This is a 1978 Dodge Adventurer Club Cab. It has the High Output 440 V8 with 4 barrel carb, P711 automatic transmission and air conditioning. The adventurer was the top of the line from Dodge and had wood grain dash accents, carpeted lower doors, full complement of gauges including a tach (which works intermittently) and a pair of childs jump seats behind the front seat. The speedo shows 63K but I am unsure what the mileage is as it exceeds the speedometer capability. This truck is a beast with tons of low end torque and when purchased 7 years ago was going to be used for hunting etc. but it didn't pass smog and was decided to wait for the 30 year exemption that was nixed by Gov Arnold Schwartzenegger thus becoming a ranch errand runner hauling guys and parts to and from the field on dirt farm roads. If purchased and you are planning on smogging it, it may need a new catalytic as well as a new carb and that should be it all emissions were left in tact. If you live in a state not that doesn't smog or this truck is too old to smog, your good to go. The truck has power steering though there is a small leak on the ps pump. It has a three inch lift done by previous owner and older BFG All Terrain tires, with tread left but may be good to change out. The four wheel drive works great and has a locking pair of front hubs on the front axle. It has dual tanks and a 300 mile range. The body doen't appear to have ever been wrecked but has little bumps and scratches here and there as well as the two stage paint is loosing its clear coat in patches as shown in a couple of pictures.. The rear shell is missing the lift gate as it was when I bought it. There doesn't appear to be any rust in the floors, rockers or lower doors as is prevailant on so many old dodge trucks. It has an extra grille and front bumper as well as a heater box to replace those dinged up parts is so desired. The drivers window regulator needs help up and down and the turn signal switch works but needs help as well. I do not know if the cruise control works. Overall a solid truck and a good runner. 2015 Dodge Challenger R/T Scat Pack

Fri, 24 Oct 2014

We all knew That Kid. As a freshman, he was a big kid, overweight but surprisingly strong. Still, he was often picked on for his size. Then, he chatted with the football coach, who convinced him that his true calling was on the team's offensive line. After a season on the freshman squad and a summer of two-a-days, this mild-mannered, husky high schooler returned for his sophomore year as a big, imposing, solid piece of muscle. Needless to say, the same bullies that picked on him were praying he'd forgotten about them as a 10th grader.
That's the V8-powered 2015 Dodge Challenger. It arrived on the scene with a max of 425 horsepower and a bit of a weight problem. It completed its proverbial freshman year with a nice 2011 refresh, where the SRT8 was bumped up to 470 hp, but it still had some work to do.
Enter 2015, and fresh off three months of constant burpees and wind sprints, the newest Challenger is as big and powerful as it's ever been, but it's now got poise and potential, and my goodness, it's fun in a way that Dodge's muscle car has never been.

Legacy Classic Power Wagon First Drive

Wed, Oct 7 2015

Shortly before the US entered World War II, Dodge supplied the military with a line of pickups internally codenamed WC, those letters designating the year 1941 and the half-ton payload rating. From 1941 to 1945 Dodge built more than a quarter million of them, and even though "WC" came to refer to the Weapons Carrier body style, the WC range served in 38 different configurations from pickup trucks to ambulances to six-wheeled personnel and weapons haulers. The story is that soldiers returning from active duty badgered Dodge for a civilian version of that indefatigable warhorse, so Dodge responded with the Power Wagon in 1946. Even for those no-nonsense times the truck was so austere that the first three names Dodge gave it were "Farm Utility Truck," "WDX General Purpose Truck," and "General Purpose, One Ton Truck." "Power Wagon" was the fourth choice, not finalized until just before it went on sale. Nothing like today's Power Wagon, the original could be seen as either a glorified tractor or a slightly less uncouth military vehicle – hell-for-leather meant going 50 miles per hour. But it would go nearly anywhere. The civilian version was still built like it had to survive, well, a world war; power take-offs (PTOs) ran all manner of ancillaries; multiplicative gear ratios helped it produce enough torque to make an earthquake envious. Said to be the first civilian 4x4 truck made in America, any organization that needed a simple, sturdy mechanized draught animal knew it needed a Power Wagon. The Jackson Hole, WY, restorer retains every ounce of the Power Wagon's orchard-work aptitude, decorated with present-day amenities and the best components. Each job starts with having to find a usable donor. The city of Breckenridge, CO, bought the red truck in our gallery in 1947 and used it as a snowplow for the next 30 years. In 1977 a log-home builder bought it from the city and used it for another decade as a company hauler. That's the kind of grueling longevity that lets Ram put a five-figure premium on the 2500 Power Wagon pickup it sells today. Legacy Classics founder Winslow S.

Thieves still love older Hondas and pickups most, says NICB [w/video]

Wed, 20 Aug 2014

No one wants to have their car stolen, but a new study by the National Insurance Crime Bureau has some bad news for older Honda owners and pickup drivers. Fortunately, it has better news for drivers overall. The group is reporting that according to preliminary data from the Federal Bureau of Investigation, thefts were down 3.2 percent in 2013 (versus 2012) to fewer than 700,000 cars. That's the lowest figure since 1967. That's also less than half of the peak of over 1.66 million thefts in 1991. "The drop in thefts is good news for all of us," says NICB President and CEO Joe Wehrle. "But it still amounts to a vehicle being stolen every 45 seconds and losses of over $4 billion a year."
Honda drivers might not find it such good news with older Accord and Civic models topping this year's theft study. Toyota and Dodge can't really celebrate, either, with two models each on the list, as well. Overall, this year's list was split evenly between foreign and domestic models, which were mostly pickups.
The 10 most likely vehicles to be stolen in 2013 were:
