  • Description:
  • 8 ft bed you say? yes, the original owner ordered this truck directly from the Dodge plant and requested an 8ft bed.
ASK QUESTIONS - Bob's W200 Power Wagon Bob's father purchased this W200 Power Wagon in August 1964 and it remains in the family today. The factory (Warren Truck Plant) stretched the frame 8' so the 8' bed could be added,To compensate for the center of gravity imbalance the entire front drive assembly was shifted forward 2'. The original 146' wheel base is now 156' although he can not prove it, Bob believes the frame stretch was done by Kafferbarger Welding in Ohio. This Power Wagon has only 114,000 miles on it and still runs great with it's Poly 318. The dry desert area of Southern CA has kept it almost rust free. The truck is # 375 in the 1965 model year run. All paper work refer to it as a '64 but the vehicle sequence # indicates it's a 65. Author Don Bunn and historian Paul Cook (Texas Power Wagon Museum) have made comments about this unusual truck in the Nov-Dec 2001 issue of 'This Old Truck' Bob has the original DMV receipts and maintenance records. He has been told this truck is the only one of it's kind. 2014 Challenger R/T Shaker, Mopar '14 Challenger bring back iconic hood

    Tue, 05 Nov 2013

Enamored of the Dodge Challenger but wish you could get one with a shaker hood? We've got good news, because Dodge and Mopar have teamed up to bring it back.
The 2014 Dodge Challenger R/T Shaker packs the same 5.7-liter Hemi V8 as the standard Challenger R/T, but upgrades the business end with a through-the-hood exposed cold-air intake system. The retro hood scoop protrudes from the center of the hood in satin black (matching the decklid spoiler) to feed the Hemi and shakes with the engine just like the original from 1970. The Shaker model also comes with a Super Track Pak that adds a new steering rack, brake linings, shocks and 20-inch Goodyear Eagle F1 Super Car rubber. You can also shut off the stability management system completely in this car. A series of interior and exterior trim enhancements round out the look. The whole package adds $2,500 to the price of a Challenger R/T Classic for an all-in MSRP of $36,995.
In case that's not enough, Dodge is also offering a limited-edition Mopar Challenger that follows the 2010 Mopar Challenger, 2011 Mopar Charger, 2012 Mopar 300 and 2013 Mopar Dart. Limited to just 100 examples, the 2014 Mopar Challenger gets the same Shaker hood intake, unique graphics and wheels, an enhanced interior and a long list of optional extras from the Mopar parts catalog. Dodge isn't saying just yet how much the Mopar Challenger will cost, but you can bet it will command a considerable premium for the exclusivity alone.

Dodge Viper saved from crusher by students, but will it last?

    Tue, 16 Sep 2014

The saga of the Washington state community college hoping to keep its allegedly pre-production Dodge Viper out of the maw of the crusher is going strong. Not only does the school still have the car, but there's a chance that the college might even get to keep it.
The whole situation flared up in March when the South Puget Sound Community College in Olympia, WA, received a notice from Chrysler Group that requested that the school's Viper be destroyed. The automaker had loaned the muscle car to it about a decade ago to use for educational purposes in its auto tech classes. With the Dodge growing long in the tooth, "it is unlikely that these vehicles offer any educational value to students," the company said in its press release on the matter.
However, the college balked at destroying its Viper, despite the fact it had signed a contract with Chrysler Group to do so. The school further claimed that its car was incredibly special because it was a pre-production example and just the fourth one made back in 1992. Although, as we pointed out at the time, the photos of the school's vehicle showed a coupe that looked like a newer Viper GTS.
