicle he's driven because of the tricky double clutchwork necessary to shift gears. Scroll down to watch the video and try to decide which of these two American classics you would rather have in your garage.

Dodge muscle cars, armored Jeep to star in Furious 7 [w/video]

Wed, Mar 11 2015

We're less than a month away from the smorgasbord of speed, stunts and shooting that is Furious 7, and it arrives in theaters on April 3 as one of the first big films of the year. Starring Fast and Furious regulars Vin Diesel, Paul Walker and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, plus Jason Statham as the big villain, this entry looks to be another exciting addition to the franchise. With such a major movie that features cars as much as the actors, it shouldn't be a surprise that an automaker is getting in on the action as a promotional partner. FCA US supplied nearly 30 vehicles for the film, including prominent roles for a 2015 Dodge Charger, Challenger R/T and armored Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. To really play up the connection, the automaker has laid out a global advertising campaign featuring its models. The marketing includes a variety of unique spots with the cars appearing online and in music videos. Among them in the US is a TV ad called Flash to the Future (embedded below) for the Challenger. Hopefully, Furious 7 can live up to all its pre-release hype. This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings.
