Doge D100, Chevy C-10, Ford Pickup. Mopar. Restomod. Hotrod. on 2040-cars
Bakersfield, California, United States
Hello, up for sale is my 1971 Dodge D-100 Sweptline Shortbed. Hopefully the photos of the truck do it justice. These trucks are becoming increasingly harder to find especially in this condition. This truck has been very well maintained its entire life. It's an original California Truck and has spent its entire life here in California. This truck runs and drives great with no issues, starts right up and gets you going with no prolonged warmup time. As you can see the truck is very nice, the paint and interior were redone Approx, six months ago. The paint color is a 2012 Gm Medium Gray Metallic, and the interior is done in black tweed with vinyl trim. The seats and door panels also have a nice red stitching which connect the tweed and vinyl. Having the interior done in mostly tweed really helps to keep the truck's interior nice and cool, never too hot or too cold. The engine is a Slant Six 225, it runs strong with no smoking or any leaks. I have no problem cruising at 60 mph on the highway. It has a new Carter Carburetor. The transmission is a 3-speed auto, it's been modified to floor shift with a cool "Lokar Floor Shifter". It has dual exhaust with chrome tips. The wheels are American Racing and the tires are also in great shape, Approx 75% tread left on them. The bed of the truck has been lined and coated, I have the tailgate which is in the same condition as the truck just not pictured but will be sold with the truck; I took it off for increased gas mileage but it looks and works great. I'd list this truck's overall condition as be a strong 9 out of ten, with ten being show winning condition. It was my intention to finish the rear bumper area with a roll pan but just never got around to doing it. I'm very motivated to sell and will consider all reasonable offers, the truck is being sold as is with no warranty given or implied. I'm looking for a fast sell so I don't anticipate this truck lasting long. I've bought and sold cars/trucks on ebay before and have a 100% rating. I can also provide the buyer with the name of a very reliable shipping company to help with a smooth and speedy transaction. You may contact me via Ebay or by phone if you have questions or if you'd like to workout a deal. Thank you. 661-340-3497

Dodge Scat Packages add Mopar performance upgrades in three stages
Wed, 06 Nov 2013Dodge has revealed what it calls Scat Package Stage Kits that enhance the performance of the Charger and the Challenger equipped with the 5.7-liter V8, and the Dart equipped with the turbocharged 2.4-liter inline four-cylinder engine. The Scat Packs use Mopar performance parts that also can be bought separately. Most of the upgrades increase engine output, but Dodge somehow manages to not specifically mention the power gains associated with each Scat Pack.
The three Scat Packs offered for the V8-powered cars focus on higher power ratings, and each stage comes complete with a unique engine-management calibration to optimize output. Stage one comes with a cold-air intake and a cat-back exhaust; stage two adds a performance camshaft; and stage three really gives you the goods, adding ported polished cylinder heads and performance headers.
For the Dart, the Scat Packs focus on engine, transmission, chassis and brake upgrades. Stage one will net you a cold-air intake, a short-throw shifter and slotted rotors with performance brake pads; stage two adds a cat-back exhaust system and an engine-management calibration to increase output by taking advantage of premium-octane gasoline; and stage three adds 13-inch vented brake discs up front clamped by four-piston calipers, suspension with adjustable springs and struts and performance front and rear antiroll bars.
Chrysler slows minivan production, hasn't built VW Routan this year
Wed, 13 Mar 2013Chrysler has slowed production of its Town and Country and Dodge Grand Caravan minivans this week, Automotive News reports. The Windsor, Ontario plant will cut its three shifts from eight hours each to four hours each in an effort "to align production with market demand," a Chrysler spokesperson told AN. Chrysler also builds the closely related Routan minivan for Volkswagen at its Ontario facility, but has not built a single example thus far in 2013.
Sales of Chrysler's minivans fell 15 percent for the first two months of 2013, and a large part of that has to do with the 26-percent drop of the Grand Caravan alone (the T&C was only down by one percent). According to Automotive News data, as of March 1, Chrysler had an unsold inventory of 24,713 Town and Country models and 18,547 Grand Caravans - a 69- and 43-day supply, respectively.
"No sense running full speed now, then have a lot of vehicles sitting around a few months down the line," Chrysler spokeswoman Jodi Tinson told AN. Full production is expected to resume again on March 18.
Dodge Dart falls short of Consumer Reports Recommended, Caddy XTS and Lincoln MKS, too
Thu, 22 Nov 2012The Dodge Dart, Cadillac XTS and Lincoln MKS all failed to earn a "Recommended" rating from Consumer Reports. When it came to the compact Dart, the organization's testers thought the vehicle offered a quiet cabin, solid-feeling chassis and nimble suspension, but the new model ultimately fell short of the coveted rating due to powertrain issues. The institute's reviewers found the base 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine to be underpowered and noted "drivability issues" when the available turbocharged 1.4-liter four was paired with the optional dual-clutch transmission (some of our editors disliked it paired with the six-speed manual). CR also dinged the latter powerplant for sounding "raspy." For what it's worth, we think the forced-induction engine offers an excellent and playful exhaust note, but that's just us.
As for the XTS, CR lauded the car for its luxurious cabin, but the vehicle's experience was dulled by its finicky CUE infotainment interface. Overall, the big Cadillac scored much higher than its cross-town rival from Lincoln. While testers found the American luxury sedan to offer a quiet ride and quality fit and finish, they felt the MKS delivered a "cramped driving position, ungainly handling, uncomposed ride, and limited visibility." Ouch. At the end of the day, both cars fell short of rivals from Japan, Germany and Korea. Check out the full press release below with more details, along with CR's musings on the Chevrolet Spark and Lexus ES.
