1979 Dodge Lil Red Express Truck Survivor Highly Documented on 2040-cars
Soda Springs, Idaho, United States
I am selling my 1979 Lil Red Express truck. This is a true and original Lil Red Express. It is a true original survivor. It has 76,700 original miles. It is a blast to drive. This little red express has never been restored it stills wears its original sheet metal, paint, etc !!!!!! It is hard to find a 35 year old vehicle this original and in this condition! Tons of documentation including owners manual, build sticker, and service records! The truck was driven daily up till 1990 in New Mexico at which point the elderly gentlemen that owned it decided it had too much power and gave it back to his sons family. His son was the original car dealer that sold the truck new and had gotten it for his father. For the past twenty four years the truck has been stored in a dry garage and has only came out for one or two shows a year. The truck has been started routinely to keep the engine lubed. As you probalby already know this little truck was the fastest U.S. production vehicle made and would toast the competition including the infamous corvette. This truck is a hoot to drive. I really enjoy getting it out. I have the original build sticker and I beleive every maintenance record for the truck. I have a binder atleast an inch full of documentation. The truck had AC installed in the early 80s and it will need recharged. The truck runs and drives great. It has sat a lot and could use a tune up and a good run to blow the carbon out of the system. The engine, trans, etc.. are original. The paint is driver quality, there are chips and dings as expected for 76,000 miles of driving. The gauges work, lights work, heater works, runs and drives great. To give an idea how solid this truck is and the extent of being a survivor - it still retains the original pine bed painted medium canyon red. Most of these beds have rotted out and been replaced with Oak. The original pine bed is still solid and in nice condition for its age. The interior is in nice condition and is original never restored, the only real damage is that the glove box cover has cracking, The rest of the dash is fine and this will be an easy fix to replace the glove box door. It has a black cover on ti now and looks nice. The truck has new tires and still retains the original rims in great condition. The truck came original with cruise control that is real cool to find on a 35 year old truck. The cruise control has a short in the switch and usually takes a couple of tries to get it set but then it works well. The truck has anAM/FM radio with eight track player and the original speakers. The wood was revarnished one time and is in good condition. This truck is a ton of fun and gets soooo much attention!! Here is a link to view the truck starting and running http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qyxQNIVZ_bM&feature=youtu.be Here is a link to view a walk around of the truck http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U3iMJ1tv4K4&feature=youtu.be Here is a link to view the truck driving, I live on a dirt road so sorry for the dust in the video but you can still see how fun it is to drive http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kOxVvN9bq9s&feature=youtu.be In 1982 the owner purchased replacement door decals that are still in the box in the truck these are original MOPAR not aftermarket I also have a bumper that has a hitch that fits the truck and looks nice, I will include, I was considering pulling other cars to the car show with it. I also have a spare tire with an original lil red express matching rim (hard to find) the tire should be replaced on the spare but the rim is in nice condition, I also have an assembly to hold the spare under the truck. I have a clear Idaho title in my name. Thanks for looking |

FCA and UAW deal could mean huge production shakeups
Thu, Sep 17 2015The big labor contract between Fiat Chrysler Automobiles and the United Auto Workers is likely to lead to some very serious production shakeups across the company's North American manufacturing operations. That's according to a new report from Automotive News, which details the sweeping changes at no fewer than five production facilities in Michigan, Illinois, Ohio, Mexico, and Poland. So without further ado, here's what's going where, presented in easy to digest bullet form. Ram 1500 production would move from Warren, MI to Sterling Heights, MI Warren, MI would be retooled for unibody production and would handle the Jeep Grand Wagoneer and could potentially build Grand Cherokees to ease the strain on Detroit's Jefferson North factory Chrysler 200 production would move from Sterling Heights, MI to Toluca, Mexico Dodge Dart production would move from Belvidere, IL to Toluca, Mexic Fiat 500 production, which is currently handled by Toluca, would be concentrated in Poland, where the Euro-spec Cinquecento is built Jeep Cherokee production would move from Toledo, OH to Belvidere, IL to make room for Wrangler and Wrangler Pickup production Like we said, those are some big changes. But, as FCA CEO Sergio Marchionne said in an earlier interview with Automotive News, this kind of shakeup would make a lot of sense. In that August interview the exec said that automakers moved truck production to Mexico because they were "threatened" by the UAW. "The only thing [the UAW] want is to move the truck back. Which is right. If you move the truck back here, which is [the UAW's] domain, [and move] all the cars that we get killed on somewhere else, we could actually make sense of this bloody industry and actually increase the number of people employed in this country and really share wealth because we are making money," Marchionne told AN. 2015 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat
Wed, 29 Oct 2014Including all-wheel-drive models, there are ten versions of the 2015 Dodge Charger. The tenth variant - better described as the ten-tenths variant and the topmost model - is this Charger SRT Hellcat.
Superficially, you already know what it is: take the massively powerful Hellcat engine that's Frankensteined into the Dodge Challenger and stitch it into the recently facelifted Charger sedan.
Oh, but that would be superficial knowledge indeed. Russ Ruedisueli, vehicle line executive and head engineer for SRT, claims the Charger Hellcat is, "The industry's most irreverent four-door supercar." We looked up the word "irreverent" in the Oxford dictionaries, and it turns out the word doesn't mean "707 horsepower," nor "650 pound-feet of torque" nor "3.7-second 0-60 time, and seats five adults." It does mean, "Showing a lack of respect for people or things that are generally taken seriously."
Fort Worth Police investigating officer for using pepper spray on bikers
Tue, Mar 15 2016A Fort Worth Police officer was placed on administrative duties after video surfaced showing him allegedly spraying pepper spray at a group of passing motorcyclists during a traffic stop over the weekend. An officer with the FWPD pulled over one of the group's chase vehicles, a red Dodge Ram, that was escorting riders in case of a crash or mechanical troubles. The video, shot from one of the motorcyclists' helmet cams, caught the FWPD officer exiting his vehicle and, before approaching the truck, spraying something into traffic at the group of riders. WFAA News 8 spoke with the men responsible for the video, Jack Kinney and Chase Stone, via Skype from Longview, TX, on March 13. "It's the last thing I would expect to see," Kinney told the station. "His intent was to hit the bikers for sure, there's no doubt about it," said Stone. "His intent was to send somebody down, if not to cause a major accident with that spray". As the video went viral, receiving more than 200,000 views in 15 hours, people shared videos showing the group of motorcyclists riding in an irresponsible manner through traffic right before the alleged pepper spray incident. Fort Worth Police say they received numerous calls about the pack of riders from motorists on surrounding highways, with complaints ranging from weaving in and out of lanes to popping wheelies through traffic at high speed. News 8 asked Kinney and Stone if it was possible that the officer felt threatened. "If you're worried about safety, why would you pepper spray a large group of bikers like that?" asked Kinney. The Dallas Morning News identified the officer as W. Figueroa. Worth Police released an official statement about the incident late on the afternoon of March 13. They stated that the officer in question, a six-year FWPD veteran, had been relieved of his patrol duties and placed on desk duty pending the investigation. FWPD Corporal Tracey Knight also made a statement indicating that pepper-spraying drivers in oncoming traffic is not a department-sanctioned tactic.
